Despite their overwhelming enthusiasm, I still didn’t give them a shred of warmth. My face remained cold as I ordered them to scout ahead.

Upon hearing my command, Big Gold Tooth immediately took off, leading the charge.

Watching the three of them disappear into the distance, I couldn’t forget that not long ago, they had tried to abduct my sister. I was merely choosing not to kill them for now.

If the situation called for it, however, I wouldn’t hesitate to eliminate them.

Just as this thought crossed my mind, Big Gold Tooth, who had rushed out first, suddenly reappeared from around a street corner, his face etched with panic. Behind him, five or six snarling zombies pursued relentlessly.

‘I really shouldn’t have kept them two hours ago…’

With a sigh, I raised a hand to my forehead. Looking at this trouble-magnet, I was overcome with regret. It would have been far better to simply ask for Brother Li’s location from the start and take my sister there myself.

We had been traveling for two hours since leaving home, covering only three streets. At this pace, we wouldn’t find Brother Li even by next year.

My sister’s eyes glowed as she looked at the zombies, and the corners of her mouth curved upwards. She looked as though she couldn’t wait to charge forward and kick them away, a stark contrast to her sweet and lovely appearance.

Seeing the eagerness on my sister’s face, I no longer tried to stop her. Instead, I drew the blade hanging at my waist and, with a flick of my wrist, offered the hilt to her.

Even though these were only early-stage zombies in the apocalypse, it was still crucial to be careful. I wouldn’t want her to get hurt by underestimating them.

“Thank you, big brother! I’m going to kill them… AHHHHHH!”

When my sister saw me offer the knife, she didn’t hesitate. She snatched it from my hand, raised the blade towards the sky, and charged forward with a triumphant cry.

“Whoa, my dear lady, please don’t chop me!”

Big Gold Tooth, who was being chased by the zombies, flinched when he saw my sister rushing towards him with the raised knife. He immediately executed an undignified somersault on the ground, rolling to the other side.

This maneuver revealed the zombies that had been behind him, clearing the way for my sister to unleash her might.

“Excellent!”

My sister, who had vomited at her first sight of zombies, had now completely overcome her fear. With a face full of excitement, she charged towards the horde, bringing her blade down onto the head of the foremost zombie.
