Join the ServerAfter realizing she couldn’t physically restrain Lin Qing, Su Yao looked over.
Remaining here offered no advantage. Worse, if Chen Sen discovered them, various complications would arise. Their only option now was to flee.
On the way here, as the guards escorted Su Yao, she observed her surroundings but noticed no surveillance cameras.
Furthermore, the guard, utterly captivated by Su Yao after she removed her black mask, had inadvertently revealed that the abandoned slaughterhouse lacked any surveillance equipment.
This was due to their fear of leaving any incriminating evidence.
As the guard spoke, he seemed to recall something, appearing hesitant and troubled, clearly indicating a deeper issue.
However, at the time, Su Yao had no interest in these details.
Her reconnaissance of the surroundings was solely to prevent any unforeseen incidents that might hinder the smooth execution of her murder plan.
Thus, upon learning that not even a pinhole camera existed, she proceeded with her plan confidently. Even if Dog Brother was formidable, he wouldn’t stand a chance against the power of the anesthetic, especially considering Su Yao’s own formidable strength.
The anesthetic was merely an additional layer of insurance.
Su Yao was not one to engage in such foolishness, choosing arduous methods when a convenient and swift one was available.
Afterward, just as Su Yao had anticipated, Dog Brother fell smoothly into her trap.
Yet, just as Su Yao was about to sever his throat with her own blade, Dog Brother suddenly mentioned the whereabouts of Lin Qing and Liu Hong, using them to threaten her.
“If you want to save your companions, then release me,” he had snarled, “otherwise, we all die together!”
His dogs were exceptionally vicious and numerous, capable of tearing a person apart without any trouble.
As Dog Brother spoke, a triumphant expression had marred his face, only to morph into sheer terror the next instant.
Su Yao had not released him because of his words. Instead, she had abandoned her initial thought of killing him outright.
She opted for a slow, agonizing torment.
Since Dog Brother had subjected Lin Qing to such peril, it was only fitting that he now experienced a taste of true suffering himself.
As for worrying about Lin Qing’s safety…
When she had finally come to her senses, she recalled Lin Qing’s gaze upon her. It had been serious and profound.
A man with such intense emotions would never succumb to a minor hardship. He would fight with his last breath to reach her.
Su Yao, exhilarated by the impending success of her murder plan, had not been as calm as usual. Her mood had remained in a state of continuous ecstasy.
However…
Accidents always struck so suddenly.
Lin Qing had truly appeared, successfully stopping her.
Pondering these thoughts now, Su Yao looked up at Lin Qing. She knew this sweet trouble could neither be killed nor discarded; he could only be kept close and guarded carefully.
“I have something I want to ask this man.”
After Su Yao had observed him, Lin Qing spoke directly, without beating around the bush, stating his purpose.
Hearing this, Su Yao merely pondered for a moment before immediately guessing Lin Qing’s intention. ‘Are you interested in the letter Chen Sen sent?’
As Su Yao’s guesses hit the mark repeatedly, Lin Qing nodded.
Before arriving at the abandoned slaughterhouse, Lin Qing had been skeptical of Wang Fanran’s words.
He hadn’t been able to fully believe them.
But after everything he had experienced at the slaughterhouse, he now believed them for the most part.
Even if Chen Sen’s gang wasn’t abducting children, they were undoubtedly involved in illicit activities.
The kind that endangered society!
Therefore, if he could obtain inside information, he might gain a clearer understanding of the current situation.
“When he came in, he was in such a hurry to take off his pants,” Su Yao recounted. “I didn’t see any letter. It must have been a verbal message.”
Responding to Lin Qing’s curiosity, Su Yao recalled the events carefully before detailing what had transpired.
Upon hearing Su Yao describe Dog Brother’s lecherous impatience, Lin Qing’s expression shifted, prompting Su Yao to let out an involuntary laugh.
‘She seemed to understand.’
‘Why Lin Qing was covering his face with his hair.’
‘Because she was terrible at disguising her emotions.’
Whatever she thought, the corresponding expression appeared on her face, making it easy to read.
“Don’t worry, he hadn’t finished undressing,” Su Yao reassured him. “I had already sprayed him with anesthetic… Not searching him beforehand was my mistake, allowing him to be captured.”
Su Yao held Lin Qing’s hand, not letting go. She raised his hand, pressing the back of it against her cheek.
As she spoke, her gaze towards Lin Qing was filled with a touch of delight. It was undeniable.
Just as she was interested in Lin Qing, he was now reciprocating.
This was a positive development.
Lin Qing flinched at the soft touch, gazing at Su Yao’s sweet, charming smile, her bright black eyes blinking playfully. He knew this beautiful enchantress was trying to tempt him again.
Regardless, he needed to ask his questions to set his mind at ease.
Resisting the urge to fall into the abyss of her charm, Lin Qing raised a hand to gently push Su Yao away. Then, he walked over and crouched before the severely weakened Dog Brother.
Liu Hong, who had been observing from the sidelines, had seen enough of Lin Qing and Su Yao’s affectionate antics.
