Having decided to employ my spatial abilities against the encroaching zombies, I also wished to train my sister. Thus, I handed her my blade, instructing her to deliver the finishing blows to any undead that remained.
One cannot witness a rainbow without first enduring the storm. Moreover, flowers raised in a greenhouse wither swiftly.
My sister, Bai Xia, could never be such a delicate blossom, fragile enough to shatter at a mere touch.
After giving my instructions, I held my breath, concentrating intently and gathering all the energy within my body. Then, extending two fingers, I focused every ounce of that energy into their tips.
What followed was a seemingly gentle sweep of my hand forward. However, the moment my gesture began, a colossal, invisible blade had already been unleashed.
Utterly silent, my spatial blade activated. The zombies surrounding the crimson glow were instantly decapitated, with only a lucky few managing to evade the fatal strike.
Such was the immense power of my spatial blade that even the white barrier, intended to contain the crimson light, was cleaved directly in half.
Yet, in the very next moment, the white barrier automatically regenerated, once again enclosing the scattered red light.
Though a large number of high-level zombies had been eliminated in an instant, my energy was simultaneously depleted. I had no choice but to immediately retrieve several crystal cores from my spatial dimension and clutch them in my hands, frantically absorbing their energy the moment the spatial blade was unleashed.
Only after the crystal cores were completely absorbed did my meager, depleted energy recover by a mere ten to twenty percent.
Despite the paleness that still lingered on my face, this amount was more than sufficient to handle the current situation.
“Sister, stay behind me.”
“Understood, Brother!”
Calling out to my sister, I lifted my foot and swiftly moved towards the source of the crimson glow.
Stunned by my sudden assault, the few remaining zombies finally snapped back to their senses, turning their heads to glare at us with fury.
Among the surviving zombies, I spotted the form of a [Sagacious Zombie].
It seemed I needed to eliminate the [Sagacious Zombie] first.
Fortunately, once this intelligent zombie was dealt with, there wouldn’t be much trouble left.
To be safe, I didn’t directly send my sister to fight these zombies. Instead, I pushed off the ground, quickly dashing into the midst of the surviving few, then extended a finger and pointed it at the zombie’s head.
Instantly, the [Sagacious Zombie]’s head was pierced by my finger, killing it on the spot.
At the same time, I glanced at the surrounding zombies. After killing a few of the more troublesome special types, I left the rest for my sister to handle.
Without waiting for further instruction, my sister raised her blade and charged at the zombies, hacking away.
I, however, retreated a few steps to the side. I wasn’t in a hurry to explore the crimson light, choosing instead to stand my ground and watch my sister slay the zombies, ensuring no accident befell her.
Though I intended to train my sister, I would never place her in undue danger.
After awakening her abilities, despite her power being healing, Bai Xia’s physical capabilities had significantly improved. Consequently, the force with which she now swung her blade was formidable.
Dealing with the few remaining weaker zombies would pose no significant challenge. Thus, seeing my sister dispatch all the surviving zombies, I nodded with satisfaction.
I then instructed my sister and Li Fenghua to collect the crystal cores from the zombies’ brains.
Turning, I immediately took a step towards the enigmatic crimson glow.
As my body drew closer to the white barrier, its ripples vibrated violently, yet they were no match for my spatial abilities.
Within a certain spatial range, I was invincible.
Therefore, after effortlessly controlling the white barrier, my body passed directly through it, walking towards the small patch of land radiating the crimson light.
Aside from the barrier obstructing me, nothing else unexpected occurred until I knelt down and began digging into the earth.
However, when I unearthed the crimson-glowing soil, I discovered a fist-sized ruby buried within it.
This ruby was crystal clear, reflecting a vivid scarlet light under the sun’s rays. It flowed into my eyes like liquid blood.
Indeed, it was a treasure of heaven and earth!
A smile involuntarily blossomed on my face as I saw the ruby buried in the soil. In the early days of the apocalypse, possessing such a treasure was akin to having a cheat code!
Imagine: when zombies were generally low-level, acquiring a treasure of heaven and earth to rapidly ascend several levels would undoubtedly allow one to effortlessly crush them.
Although my rebirth had brought back my Level 6 spatial abilities, which was conceptually similar to using such a treasure, no one would ever complain about their powers growing stronger.
Calming myself, I immediately retrieved the ruby from the soil. However, the moment my fingertips grazed the gem, a powerful electric current seemed to assault me, freezing me in place as my eyes gradually glazed over.

“Brother, I’m in so much pain! Please come help me, free me from this agonizing hell!”
Amidst a landscape of scattered flesh and blood, I saw a woman collapsed on the ground opposite me. Her hands covered her face as she sobbed incessantly.
Her long, silver-white hair was now matted with blood, as was her white gown, which had been stained crimson. Yet, from her lips, she continuously called out, “Brother…”
The familiar voice, the familiar figure—it left me utterly bewildered. It made me instinctively want to step forward and help her up.
But the moment my hand touched her body, it passed right through. What stood before me now was like a movie projected by a projector.
‘How could this be? My sister clearly has black hair, and she was just fighting zombies right in front of me. How could she suddenly transform into this?’
“Brother, you shouldn’t have abandoned me back then. It’s all because of you… because of you, I’ve become like this… Haha, they all deserve to die!”
The silver-haired woman’s sobs abruptly turned into a soft laugh. Slowly, she lowered the hands that had been covering her face.
Then, she looked straight ahead, her smile stretching wider and wider. I had already harbored suspicions, but when she truly revealed a face identical to my sister’s, I couldn’t help but retreat a few steps in shock.
It was truly my sister, Bai Xia!
“Brother, I didn’t want to become like this. But I had no choice. These people, they all deserve to die. I will kill them all. Once I’ve killed enough people, I’ll come find you…”
My sister’s face now wore a foolish smile, her eyes filled with nostalgia. She then reached out, picked up a mask from the ground beside her, and placed it on her face. The mask was merely a blank white slate, unable to even reveal facial features.
