Chapter 46: The Healer’s Revelation

My sister’s newly awakened ability had no effect on the three people in the tree, which immediately debunked my initial theory.

Despite having compared my sister to the Faceless Butcher earlier, the outcome after she activated her ability clearly showed that she couldn’t directly tear people apart.

Even though many clues had matched, my sister was indeed not the Faceless Butcher.

Seeing that her ability had no discernible effect, my sister dejectedly lowered her head, staring at her hands. This outcome clearly saddened her.

Meanwhile, I fell into deep contemplation.

If my sister’s ability wasn’t about tearing things apart, then her true power must lie within the visions she had described to me earlier.

Her real ability was perhaps hidden within those very visions.

With the Faceless Butcher option eliminated, my thoughts immediately became much clearer.

My sister had once mentioned that the colossal white deer that had appeared suddenly tore itself apart, only to inexplicably regenerate amidst a mysterious white light.

Could my sister’s ability be…

In the apocalypse, among the myriad of abilities—be it powerful combat skills or supportive powers that improved daily life—the incredibly rare healing ability was particularly coveted.

Those who possessed healing abilities could not only mend minor injuries but also pull the severely wounded back from the brink of death.

High-level healers were even rumored to be able to revert humans bitten by zombies back to their normal state.

However, these were all hearsay, and their veracity couldn’t be guaranteed.

Due to their scarcity, healers, though not unique, were immediately recruited by armies and large bases the moment they appeared.

A medium-sized base like mine simply didn’t have the capacity to recruit a healer.

If my sister truly was a healer, that would be absolutely incredible!

At this thought, my heart swelled with uncontrollable excitement.

In the apocalypse, the role of a healer was far more crucial than one could imagine.

If my sister possessed healing abilities, it would at least protect her in this harsh world, ensuring she wouldn’t be harmed by others.

Because anyone who dared to harm a healer would face the wrath of all armies and major base factions.

Therefore, once I connected the white light in my sister’s palm to the concept of a healer, I was almost certain she was one.

Yet, without witnessing her healing ability firsthand, I couldn’t fully set my mind at ease.

So, I simply retrieved a dagger from my space and deliberately slashed my right arm.

After blood spurted from the wound, I turned to my sister, who was wide-eyed with shock, and told her to use her awakened ability on my injury.

As expected, my actions spurred her into action, and she no longer hesitated.

She immediately conjured a white light in her hand and directed it at the wound on my right arm.

The wound on my arm gradually mended under the spreading white light. In the end, it vanished completely, leaving no trace.

Once my arm was fully restored, I raised it and waved it around a few times. Seeing no other symptoms, I finally lowered it, satisfied.

Now, I could be certain.

My sister’s awakened ability was indeed healing.

“My goodness! Brother, how did your wound heal? Can my ability really heal injuries?”

“Yes, you guessed it!”

“Huh??? I thought it would be something like super strength or throwing ice and spitting fire! It’s just a healing ability, so I’ll only be a backline support…”

“Don’t underestimate healing abilities. This ability is incredibly important.”

“Is it really that important? Brother, do you think I’m important?”

“Very important.”

As my sister looked at me with an expectant gaze, I nodded, my expression serious.

However, just as I finished speaking, my sister’s face suddenly broke into a wide smile, and she couldn’t stop herself from laughing out loud.

Her sudden laughter left me a little bewildered. What was she laughing about?

‘Did I say something wrong?’

“It’s nothing, really. It’s just that when I thought… that I’m the most important to Brother, I felt so happy.”

“…”

After hearing my sister’s words, I looked at her with a face full of black lines.

I realized that my sister and I truly didn’t operate on the same wavelength, which made me feel quite embarrassed.
