Chapter 68: The Unsettling Tattoo

The sudden sound of Su Yao’s voice brought Lin Qing’s furious emotions to a halt. It was as if he had been awakened from a nightmare, and clarity quickly returned to him.

He gazed at Su Yao, who now stood before him, showing no fear of the kidnapper’s sharp blade.

His demeanor was completely at ease, devoid of any apprehension.

“Haha, my luck is truly remarkable today! Such a beautiful girl will fetch an even higher price. How fortunate!”

Upon seeing Su Yao, the kidnapper’s expression froze for a moment, then gave way to uncontrollable excitement.

He clearly hadn’t anticipated that this seemingly delicate woman possessed a ferocity far surpassing his own.

Yet, his arrogant words were grating to the ear.

To act with such brazenness in a crowded amusement park, teeming with tourists, indicated a deep-seated confidence in his backing.

This prompted Su Yao to ponder, and she quickly grasped the crucial detail.

‘So, it’s a group operation!’

‘In that case, there must be accomplices lurking nearby!’

‘Their current reluctance to swarm us likely means they are on alert.’

‘And they don’t wish to expose themselves just yet.’

Regardless, this kidnapper would not escape.

“Don’t kill him! There are surveillance cameras here!”

Just as Su Yao’s thoughts began to stir, Lin Qing’s voice suddenly rang out.

The kidnapper let out a mocking laugh, his gaze filled with disdain as he looked at Lin Qing.

‘Pah!’

‘This coward actually dares to ruin my plans!’

However, upon hearing Lin Qing, Su Yao turned her head, casting a glance at him. A faint smile played on her red lips, thinking, ‘This adorable little fellow still hasn’t grasped the situation!’

‘Since it’s a group operation, the surrounding surveillance must have been disabled by various means.’

‘In other words, even murder wouldn’t matter.’

‘But…’

‘That’s typically the case.’

‘However, right now, nothing could be entirely guaranteed.’

Therefore, Su Yao would not take any risks.

‘It seems I can only indulge in a little fun; I can’t get too serious.’

With these thoughts, Su Yao retrieved a pair of black silk gloves from her bag. She donned them unhurriedly, then lifted her gaze to the kidnapper, offering him a slight smile.

Her beautiful face and captivating smile utterly stunned the kidnapper, his eyes filling with a look of infatuation.

‘This peerless beauty… if only I could spend one night with her, it would be worth sacrificing ten years of my life!’ he thought.

However, in the very next moment, the kidnapper was filled with regret.

Su Yao suddenly lunged forward. With a single, forceful movement, she effortlessly snatched the knife from his hand. Simultaneously, she extended her leg, kicking him squarely in his left knee, causing the kidnapper to collapse directly to the ground.

Her movements were clean and decisive, leaving no room for hesitation.

At that precise moment, Lin Qing also cooperated, quickly raising a hand to cover the little boy’s eyes, preventing him from witnessing any potentially inappropriate scenes.

Just as Lin Qing had surmised, even though he knew Su Yao didn’t genuinely intend to kill, a certain degree of brutal torment was inevitable.

The knife, like a slithering serpent, savagely carved into the skin, swiftly blooming into crimson flowers.

Su Yao, much like a shark detecting the scent of blood, excitedly thrashed her tail, joyfully rolling and darting through the depths of the ocean.

Her eyes sparkled, resembling brilliant diamonds.

The kidnapper, who had been so arrogant moments before, was now suddenly overwhelmed with terror. He watched Su Yao, who was excitedly brandishing the folding knife, and saw that her beautiful face remained stunning, yet her radiant smile betrayed an unsettling abnormality.

‘This woman is insane!!!’

“How dare you treat me like this, damn it! Your death is imminent, I will never let you off!”

Fear gripped the kidnapper’s heart as he witnessed Su Yao’s unusual demeanor, yet harsh threats still spilled from his lips.

At the same time, he endured the pain, scanning his surroundings desperately for his accomplices.

