Chapter 59: Su Yao’s Demands

After the Chinese class concluded, Lin Qing and Liu Hong were finally able to return to their seats.

Of course, before the Chinese teacher departed, they didn’t forget to cast a look of exasperated disappointment at Lin Qing.

Lin Qing, however, paid no mind to this, his thoughts consumed by how to give away the tickets.

Due to his continued attention on Wang Fanran, Lin Qing had been compelled to accept Liu Hong’s request. Now, like an arrow shot from a bow, there was no turning back; he had to see it through to the end.

[Want to go to the amusement park?]

After much deliberation, Lin Qing decided that he didn’t necessarily need to ask in person; a text message would suffice.

If Su Yao refused, he could then decline Liu Hong.

Yet, Lin Qing’s message vanished like a stone cast into the sea. By the time school let out that afternoon, Su Yao still hadn’t replied.

The message clearly showed it had been read…

Su Yao was deliberately ignoring him.

Realizing this, Lin Qing abandoned all hope of a casual resolution and decided to confront Su Yao directly.

Perhaps it was precisely because she anticipated Lin Qing’s decision that Su Yao leisurely tidied her desk, not leaving with the other students.

Instead, she waited with deliberate calm, anticipating the fish would be forced to bite the bait.

Liu Hong, who had been constantly monitoring Lin Qing’s movements, quickly signaled his lackeys with his eyes the moment he saw Lin Qing preparing to speak with Su Yao. The three of them swiftly ushered the lingering students out of the classroom.

Even the curious Zhou Lin, who wanted to stay and watch the show, was unceremoniously grabbed by his collar and dragged away by Liu Hong, preventing him from causing any trouble in the classroom.

‘A happy weekend at the amusement park with Su Yao, it all depends on my future brother-in-law now!!!’

Soon, no one else remained in the classroom save for the two of them.

Lin Qing gritted his teeth, steeled himself, and walked to Su Yao’s seat. Without any unnecessary preamble, he simply raised his hand and presented the amusement park tickets.

“Tomorrow is the weekend holiday. Shall we go to the amusement park together?”

Although Lin Qing was helping to set up Liu Hong and Su Yao, uttering the invitation himself still felt somewhat awkward.

Due to Liu Hong’s instructions, Lin Qing couldn’t mention his name. Thus, he had to invite Su Yao to the amusement park under his own name.

This kind of behavior, akin to a date between a boyfriend and girlfriend, felt incredibly strange between him and Su Yao.

While they were a normal male and female, their situation could also be described as abnormal.

Lin Qing shook his head lightly, dispelling the distracting thoughts, and patiently awaited Su Yao’s reply.

Upon hearing Lin Qing’s weekend invitation, Su Yao stopped tidying her desk. She turned her head to look at Lin Qing, who stood beside her, a hint of confusion gracing her features.

She appeared as if she hadn’t anticipated Lin Qing’s sudden invitation at all.

“Although I don’t have any other plans for the weekend, Lin Qing, why are you suddenly inviting me?”

As Su Yao spoke, she reached out and took the tickets from Lin Qing’s hand. Her lips curved into an undeniable upward smile as she gazed at the ticket holder adorned with cartoon characters.

Her eyes, as dark as ink, resembled a deep abyss, inspiring fear with just a glance.

The ambiguous, half-smiling expression that followed intensified the pressure on Lin Qing.

To Lin Qing, Su Yao was like an inscrutable book. As its pages rapidly turned, its contents became increasingly obscure and difficult to decipher.

If he could grasp a little at the beginning, then as he continued to ‘read,’ he would only find himself utterly bewildered, understanding nothing at all.

Su Yao’s current smile was precisely like that, as if she held complete control over the situation.

No subtle thought could escape her discerning gaze.

“I simply received two free tickets. Yesterday, in the Director of Discipline’s office, I was grateful you called the Principal. I wanted to invite you to the amusement park as a thank you.”

These thoughts ran through Lin Qing’s mind, yet his words flowed without hesitation.

The excuse he had meticulously prepared sounded utterly convincing as he spoke it.

Su Yao uttered a soft ‘Oh,’ lowered her gaze slightly, and then, as if lost in thought, did not immediately reply to Lin Qing.

After waiting for a few moments, Su Yao finally looked at Lin Qing and responded.

“I can go to the amusement park with you, but agreeing so quickly would feel far too immodest. So, I’ll need a condition in exchange.”

“…”

Hearing Su Yao’s words, which clearly indicated she wouldn’t allow herself to be at a disadvantage, Lin Qing knew he had no choice but to concede.

Even if Su Yao refused the amusement park invitation, Liu Hong wouldn’t say much. However, his enthusiasm towards Lin Qing would no longer be as fervent; it would gradually cool.

After all, if no benefits could be gained from Lin Qing, any sensible person would immediately distance themselves.

Liu Hong, who had approached Lin Qing solely because of Su Yao, would flee faster than a rabbit.

Although this was the development Lin Qing had hoped for, his perspective shifted after he learned that Wang Fanran had run away from home.

Even if he wanted Liu Hong to keep his distance, he first needed to uncover Wang Fanran’s whereabouts.

Compared to Liu Hong, who possessed a complex network of social connections, Lin Qing was a solitary individual, making the task of investigating Wang Fanran’s whereabouts exceedingly difficult.

Lin Qing had initially been unwilling to continue entanglement with Wang Fanran. Yet, every time Lin Qing believed Wang Fanran would settle down, the other would suddenly lash out, stab him, and then vanish.

And then do it again next time.

Therefore, he needed to keep track of Wang Fanran’s movements to feel at ease.

Given this, unless Su Yao flat-out refused, Lin Qing couldn’t give up as long as there was any sign of agreement.

“What do you want?”

“It’s simple. Let me see your face.”

Su Yao showed no surprise at Lin Qing’s concession.

She sat in her chair, gazing up at Lin Qing, still only able to make out his slightly pointed chin and a patch of pale skin, so starkly white it seemed he hadn’t seen the sun in ages.

Her previous curiosity about Lin Qing’s appearance resurfaced once more at this moment.

She wanted to see Lin Qing’s face.

However, upon hearing Su Yao’s words, Lin Qing’s body stiffened.

Even without seeing his facial expression, his resistance was evident in the change of his posture.

He looked utterly unwilling.

Su Yao shook her head regretfully, yet she didn’t press the matter. Instead, she offered Lin Qing a second option.

“If you don’t agree to that, then… kiss me here!”

“…”

Subsequently, listening to Su Yao’s new demand, such audacious words, Lin Qing couldn’t discern an ounce of modesty in her.

These were simply not words a normal girl would utter!

“Here, not anywhere else.”

However, as Lin Qing was rendered speechless, Su Yao continued to speak.

As she spoke, she raised the fingers of her left hand and slowly caressed her rosy lips under Lin Qing’s gaze. Her movements were delicate, imbued with a hint of temptation, and her dark eyes brimmed with anticipation.

She awaited Lin Qing’s initiative.

“Can’t you change the request?”

“No.”

Seeing that Su Yao’s mind was made up, Lin Qing realized he had only two options.

One was to reveal his face, the other was to kiss Su Yao.

Compared to revealing his appearance, a kiss, something he had already experienced, seemed easier.

This prompted Lin Qing to make an immediate decision, and he no longer hesitated.

He quickly leaned down, raised a hand to cup Su Yao’s cheek, and prepared to finish it swiftly.

Yet, the moment his warm lips made contact, before Lin Qing could even pull away, Su Yao reached up with both hands, hooked them around his neck, and forcefully deepened the kiss.

It was an overwhelming onslaught, impossible to resist.
