Chapter 139: The Rooftop’s Unveiling and a Mastermind’s Game

Upon hearing keywords like ‘rooftop’ and ‘murder,’ Lin Qing’s head snapped up, his gaze immediately sharpening with alarm.

The academic building was not particularly tall, rising only five stories high.

Those with keen eyesight could discern the general scene unfolding. This allowed Lin Qing to witness Liu Ying, a person who had not appeared before him until now, suddenly materialize at the very edge of the rooftop, her neck clamped tightly in someone’s merciless grip.

As expected, something terrible had happened.

Yet, the unfolding events deviated slightly from Lin Qing’s prior expectations. It wasn’t Su Yao who was committing the murder herself.

Since that morning, a persistent sense of unease had compelled Lin Qing to keep a close watch on Su Yao.

His vigilance was solely aimed at preventing Su Yao from committing murder.

However, judging by the current situation, Su Yao appeared to be uninvolved.

After all, the person choking Liu Ying was clearly not Su Yao.

It was someone else entirely.

Nevertheless, Su Yao’s past actions strongly suggested she was orchestrating something from the shadows.

This incident, Lin Qing was certain, could not be entirely unrelated to her.

On this point, Lin Qing was absolutely convinced.

Even during the previous slaughterhouse murder plot, Su Yao had never fully concealed her intentions. At times, she would deliberately reveal snippets, much like baiting a hook.

Regrettably, Lin Qing had not considered this aspect at the time, leading him to overlook those crucial details.

Yet…

Having experienced it once, Lin Qing was determined not to repeat the same mistake. This time, he not only observed meticulously but also made several careful arrangements.

He would absolutely not allow Su Yao’s murderous plot to succeed.

“How truly terrifying! To commit murder during the school festival, with so many students watching!”

As Lin Qing harbored these thoughts, Su Yao, who stood beside him, suddenly spoke.

Though her words expressed concern, they were delivered in a surprisingly light tone, tinged with a strange, almost gleeful schadenfreude.

It was as if the puppet master behind the scenes was proudly displaying their masterpiece.

When Lin Qing turned his head to look, he saw Su Yao’s face etched with a grave expression, her eyes slightly wide as she stared at the rooftop. At the same time, she raised a hand to cover her mouth, feigning shock.

Her perfectly normal reaction made it seem as though Lin Qing had merely been overthinking things.

However, sensing Lin Qing’s gaze upon her, Su Yao turned her head as if by instinct, their eyes meeting and intertwining in the air.

Up close, Su Yao’s dark eyes resembled terrifying whirlpools, capable of sucking away one’s entire soul with just a single glance, leaving nothing behind.

It was a chilling dread that made one want to avert their gaze, to prevent their body from becoming an empty shell, devoid of life.

Yet, Lin Qing persisted, refusing to break eye contact.

He simply watched Su Yao.

As Su Yao’s dark eyes subtly trembled, her delicate hand, which had been covering her mouth, slowly lowered. A corner of her lips curved into an undisguised smile, confirming Lin Qing’s suspicions.

‘It really is her!’

Su Yao had initially thought she could maintain the facade for a while longer, but she hadn’t anticipated Lin Qing would catch on so quickly this time.

To ensure the day remained thrilling and unpredictable, Su Yao had refrained from monitoring Lin Qing’s phone.

She had given Lin Qing complete freedom in all his actions.

She simply wanted to observe how events would unfold.

“Why are you doing this?”

Seeing Su Yao drop her pretense, Lin Qing sighed inwardly before posing the question aloud.

Su Yao raised a hand, placing her index finger to her lips, an expression of profound thought gracing her features.

“For fun?”

After the word ‘fun’ escaped her lips, Su Yao saw Lin Qing’s speechless expression and knew she shouldn’t tease him any further.

Any more, and he’d get agitated.

“I just found her an eyesore,” Su Yao explained. “Besides, you know about my unique nature, so what does it matter who I kill?”

As she spoke, Su Yao moved closer to Lin Qing, her arms encircling his shoulders from behind. She leaned in, whispering softly into his ear.

The corners of her eyes curved upwards, faintly flushed with excitement, and her warm breath sent shivers down his spine.

Her words, laced with amusement, echoed in Lin Qing’s ear, while Su Yao’s sudden embrace felt surprisingly warm.

It was almost enough to make one forget the terrifying nonchalance hidden within Su Yao’s words.

No matter how accustomed one became to it, such things could never be considered normal!

“You won’t succeed.”

Listening to Su Yao’s words by his ear, Lin Qing took the hand resting on his chest. As he brought it to the side of his face, he turned his head and gently rubbed his cheek against her palm.

Su Yao paused, then couldn’t help but smile, a flicker of anticipation in her eyes.

“Holy shit, I’m not seeing things, am I? That girl up there is completely naked!”

“Oh my god, I saw it too.”

“There’s a man up there as well!”

“Is this a murder, or some kind of passionate performance?!”

As Lin Qing and Su Yao spoke, the surrounding students gasped once more. Those who had been previously uninterested immediately craned their necks towards the rooftop upon hearing the words “completely naked.”

Indeed, at the edge of the rooftop, a naked woman was being choked.

What’s more, it appeared they were engaging in certain indescribable acts, shockingly audacious.

‘They’re still just children!’

‘How could they be watching something like this!’

Consequently, among the students gathered below, some quickly raised their hands to cover their eyes, peeking through their fingers nonetheless.