Alas, his search yielded nothing.

The moment the kidnapper was struck down by Su Yao, his accomplices, who had been hiding nearby, sensed the unfavorable turn of events and swiftly retreated.

He was now utterly isolated and helpless.

Even in her excited state, Su Yao wasn’t entirely lost in the thrill. Her rationality hadn’t temporarily gone offline; instead, it remained fully engaged.

If killing wasn’t her premise, her rationality would never falter.

This was akin to the difference between an appetizer and the main course.

The distinction was clear.

Thus, she could restrain herself.

Upon realizing that the lookouts had departed, she ceased her attack on the kidnapper. Instead, she deliberately placed the folding knife back into his hand, then gracefully stepped backward.

As she moved, she removed her black gloves, folded them to conceal the bloodstains, and returned them to her crossbody bag.

Then, quickly composing herself, Su Yao approached Lin Qing and immediately let out a piercing scream.

“Ah~”

Su Yao’s scream was incredibly loud, and Lin Qing, standing right beside her, bore the brunt of it.

After Lin Qing’s ears throbbed from the deafening shriek, nearby tourists, drawn by the sound, rushed over. They then witnessed the bloodied kidnapper stagger to his feet, his face menacing, as he raised the knife and advanced toward Su Yao.

Su Yao, meanwhile, appeared utterly terrified, her face pale, and her body trembling uncontrollably, much like a delicate flower caught in a storm, inspiring pity.

Seeing this, the men who had rushed over instantly became incensed.

A group of them quickly surged forward, tackling the kidnapper directly to the ground.

“Baojun!”

As the crowd subdued the kidnapper, an anxious voice rang out. The little boy beside Lin Qing’s eyes lit up, and seeing his mother rush over, he immediately burst into tears.

Young as he was, he understood nothing, yet the events that had just unfolded had deeply frightened him.

Now, seeing his dearest person arrive, he couldn’t help but let out all his pent-up grievances, crying them out completely.

His mother’s eyes welled up at the sight. She quickened her pace, then embraced her child, patting him gently.

Witnessing this, Lin Qing didn’t hesitate, quickly explaining the entire sequence of events.

Upon hearing that her child had nearly been abducted by the kidnapper, the mother of Baojun trembled with fright. She then repeatedly thanked Lin Qing and Su Yao profusely.

At the same time, her fury toward the kidnapper blazed intensely. Even though the kidnapper had inflicted considerable self-harm, she still furiously stepped forward and landed several kicks.

‘Damn kidnapper, go to hell!’

“Lin Qing, let’s go quickly!”

Once the crowd’s attention was fully drawn to the kidnapper, Su Yao quietly whispered to Lin Qing.

Lin Qing nodded in agreement, and the two swiftly departed the scene.

Beyond Su Yao’s unrestrained actions towards the kidnapper, Lin Qing also had no desire to make another trip to the police station.

Constantly visiting the police station wasn’t a good sign.

“Phew, finally free!”

After quickly reaching the amusement park exit, no longer entangled in the incident, Su Yao spoke with a sense of relief.

She turned to Lin Qing, surprised that despite his usual aloofness, he had shown unexpected warmth and concern.

‘I can’t help but feel there’s something more to it.’

‘Perhaps it’s related to Lin Qing’s past experiences?’

‘Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so invested.’

“Su Yao, did you notice just now? That man’s arm had a distinctive tattoo.”

Just as Su Yao was pondering Lin Qing’s past, he suddenly spoke.

His brows furrowed as he recalled the tattoo’s design.

Two skull heads, savagely tearing at each other.

Such a peculiar tattoo was uncommon.

‘Could it be a gang operation?’

“Yes, I saw it. But what’s so strange about that? I’ve seen far more unusual tattoos before!”

Su Yao dismissed Lin Qing’s question, having no intention of revealing her own observations.

‘It’s better for an innocent boy like Lin Qing not to be exposed to too much negative information.’

‘Having someone like her, who embodies darkness, by his side is already enough.’
