Chapter 132: Side Story Part 2 Episode 1 – Back to Being A Successful Fan

Sunlight pressed heavily against his eyelids, and Han-geon frowned.

When he slowly opened his eyes and checked the clock, it was already close to eight.

Judging by how quiet it still was, Eun-han seemed to be sleeping.

He was a child who needed a lot of sleep, and if left alone, he could easily sleep until nine.

A familiar warmth was pressed against Han-geon’s body.

No matter how many times he felt it, Eun-gyeol’s skin was always astonishingly warm.

That was why he had given him herbal medicine to reduce heat again this year.

He didn’t know why, but remembering how Eun-gyeol had accepted it with an unusually moved expression and how he had faithfully brought it to Han-geon every time he took it—though Han-geon had assumed he was simply nostalgic for having taken it before, especially since he had complained so much back then about not wanting to drink it—made Han-geon smile without realizing it.

He quietly gazed at the sleeping face.

A pretty face.

After defining it so simply, Han-geon found it difficult to look away.

On a weekend morning filled with such beautiful sunlight, being able to endlessly look at Eun-gyeol’s defenseless sleeping face felt like a precious privilege that belonged to him alone.

Before he realized it, his hand moved.

He gently brushed the strands of hair that had fallen over Eun-gyeol’s forehead.

Rustle, rustle.

The soft texture winding around his fingertips pleased him.

Each individual strand of thick, glossy hair felt beautiful to him.

“Did you sleep well?”

Before he knew it, Eun-gyeol had opened his eyes, and their gazes met.

His murmuring voice was still steeped in sleep.

Han-geon pulled his hand back awkwardly.

He had tried to be careful so as not to wake him.

“I woke you up.

Sorry.

Good morning.”

“No.

Good morning….”

After barely managing the greeting, Eun-gyeol slowly closed his eyes again, then suddenly twisted his body sharply.

A solid arm reached out and tightly wrapped around Han-geon’s waist.

Clinging to him stubbornly, he reminded Han-geon of a large puppy, and the thought made him smile slightly.

“Eun-han must still be asleep.”

“Mmh.”

“Get up.

Go wash up and let’s eat breakfast.”

“I’ll do it.

You lie down a bit longer.”

Though he had looked like he would laze around and cling to him endlessly, Eun-gyeol slowly got up at Han-geon’s words.

He still looked half-asleep, but there was no hesitation in his movements as he entered the bathroom and turned on the water.

Listening to the sound of Eun-gyeol washing his face and brushing his teeth, Han-geon also sat up in bed.

Eun-han would be waking up soon anyway, so there was no point in lying around.

After washing up himself, Han-geon quietly slipped into the baby’s room.

Through the wide-open door, he could see Eun-han still fast asleep.

The small body dressed in a space-themed pajama looked like a doll.

Perhaps sensing Han-geon’s presence as it neared wake-up time, Eun-han shifted in his sleep.

His closed eyelashes fluttered, and his cherry-red lips twitched slightly.

Watching the child wriggle around without quite opening his eyes made Han-geon unable to suppress his smile.

“Cha Eun-han, wake up.

You need to eat.”

He kissed Eun-han’s soles and palms, and finally went brrr against his belly, blowing a raspberry.

At last, Eun-han opened his eyes and burst into giggles, grabbing Han-geon’s short hair.

The sensation of tiny fingers crawling across his scalp made Han-geon smile as well.

“What is this.

You’re making me jealous, laughing just the two of you.”

Eun-gyeol entered the baby’s room soon after, grinning as he greeted Eun-han.

“Hi.”

At the lazy greeting, Eun-han’s eyes sparkled, and he spread his chubby arms wide.

Eun-gyeol scooped him up at once and kissed him, then set him down again, saying he should get started on breakfast, before leaving the room.

While Han-geon sat with Eun-han reading picture books and singing songs, continuous clattering sounds came from the kitchen.

Before long, a delicious smell drifted in as well.

“Eun-han, I think Daddy Eun-gyeol is cooking.”

“Daddy?”

“Yeah.

It’ll be tasty, right.

So you need to eat lots until your belly gets all full.”

When he lived alone, Eun-gyeol rarely even stepped into the kitchen.

But after the three of them began living together, he willingly took charge of the housework.

Among his most remarkable improvements was cooking and kitchen work.

After even requesting and receiving special lessons from Han-geon’s mother, Eun-gyeol had mastered Han-geon’s favorite kimchi stew and soybean paste tofu stew, as well as fried rice and rice bowls that Eun-han often ate.

Every time Han-geon ate the food Eun-gyeol made for him, he found himself loving him even more.

It had been about a month since they moved into a home meant only for the three of them.

Han-geon’s heart, which had never quite managed to settle anywhere, was now growing steadily in stable soil.

A family built together with the person he loved, and the joy and sense of security that stemmed from it, were the richest and most abundant happiness Han-geon had ever known.

Han-geon, newly immersed in happiness, looked around the baby’s room.

