“Cha Eun-gyeol!
A-Are you okay?!”
The moment the security guards swarmed in and completely subdued the man, Han-geon turned his body toward Eun-gyeol.
With a face drained pale, Eun-gyeol gave a tiny nod.
Han-geon quickly swept his eyes over him.
Thankfully, there didn’t seem to be any visible injuries.
Still, the thought that Eun-gyeol had seen the blade head-on made his chest ache unbearably.
Han-geon pulled him away from the crowd and moved to a quiet spot inside the building.
“Let me see.
Are you hurt anywhere…?”
Han-geon frantically checked him over.
He cupped Eun-gyeol’s face with both hands, scanning it, then ran his hands over his body as if searching for injuries.
Eun-gyeol submitted quietly, without a hint of irritation.
His gaze was still stiff and unfocused—worryingly blank.
In the meantime, all the team members followed them and began checking on Eun-gyeol as well.
Han-geon naturally stepped back, making room for the manager and the others who rushed in.
Fortunately, Eun-gyeol hadn’t been injured in the slightest—not even a hair out of place—and, contrary to Han-geon’s fears, he quickly regained his composure.
Rather, he brushed away the manager, who was holding his face and turning it this way and that in worry, and strode straight back toward Han-geon.
The instant their eyes met, Eun-gyeol spat out a curse.
“You f*cking—”
The vicious voice rumbled low.
The manager flinched and hurriedly made a shushing gesture.
“Hey, hey, Eun-gyeol.
You can’t swear with so many people around.
Calm down a bit—”
“Is that really the problem right now?
He’s hurt.”
“…Me?”
Han-geon blinked, looking confused.
Eun-gyeol scowled fiercely, ignoring the manager’s attempts to stop him, and cursed again.
This time, Han-geon floundered and quickly reached out to cover Eun-gyeol’s mouth.
“Please, please don’t swear.
There are a lot of ears listening.”
Eun-gyeol sharply grabbed Han-geon’s wrist and pulled it down, then immediately glared at the manager.
“What are you doing?
Why haven’t you called the medical team yet?”
“Ah—okay.
Alright, alright.”
Only then did the manager move in a fluster.
Embarrassed, Han-geon waved his hand, saying he was fine, but it was no use.
Soon, a medical staff member who had been on standby with the crew approached.
“Oh dear, your face…”
Not even realizing he’d been injured, Han-geon blinked dumbly and obediently offered his face.
The medic quickly opened a first-aid kit and brought a disinfectant pad to his cheek.
When the cold cotton touched his right cheekbone, a stinging sensation finally registered.
It must have been nicked slightly during the struggle over the knife earlier.
“Are you okay?
Doesn’t this need stitches?”
Eun-gyeol asked sharply, but the staff member shook their head, saying it was fine.
“It’s not that deep.
Luckily, it’s just a small split…”
“Cha Eun-gyeol, I’m fine.”
Smiling slightly, Han-geon thought it was a relief that it had missed his eye area.
In truth, working security meant getting hurt far worse than this was hardly unusual.
Still, seeing Eun-gyeol fret so much over a small injury to his face made him feel grateful—and fond.
The wound was treated with disinfectant, pressure to stop the bleeding, and a large hydrocolloid bandage.
Han-geon bowed deeply, thanking the staff member who had carefully treated his face.
When the treatment was finished, Eun-gyeol, the manager, and the other team members were all looking at him with worried expressions.
Han-geon’s face grew hot with embarrassment.
“Ah… it was really nothing.
Sorry for worrying everyone.”
“What do you mean, sorry?
It’s a relief it was only this much.
Han-geon, if it hadn’t been for you, this could’ve been really bad.”
The manager stepped closer and tightly clasped both of Han-geon’s hands.
“Those lunatics show up every once in a while, just when you forget about them.
But you—honestly—you threw your body in front of him.
I’m really grateful.”
“N-No, it was nothing.
It was just my job.”
“Still!
Anyway, you did great.
I’m really thankful.”
The manager repeated his thanks several times, still holding his hands.
Han-geon’s ears turned so red they felt like they might burst.
He’d only done what he had to do…
More than anything, he was truly relieved that Eun-gyeol hadn’t been hurt.
The chaotic scene gradually settled down.
The police arrived, and the filming crew’s security blocked off and controlled the crowds that had gathered like storm clouds.
The man, who had rushed in after citizens reported him, was arrested on the spot.
According to the officers, the man was an omega and appeared to have deliberately released pheromones toward Eun-gyeol.
Because of the unexpected attack, filming was delayed for several hours.
At first, the director, worried about Eun-gyeol, even suggested calling it off for the day, but Eun-gyeol insisted he was fine.
Instead, he asked for a little time to calm down, which is how the break was decided.
“He must’ve been really shaken.
Let him rest for a bit.”
“I’m fine—”
“Yeah, yeah.
Go rest for a while.
Han-geon, you should grab a cold drink or something too.”
