Chapter 35: A Struggle Within

This isn’t right! Shouldn’t I be flirting with him? Why do I feel like he’s the one flirting with me?

“Haha, so that’s how it is.” The general laughed sheepishly.

“Ugh, I admit I’m a bit weak, but I’m still growing! I… Aaah!” I was irritated. I didn’t want to explain anymore. I felt incredibly stupid. I ran out.

Screw him!

As soon as I got out, I bumped into a soldier. The soldier saw me and immediately stepped back in fear, exclaiming, “Gen-general! Ah! V-vampire!” Then he ran off.

“Aah, what kind of plot is this…” I said helplessly. Didn’t they see me last night? They must all be blind!

I watched the soldier run far away, all the way to Jiang Peng. Jiang Peng clapped him on the shoulder and punched his chest, probably teasing him.

“Heh heh…”

I adjusted my breathing, planning to go back into the tent to ask the general about today’s itinerary, when I could leave, and such.

Entering the tent, I saw Feibai already fully armored. Damn, that speed. As expected of a soldier, huh?

“Oh, you’re back so soon?” Feibai looked like he hadn’t taken what happened just now seriously at all.

He completely didn’t understand how much I desired power right now. Well… he’s not me, of course he wouldn’t.

I felt a little unhappy inside, but in an instant, my chest felt tight, my face burned, my body started heating up, and I began to pant.

Seeing Brother Feibai’s handsome face, his red hair, his sturdy and tall build, I felt a little dizzy.

This was the same feeling I had when I served the demons…

I started breathing heavily, trying to calm myself down.

‘Damn it! I’ve had enough! f*cking demons!’

I never thought that after escaping the castle alive, I’d end up with such an unspeakable psychological shadow.

“What’s wrong with you?” Feibai asked suspiciously as he strapped on his longsword.

I forcefully suppressed my trembling legs and smiled bitterly at him. “Nothing. A soldier just got scared by my appearance and ran away. So I wanted to ask you if there’s any gauze or something to cover my eyes.”

“Really? You’re breathing very hard. Are you sick?” He suddenly rushed to my side with urgency and grabbed my shoulders.

His attitude toward me was strange. I didn’t understand why he cared so much.

‘Why not just ask directly? Why did he have to rush over? Ah!’

Because he suddenly ran in front of me, I couldn’t help but tremble all over. I shifted my gaze to the side, not wanting to look at him.

My body got even hotter. I pushed him away.

“Nothing, really nothing. Hehe…” I laughed foolishly. How could I tell him the truth?

What was I supposed to say? That I was being pathetic? That I wanted it?

‘Seriously… If I had magic, I’d kill all the demons! MDFK!’

“Alright, if something’s wrong, you have to tell me.” Yun Feibai pulled out a roll of bandage from somewhere, tore off a strip, waved his hand, and turned it into something like a gauze mask.

“There, it’s not gauze, but this should work.” He smiled and handed the ‘gauze mask bandage’ to me.

“Thanks!” I immediately took the bandage and wrapped it around my eyes. “Hopefully this won’t scare anyone else…” I tried to restrain my desire and kept backing away to maintain distance.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked me again.

“I’m fine, I’m fine.” As I spoke, I pointed at my eyes and asked him, “What do you think now? Can you still see my eyes?” My face felt even redder than before, and I was starting to sweat all over. This was not a good state. I had to leave.

“No, I can’t see them.” He answered readily.

“Phew, haha, thanks.” I smiled bitterly, nodded, said thanks, and quickly ran out of the tent.

I didn’t go too far. Afraid of getting lost, I stopped at the edge of the forest outside the camp.

I found a tree, crouched down with my knees hugged, took off the gauze mask, and started crying. “Why… Damn it!”

Down there it was hot and uncomfortable, itchy and uncomfortable, and it kept spasming.

I clenched my fists, my whole body trembling.

“Damn it!!” I punched my leg hard.

‘f*ck! f*ck! f*ck!’

“Phew, phew…” I breathed heavily.

This felt terrible!

From hyperventilating, my face went numb, and saliva and tears kept flowing.

“Ah, no! Why is this happening to me!”

I bit my finger, trying to control my breathing rate and the amount of air I inhaled.

After a few minutes, I returned to normal.

My back was soaked, and the grass was covered in my tears.

‘Ah, finally, I got through it…’

It was like going through withdrawal! Not that I’ve ever done drugs…

I wiped my tears, put on the gauze mask, and planned to go back.

But when I turned around, I saw Brother Feibai in the distance, his face full of worry.

His eyes were still so gentle, like he cared for family.

I didn’t dare look too long, but my body involuntarily walked toward him.

“Hmph.” I wiped my mouth, my eyes uncertain.

“You…” He asked from afar.

“Don’t make me say it… Thanks.” I said softly, just standing next to him.

Suddenly, Brother Feibai’s big hand landed on my head. “You’re a man. I won’t ask any more. I will definitely wipe out all the demons!”

I didn’t answer, just nodded slightly.

His words were not false. They sounded like words from a patriotic martyr, heavy and somewhat sad.

I believed he meant it, but I wanted to destroy them myself even more!

And at that moment, his hand that was rubbing my head was trembling, just like yesterday when he rode the unicorn.

‘Last time, when he said “sell my body”, he was trembling too…’

Then we started breakfast. It was meat! Soup!

‘Ah! Not bug soup! It’s meat soup! Slightly gamey meat soup, with just the right herbs, and a fresh broth!’

“It’s… so delicious.” I praised with tears streaming down.

I had just finished crying, and now I was crying again.

During the meal, many soldiers kept glancing at me.

After all, they all had red hair. I was the only one with white hair and my eyes covered.

But I didn’t care! Ah! This soup was amazing!

‘Don’t eat too much. You might get carsick later.’ Someone reminded me.

But even without the reminder, I wouldn’t eat too much because I chewed slowly. I only ate two pieces of meat before I couldn’t eat anymore.

Half a bowl was left…

I still chewed slowly, but after half a bowl, I was full.

And I had only asked for half a bowl…

I couldn’t believe my stomach. How had it become so small?
