Chapter 57: A Familiar Face on the Road

The moment Big Gold Tooth spotted someone abruptly appearing in front of the vehicle, he slammed on the brakes.

The tires screeched to a sudden halt on the asphalt, emitting a series of ear-splitting sounds. This was accompanied by a woman’s piercing shriek, adding insult to injury for our already aching ears.

“Yes, I’ll go right away.”

Upon hearing Bai Han’s command, Big Gold Tooth swiftly unfastened his seatbelt. He then opened the car door and leaped out onto the road.

That emergency stop earlier—he was lucky Brother Bai hadn’t blamed him for it, or he surely would have been beaten to a pulp!

As he drew closer, just as he was about to unleash a tirade, he caught sight of the woman’s face. His entire body stiffened, and he stared at her, utterly dumbfounded.

“Pah! Why shouldn’t I be here? Is this your car?”

Wang Lili, the woman Big Gold Tooth had addressed, first spat on the ground. She had nearly been run over by the car, so her attitude towards Big Gold Tooth was far from pleasant.
