Chapter 68: The Price of Retribution

With Bai Han’s current Level 2 abilities, it was highly improbable for him to stop an onslaught of bullets.

However, possessing the Level 6 spatial ability that had returned with his rebirth, the situation became vastly different.

Bai Han’s spatial ability wasn’t merely for storage; it could also be wielded offensively, albeit within a limited range.

Despite this range restriction, within that confined space, Bai Han was an invincible force.

Thus, the moment Brother Li fired his pistol at Bai Han, he immediately activated his spatial ability, halting the bullets in mid-air.

Afterward, perhaps having witnessed Bai Han’s formidable power, Brother Li surprisingly offered to reconcile with him.

But alas, Bai Han had come today with a singular purpose: to end Brother Li’s life.

Anyone who dared to harm his sister had to die!

Upon Bai Han’s direct refusal, Brother Li, consumed by rage and humiliation, immediately commanded his subordinates to open fire simultaneously.

If one bullet wasn’t enough, surely hundreds would be!

Hundreds of bullets then flew towards Bai Han, their fierce momentum creating a deafening roar.

Though Bai Han knew his spatial ability was formidable, having been reborn, he dared not be overconfident. He extended a finger, gathering his power, and brought every single bullet to a complete halt.

Time itself had been stopped in the space around Bai Han, leaving hundreds of bullets suspended in mid-air, astonishing everyone present.

“My God! Oh my God! I feel like I’m dreaming right now.”

“Me too, me too. I even wonder if I’ve died, which is why I’m seeing hallucinations.”

“Bullshit! You think you can see hallucinations after death? You’d be completely unconscious!”

“Oh my heavens, I knew Brother Bai was invincible! We’re not going to die so easily.”

As Big Gold Tooth and the other two witnessed Bai Han’s miraculous abilities, their faces lit up with激动 excitement, gazing at him with the same adoration a fan shows their beloved idol.

They were practically on the verge of kneeling, begging Bai Han for an autograph as a memento.

While Big Gold Tooth and his companions were overcome with excitement, Brother Li’s group on the opposite side was equally agitated.

However, their agitation stemmed from fear. Having provoked such a powerful individual, they knew they were absolutely doomed today.

“What the hell are you all gawking at? Keep shooting! I refuse to believe we can’t shoot this brat to death!”

Amidst the panic gripping his men, Brother Li snatched a machine gun from a nearby subordinate and began firing continuously at Bai Han.

His face twisted into a ferocious snarl, as if determined to fight to the death.

In stark contrast to Brother Li’s frenzied display, Bai Han watched the ever-increasing hail of bullets, feeling a pang of distress at their sheer density, especially when the enemy showed no sign of stopping.

Having once been the leader of a mid-sized base, Bai Han naturally understood the immense fortune spent on purchasing firearms and ammunition. Seeing so many bullets being expended now, in his eyes, felt like countless crystal cores vanishing into thin air.

Brother Li, that prodigal fool!

Unable to tolerate Brother Li’s group wasting so many bullets, Bai Han shook his head gently. Then, he extended his right hand and waved it towards Brother Li’s side.

The bullets, previously frozen in mid-air, seemed to obey an unseen command! As Bai Han waved his hand, they swiftly reversed course, flying back in the direction they had come from.

The next second, the sound of bullets piercing flesh became a rapid, incessant symphony.

The very bullets that had been aimed at Bai Han now returned to their origin, embedding themselves into the bodies of Brother Li’s group.

Consequently, a group of once arrogant men now lay sprawling, most of them dead on the spot, with only a few lingering, gasping for breath.

Bai Han intended to settle scores with Brother Li later, so he controlled the bullets to avoid killing him directly.

However, while he prevented Brother Li’s immediate demise, Bai Han had no qualms about his limbs being crippled.

After deflecting the bullets, Bai Han calmly walked towards the pile of bodies.

Though he had initially thought it best not to kill lightly, less than a day into the zombie virus outbreak, Bai Han had already taken many lives.

Still, if others brought trouble to his doorstep and he didn’t retaliate, it wouldn’t be Bai Han’s style.

‘If others don’t offend me, I won’t offend them. If others offend me, I will surely offend them.’

In the apocalypse, Bai Han didn’t actively seek trouble, but he never showed mercy to those who foolishly delivered themselves to him.

After all, the position of base leader wasn’t one a kind-hearted, indecisive person could easily attain.

Yet, despite Bai Han’s self-proclaimed lack of goodness, when he was cornered and forced to die by the very people he led, he didn’t retaliate. Instead, he willingly leaped from the rooftop.

It wasn’t that he lacked the ability to kill them, but years of shared history made him unable to strike them down.

Though his personality had been reshaped by the harsh apocalypse, his emotions remained beyond his control.

Bai Han was precisely this kind of person: someone who would go through hell and high water for his comrades, without hesitation!

However, since the root of all problems was the allure of power, perhaps his escape was the solution.

Thus, after his rebirth, Bai Han swore to become stronger and to stay far away from the struggles for power.

Being free and unburdened, alone—that was good enough.

“You… who exactly are you?”

“Someone you cannot afford to provoke.”

As Bai Han reached Brother Li, he stood overlooking him, gazing down. The once arrogant Brother Li now resembled a mangy dog on the verge of being beaten to death.

Brother Li’s face was etched with despair; his hands and feet, struck by countless bullets, had left him utterly crippled.

Knowing his fate was now merely to await death, Brother Li stared at Bai Han with utter hopelessness. His words, however, revealed a burning curiosity about the identity of this sudden, formidable figure.

He had no idea when he had provoked this harbinger of death, who had now eradicated his entire stronghold.

Bai Han did not directly answer Brother Li’s question.

His smile, which had lingered, suddenly vanished after he finished speaking.

Then, with a now expressionless face, Bai Han calmly met the dying Brother Li’s gaze. Without a single wasted word, he lifted a foot and stepped onto the area between Brother Li’s legs.

Since he enjoyed humiliating women so much, he should first experience what it felt like to be a eunuch!

“Ah!”

Without holding back, Bai Han’s foot crushed Brother Li’s manhood.

Brother Li’s eyes widened in agony, and he couldn’t help but scream aloud.

“Since you dared to lay hands on my sister, you must be prepared to die.”

“You… you’re Bai Xia’s brother!”

“That’s right, I am Bai Xia’s brother.”