The wallpaper covered in cars, the neatly arranged books and toys, their precious child who babbled and swayed from side to side, and the clinking sounds coming through the open doorway all filled him to the brim.

Every time he saw and heard scenes like this, Han-geon felt his heart swell until it could hold no more.

“It’s ready, Han-geon.

Bring the baby out.”

“Okay.”

Eun-gyeol’s voice came from the kitchen.

After closing the picture book and placing it back on the shelf, Han-geon lifted Eun-han and carried him out.

He seated the child in the high chair beside the table and helped Eun-gyeol prepare the meal.

Today’s menu was spinach soybean paste soup, rolled omelet, and beef bulgogi that Han-geon’s mother had sent over the day before.

“Wow, you already made soup and rolled eggs?”

When Han-geon’s eyes widened, Eun-gyeol immediately put on a proud expression.

“Yeah.

Fast, right?”

“Totally.”

“And it’s super good.

Try it.”

Eun-gyeol urged him impatiently with a glance at the soup.

Chuckling inwardly at how starved for praise Eun-gyeol looked, Han-geon quickly took a spoonful and tasted it.

At that moment, his eyes lit up.

“Oh.”

“How is it.”

He had planned to praise him even if it wasn’t good—since Eun-gyeol had lived far from cooking for so long and his early attempts had been inconsistent—but this soup was genuinely delicious.

“It’s really good.”

When Han-geon set the spoon down and gave a thumbs-up, Eun-gyeol’s face filled with pride.

“Right?

It’s good.”

“Yeah.

It’s the best.

Eun-han likes it too.”

When he mixed rice into the mild soup and fed it to him, Eun-han opened his mouth wide like a baby bird and ate eagerly.

Despite such a warm and abundant table, Eun-gyeol’s place held only a salad topped with two large pieces of chicken breast.

Reading the sympathy clearly written on Han-geon’s face, Eun-gyeol leaned in close to his ear and whispered softly on purpose.

“I’m totally top-tier husband material, right.

Handsome, good at kitchen work, and good in bed too.”

“…Go away.

That tickles.”

Even though he whispered so only Han-geon could hear, and even though Eun-han couldn’t possibly understand even if he spoke louder, Han-geon’s face flushed bright red.

Despite having a child and living together, exchanging words like this with Eun-gyeol still made his chest itch and his cheeks burn.

“Baam-ba.

Baam-ba.”

Though Eun-han could barely speak yet, whenever something pleased him, he lit up, clapped his hands, and expressed his delight.

As he eagerly ate the soup and omelet while clapping nonstop, Eun-gyeol puffed out his chest with a see-that look.

Seeing Eun-gyeol’s shoulders nearly reaching the sky made Han-geon smile and nod.

After the meal, while Han-geon washed the dishes, Eun-gyeol played with Eun-han in the living room.

Days when Eun-gyeol had a completely free schedule like this were extremely rare.

That was why Han-geon wanted him to spend as much time with their child as possible.

Even as he washed the dishes, his gaze kept drifting toward the beloved family behind him.

“Kyaa!”

“That’s it.

Good job.”

Eun-han’s chubby body slid down the slide and landed on the thick mat below.

Still too young to sit and slide properly, he came down belly-first, and Eun-gyeol laughed as he took pictures nonstop.

Han-geon grew impatient, wanting to join them as soon as possible.

He moved quickly to finish the dishes and, barely drying his hands, hurried into the living room.

When Han-geon returned, Eun-gyeol naturally stood up and kissed him on the cheek.

“Good job, Han-geon.

My husband.

You’re good at dishes too.”

“Stop it.

That’s embarrassing….”

Their words broke off in between kisses.

With Eun-han watching their affection intently, the embarrassment only deepened.

Even when Han-geon tried to push him away, saying they shouldn’t do this in front of the baby, Eun-gyeol only replied that this level of skinship was nothing.

“Haaam….”

After playing back and forth between his two dads for a while, Eun-han yawned widely.

A glance at the clock showed it was nap time.

The two of them carried the child into the room together.

Perhaps satisfied from a full morning of fun, Eun-han fell asleep as soon as he was laid down in his car-shaped bed.

“Your sister said she’s coming today to pick Eun-han up, right?”

“Yeah.

Since it’s your rare day off, our parents said they’d have him stay over and told us to spend the evening together.”

“I’m looking forward to it.

A date with you.”

Eun-gyeol smiled leisurely and rested his chin on Han-geon’s shoulder.

The gentle sensation of being hugged from behind felt nice.

When Han-geon turned slightly and brushed his lips with a light kiss, a smile bloomed across Eun-gyeol’s handsome face.

Before his racing heartbeat could be noticed, Han-geon forced himself to pull away.

“You said you have to work out today.

Do it now.”

“Mmh.”

Watching Eun-gyeol head into the room set up as a home gym, Han-geon went into the bedroom and opened his laptop.

His expression was serious and resolute, like someone about to resolve a long-standing task.