If Eun-gyeol said he was fine, then Han-geon truly was fine as well…
He was grateful yet embarrassed by Eun-gyeol’s overprotective behavior over such a minor injury.
But when it came to things like this, it was hard to break Eun-gyeol’s stubbornness.
In the end, Han-geon had no choice but to let himself be led by the hand.
Eun-gyeol led him to the van parked in the underground garage.
He had deliberately parked it in a spot with as few people as possible, so the area around the van was quiet.
As soon as they got in, Eun-gyeol drew the curtains on all sides, started the engine, and turned on the air conditioner to cool the interior.
Moving from a crowded, noisy place to a quiet space with just the two of them made all the tension drain away at once.
Eun-gyeol sat close, his expression serious.
“Are you okay?”
“It’s really nothing…
Don’t make such a big deal out of it.
What about you—are you okay?”
“As you can see.
My bodyguard’s just got to be competent.”
A small laugh escaped.
Hearing Eun-gyeol joke like that finally put Han-geon at ease, and the strength drained from his body.
A sigh of relief slipped out at the fact that he’d protected him.
Yes.
This was exactly why he’d become Eun-gyeol’s bodyguard.
Being able to protect the person he loved made him feel truly relieved, fulfilled, and happy.
Sitting side by side, Eun-gyeol suddenly patted his knee twice.
“Lie down.”
“…Huh?”
“I’ll give you a lap pillow as a reward for protecting me, so lie down.”
Seeing his playful smile, Han-geon’s face flushed bright red.
“I-It’s fine.”
“Hurry.”
They went back and forth a few times, but there was no way Han-geon could win against his stubbornness.
With a small sigh, Han-geon carefully rested his head on Eun-gyeol’s lap.
Come to think of it, he’d lost count of how many times he’d let Eun-gyeol lie on his lap, but this was the first time it had been the other way around.
Eun-gyeol’s lap was firm and warm.
Eun-gyeol ran his fingers through Han-geon’s hair and grinned.
“So?
How does it feel, lying on my lap?”
“…It’s hard.”
He answered on purpose in a grumbly tone, and a soft laugh drifted down from above.
Eun-gyeol’s fingers brushed again and again near the bandaged wound.
Careful not to touch it directly, his fingertips hovered around it with an uncharacteristic gentleness.
“That f*cking bastard.
How dare he mess up my manager’s face like this?
Makes me want to kill him.”
The warmth quickly drained from his voice.
The way Eun-gyeol muttered coldly was downright vicious.
“I’m fine.
When you work a job like this, you get hurt like that all the time.”
He said it without thinking, trying in his own way to calm him down.
But seeing Eun-gyeol’s expression harden even more, Han-geon belatedly realized it wasn’t the right thing to say right now.
He smiled awkwardly and hurried to add,
“…Anyway, I’m really fine.”
“I’m not fine.
I’m seriously going to ruin that bastard.”
“Cha Eun-gyeol, just in case, I’m saying this but—”
“I mean legally.”
Hearing him add that in a sulky voice, Han-geon still felt uneasy.
Knowing Cha Eun-gyeol’s personality, it honestly wouldn’t have been strange at all if he’d secretly tracked the man down and physically harmed him.
Only after warning him several times not to do anything dangerous and hearing his irritated promise that he wouldn’t did Han-geon finally let out a sigh of relief.
“That son of a b*tch, scratching up a perfectly handsome face like this…
Seriously, should I just kill him?”
Listening to his muttering made Han-geon’s chest itch strangely.
He swallowed for no reason.
Trying to sit up so his ears turning red wouldn’t be noticed, he was immediately stopped by a firm press to his forehead.
Fingers gently traced over his face.
The touch gliding over his skin felt dizzyingly good.
Without realizing it, his eyes slowly closed.
A faint chuckle sounded above him, and he couldn’t bring himself to open them.
At first, the touch had been meant to check the wound.
Before he knew it, the intention subtly changed.
Fingers brushing his earlobe slowly wandered to the nape of his neck.
Every place those soft yet strong fingertips touched felt like tiny sparks of electricity.
The way he was being caressed—with unmistakable intent—felt unbearably erotic.
His breathing kept growing faster.
Han-geon bit his lip and opened his eyes.
He couldn’t endure it any longer.
If he stayed like this, touching Eun-gyeol, it felt like his uncontrollable feelings would be exposed.
“D-Don’t touch me like that…
I’m going to get up.”
“Why.
Getting turned on?”
“Please, watch what you say…!”
Eun-gyeol smiled slightly at Han-geon, who flared up with a flushed face.
The hand that had been caressing his face slowly moved downward.
Without hesitation, fingers slipped into the front of his suit pants, and Han-geon’s body jolted violently.
“Guess you are turned on.
Han-geon, you’ve got it standing right here.”
“D-Don’t do this!
Are you crazy?!
If we do this outside—!”
“No one can see.
Tinted windows and curtains—how would they?”
Eun-gyeol grinned mischievously and cocked one eyebrow.
“Want me to touch your d*ck, Mr. Bodyguard?