On the rooftop of the school’s academic building, Wang Meng’s hand was clamped around Liu Ying’s neck.

He was thrusting vigorously, reveling in the exhilaration that violence brought him.

He had given Liu Ying a chance earlier that day.

He had specifically called her.

However, Liu Ying had completely disregarded him, adding his number to her blacklist.

‘Did she truly believe that would be enough to get rid of him?’

‘Dream on!’

Driven by his desire to be with Liu Ying, Wang Meng had already divorced his ‘old hag’ wife.

Even when his wife, unwilling to let go, had knelt before him with their child, it failed to sway Wang Meng’s heart. Instead, it only filled him with utter disgust.

Such an old, ugly woman, devoid of any charm, should have simply gotten lost when told. Instead, she had forced him to resort to violence, drawing the attention of nosy neighbors.

He detested it.

Fortunately, after countless threats, his wife finally agreed to the divorce.

The moment he received his divorce certificate, Wang Meng felt an overwhelming sense of freedom.

Even though he had lost his job recently due to his entanglement with Xiao Yu, becoming unemployed, Wang Meng remained unconcerned.

He still had some savings, enough to sustain him for a while.

His plan was to turn Xiao Yu, this escort girl, into his personal property, binding her to him. Afterwards, he could go out and pimp her.

It might even earn him more than a regular job!

After all, every man desired a taste of young, fresh girls.

Conveniently, he knew many who shared this appetite, making it even easier to profit.

Wang Meng’s plans were meticulously laid, yet their execution encountered a snag.

The previous day, after having s*x with Xiao Yu, Wang Meng lay in bed, smiling as he produced his divorce certificate. He then pulled a box containing a diamond ring from his pocket, intending to propose to Xiao Yu.

The diamond ring appeared expensive, but it was, in fact, a fake.

Wang Meng merely sought to secure a long-term bed partner; he wasn’t genuinely fond of Xiao Yu, the escort. He simply didn’t want to spend any more money, so why would he buy a real diamond ring?

A simulated diamond ring was more than sufficient.

However, before Wang Meng could even open the ring box, Xiao Yu’s expression abruptly changed.

She then raised her hand and smacked the box Wang Meng offered directly into his face. With a look of utter disdain, she told him to take a good look at himself in the mirror.

‘How dare he utter such words?’

‘Marriage?’

‘Pah!’

‘Dream on!’

Witnessing Xiao Yu’s disgusted reaction, a stark contrast to her usual gentleness, Wang Meng’s fury instantly ignited. He rose abruptly and delivered a resounding slap across Xiao Yu’s face.

Just as he was about to force himself upon her, Xiao Yu let out a bloodcurdling scream, like a pig being slaughtered.

This immediately drew the bouncers from the establishment, who rushed over to ensure the safety of the women working there.

Following that, Wang Meng, still struggling with his pants, was promptly tossed out of the establishment by the bouncers. They warned him that if he dared to pester her again, they would make him ‘look good.’

The bouncers were all burly men, covered in tattoos, their mere presence intimidating and terrifying.

Naturally, Wang Meng, being no fool, decided discretion was the better part of valor. He grabbed his clothes and slunk away.

On his way back, the more he thought about it, the more indignant he became.

He believed that his interest in Xiao Yu, an escort, was a blessing she had earned over eight lifetimes. Yet, this ‘b*tch’ dared to reject him.

The more he dwelled on it, the angrier he grew.

However, when Wang Meng returned home in a furious state, he discovered a letter tucked into his doorframe.

The letter’s appearance was sudden; Wang Meng had no recollection of it whatsoever.

Upon opening the envelope, he immediately found a key and a piece of paper with printed text.

After reading it carefully, Wang Meng was surprised and delighted to discover that it revealed Xiao Yu’s true identity, her school, and her class. It also stated that Liu Ying would be on the academic building’s rooftop the next morning.

Though he didn’t know who had sent the letter, it filled Wang Meng with immense glee. He now had another opportunity to deal with ‘that little b*tch, Liu Ying.’

Subsequently, Wang Meng immediately burned the envelope, ensuring it wouldn’t be discovered later and lead to difficult explanations.

The next day, he called Liu Ying, intending to give her one last chance. However, Liu Ying brazenly refused him.

‘In that case, she had no one but herself to blame!’

Seizing a moment when no one was paying attention, Wang Meng arrived at the school and used the key to unlock the rooftop door. He then tossed the key downwards and began to wait patiently.

Once he had “waited by the stump for the rabbit” and Liu Ying arrived on the rooftop, he intended to utterly humiliate ‘that little b*tch.’

And just as he had anticipated, Liu Ying indeed arrived!

The school festival was conveniently taking place nearby, drawing a large crowd of onlookers. Wang Meng was so exhilarated he nearly soared.

Now, with the scandal about to explode, Liu Ying could forget about continuing her studies here.

She would have no other option but to marry him.

Even if the police apprehended him afterwards, he wouldn’t be held for long. As long as Liu Ying, the victim, agreed to a settlement, he would be released swiftly.

Then, he would resume his pimping scheme.

“You damned bastard, what do you think you’re doing?! Get off Xiao Yu right now!”

However, just as Wang Meng was basking in his delightful thoughts, the rooftop door, which he had securely locked, suddenly burst open from the outside.

Then, a muscular maid suddenly appeared, her booming voice instantly deflating Wang Meng.

‘Damn it!’

‘Who is this person?!’
