Join the ServerThe enormous black python that countless people feared had been driven off by Jiang Shulan using nothing but his fists and feet.
This accomplishment made Jiang Shulan happy for half the day.
He insisted that the system praise him.
The system lied through its teeth with a straight face, praising him as if he were a hero without equal under heaven.
Only then did he resume his great escape operation.
He wasn’t afraid of the black python at all anymore.
Now the black python was afraid of him!
With his chin raised high, Jiang Shulan marched through the rainforest with pride and confidence.
That confidence vanished without a trace when he came face to face with a crocodile.
The crocodile stared at him for a few seconds.
The next second, both sides fled in a panic.
Jiang Shulan ran because he was afraid of being bitten.
The crocodile ran because it was afraid of Jiang Shulan’s scent.
As Jiang Shulan ran, he suddenly realized that the crocodile had somehow ended up behind him.
He nearly suffered cardiac arrest from fright.
Crocodiles had four legs.
They were much faster than he was.
When he became too tired to run any farther, he raised his hand to signal surrender, hoping the crocodile would stop chasing him.
Instead, the crocodile suddenly bolted away, paying him no attention at all.
“Huh?”
Jiang Shulan stared blankly with his mouth open.
“What’s going on?”
He raised his head.
Above him loomed an enormous, black, extremely familiar head.
“Hello.”
He waved, attempting to lower the black python’s guard.
Then he turned and ran again.
“Long time no see- Aaaah!”
His waist was wrapped up.
The black python placed him on its “back.”
Just as he was about to jump off, the black python accelerated instantly.
Cold wind roared against his face.
The scenery around him flew by.
It felt like riding a high-speed train.
An open-air high-speed train.
Eventually, the “train” arrived at its destination.
Jiang Shulan shook his dizzy head and discovered they had arrived at a massive waterfall.
The giant python raised its body and delivered him to a cave at the very top of the waterfall.
Already traumatized by caves, Jiang Shulan clung to the black python’s head and started crying.
His tears rolled down the contours of its scales and dripped into its eyes.
He refused to get down even if it killed him.
The black python had no choice.
It turned around and carried him back into the rainforest.
Its younger brother had told it that little humans were easy to coax and loved to play.
Novel things always captured their attention.
The black python stopped in front of a thirty-meter palm tree.
It shook its head gently, signaling the little human on top of it to stop crying and look at the tree canopy.
Sniffling, the little human raised his reddened eyes.
Just as it expected, he saw the clusters of dark purple berries.
The black python ate one first.
After swallowing an entire cluster, it signaled that they were safe to eat.
The little human curiously picked a small bunch and played with them in his tiny hands.
He didn’t eat them.
Did he not like them?
The black python found another tree.
The fruit on this one was as large as papayas, with hard shells.
It carefully coiled around the trunk, crushing the shells.
Then, with great care, it used its tail to deliver the fruit to the little human.
The little human smelled the fragrant flesh inside.
It smelled like pineapple mixed with chocolate.
The flesh itself was creamy white.
When it was young, it had picked this fruit for its younger brother.
Its younger brother had loved it.
Surely the little human would too.
The little human cautiously took a bite.
Then he actually stood up on the black python’s head and started picking fruit himself.
At last, he had been coaxed into feeling a little better.
The black python waited patiently for the little human to eat his fill.
Only then did it carry him back to the waterfall.
This time, the little human obediently climbed into the cave.
[You’re not afraid anymore?] the system asked.
Holding the hard fruit in his arms, Jiang Shulan replied, [No. I’m planning to find a place later and smash myself offline with this fruit.]
[If I don’t get the chance, I’ll smash the black python’s injury with it and make it hurt to death!]
The system remained silent.
It wouldn’t hurt to death.
It would enjoy it to death.
Jiang Shulan had long since grown used to the system’s silence.
He weighed the fruit in his hands.
Did the black python really think he was that easy to appease?
How naive!
Jiang Shulan continued deeper into the cave.
To his surprise, the black python didn’t follow him.
The cave was very clean.
It seemed to be cleaned regularly.
Strange glowing stones were scattered everywhere, illuminating the space.
It wasn’t dark at all.
He continued inward.
At the deepest part of the cave sat a huge, elongated ice chamber.
Inside lay a handsome, tall, pale-skinned man.
There was a faint resemblance between his features and Hyman’s.
What was this man’s relationship with Hyman?
And what exactly was going on with the black python?
Did it know this man was here?
Or had it simply brought him here to keep him from escaping?
If it did know, then why bring him here to look at this man?
Did it want him to save him?
Jiang Shulan leaned in for a closer look.
But the man wasn’t breathing.
He had clearly already joined hands with death.
How was he supposed to save him?
Unable to understand, Jiang Shulan turned back, wanting to escape.
But the black python wasn’t there.
The cave had no other exits.
Beyond the entrance was a waterfall cliff dozens of feet high.
The black python brought over the clothes from the previous cave and used them to build him a nest.
He was trapped there by the black python.
Whenever he was hungry, it brought him fruit.
When he was sleepy, he slept in his pile of clothes.
When he was bored, he studied the man inside the ice chamber.
After several days of eating nothing but fruit, he became wilted and listless.
He sat at the edge of the cave, swinging his legs absentmindedly and looking around out of boredom.
Then he saw a familiar boat.
The people aboard were in the middle of a chaotic fight.
“Hyman!”
He waved frantically.
“Terry!”
But they were too far away.
No one could hear him.
After another standoff, he saw Salang use a gun to force Hyman and Kyle to pull the ropes from the boat to the shore.
He saw Terry and Danny take the opportunity to knock Salang down and try to seize the detonator.
Just as things seemed to be improving, a giant python appeared and nearly ruined everything.
To prevent the python from interfering, Warren drew its attention while climbing the waterfall.
“Come on, you bastard! Come eat me!”
The giant python locked onto Warren.
Its body coiled around the rocks.
Then it launched an attack.
Jiang Shulan reacted instantly and pulled Warren into the cave.
“Shu?! You’re alive!” Warren exclaimed in shock.
Jiang Shulan forced out a bitter smile.
“Yeah.”
“Wait!”
Warren pulled him back.
“Watch out for that giant python!”
The python circled around the cave entrance for a few seconds.
Then, after detecting the lingering scent inside with its tongue, it fled at once.
At the same time, the people on the boat successfully subdued Salang.
Hyman carried Jiang Shulan down from the cave entrance.
The survivors embraced one another.
Danny picked up his camera again.
“I think this moment absolutely deserves to be recorded.”
Warren immediately unleashed his trademark sarcasm.
“If you’d been willing to use that camera to smash Salang earlier, I might agree.”
He had seen it himself.
When forced to choose between the camera and the basket of fruit, Danny had chosen the fruit basket.
A fruit basket wasn’t going to do much damage to a lunatic like Salang.
Danny protested.
“This camera is more precious than my life! It contains so much footage we’ve already shot!”
As the two bickered, the atmosphere on the boat immediately became lighter.
Kyle stood by the railing.
“Is Salang definitely dead?”
In the chaos, they had only managed to take the detonator and shoot Salang.
No one knew where the bullet had hit him.
Gary shrugged.
“Maybe he got eaten by a giant python.”
“Didn’t he love giant pythons more than anything?”
“Maybe he willingly became their food.”
“No. We should make sure.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, a gunshot rang out.
Jiang Shulan, who had just been shoved aside by Hyman and hadn’t yet regained his balance, saw a small hole appear in Hyman’s shirt over his chest.
The fabric around it was rapidly soaked with dark red blood.
The spreading stain resembled a flower slowly blooming.
Growing larger and larger.