‘Couldn’t they just *not* flaunt their affection?’
‘His mouth was full of dog food.’
‘Wuwu, no one understood the pain in the heart of a recently heartbroken man!’
“What message did Chen Sen send you?”
Although Dog Brother’s face was deathly pale, as if he might pass on at any moment, Liu Hong’s timely bandaging and treatment had stopped the bleeding, ensuring his life was no longer in danger.
He would only remain weak for a period.
However, upon hearing Lin Qing’s question, Dog Brother ignored him, feigning unconsciousness with closed eyes.
In response, Lin Qing picked up the dagger Su Yao had just discarded and plunged it directly into Dog Brother’s thigh.
Lin Qing’s expression was one of faint indifference, his gaze chillingly fixed on Dog Brother.
The next moment, Dog Brother cried out in pain and opened his eyes, glaring at Lin Qing with intense venom.
“Speak.”
Lin Qing showed no mercy. Meeting Dog Brother’s resentful gaze, he immediately pulled out the dagger.
He then forcefully plunged it down again.
“Stop, I’ll talk, I’ll talk!”
However, just as the tip of the blade was about to pierce Dog Brother’s thigh again, he finally gave in.
“I can’t keep bleeding like this, he’ll definitely die!!!”
By now, he felt utterly dizzy, as if he might pass out at any second.
Yet, he stubbornly remained conscious.
It was as if he was making a final stand.
Dog Brother’s face twitched uncontrollably as waves of excruciating pain assailed his thigh, making him grimace.
After calling for a halt and seeing the dagger’s tip mere inches away, he realized that neither Lin Qing nor Su Yao were ordinary people.
He had initially thought Su Yao was a lunatic, but Lin Qing’s actions were even more ruthless.
‘Two lunatics!’
Cursing them now would only hasten his demise.
“The message Chen Sen sent,” Dog Brother began, “is a new order from our organization, ‘Dark Scions,’ to accelerate the cultivation process.”
Dog Brother dared not conceal anything further. Upon hearing him mention the organization, a scene from the amusement park flashed rapidly through Lin Qing’s mind for some inexplicable reason.
This prompted him to cut straight to the chase. He used the knife to slice open Dog Brother’s clothes, immediately revealing a skull tattooed on his upper left arm.
Unlike the tattoo on the kidnapper’s arm at the time, the skull on Dog Brother’s arm was clad in a black robe, its face expressionless, wielding a scythe in a swinging motion. It looked utterly sinister from every angle.
However, the two skulls tearing at each other on the kidnapper’s arm were highly distinctive, unlike typical skull designs, making it impossible for them to be a mere coincidence or repetition.
Now, the tattoo on Dog Brother’s arm was identical to the kidnapper’s skull tattoo.
It merely featured an added black robe and scythe, and one less skull.
“Is this a unique tattoo of your organization? Why aren’t there two tearing skulls?”
A flicker of surprise crossed Dog Brother’s eyes as he listened to Lin Qing’s words.
He clearly hadn’t expected Lin Qing to know such intricate details.
Aside from internal members of the organization, ordinary people would never know the appearance of the skull tattoos.
This was because the organization had a rule against displaying tattoos to outsiders.
The specially treated tattoos served to confirm the identity of organization members.
They were vastly different from ordinary tattoos.
“Speak quickly!”
Seeing Dog Brother hesitate, his eyes darting about, he was clearly devising other tactics and was unwilling to answer the question.
This prompted Lin Qing to immediately raise his hand and swing the knife. After Dog Brother’s thigh bore another bloody gash, he no longer remained silent, but spoke honestly.
“That’s the mark of a low-level member of the organization,” Dog Brother explained. “A single skull is the lowest rank, two skulls signify a mid-level rank, three skulls—” He paused, then continued, “—four skulls are elite, and five skulls are super-level.”
Whether by coincidence or not, as Lin Qing listened to Dog Brother’s words, his mind momentarily drifted, and he nearly lost his grip on the knife.
‘Why?’
‘This organization, ‘Dark Scions,’ actually used skulls to denote ranks!’
Moreover, five skulls… Before meeting Su Yao, among all the people Lin Qing had encountered, five skulls were the most he had seen.
It was too much of a coincidence.
“Why is your skull different from theirs?”
“I am a mid-level member of the organization,” Dog Brother replied, “demoted here for making a mistake.”
With another bloody gash on his thigh, Dog Brother felt the dizziness in his head intensify.
He vigorously shook his head, stubbornly fighting to remain conscious.
If he succumbed to unconsciousness from excessive blood loss in his current state, there was a high probability he might never wake up again!
He had to hold on until others arrived to save his life.
Although he had no idea why this brat named Lin Qing was so curious about the organization, he swore that once he escaped this predicament, he would exact his revenge.
‘He would flay these people alive!’
“What do the tattoos of the organization’s high-level members look like?”
While Dog Brother seethed with these thoughts, Lin Qing continued to voice the questions burning in his mind.
As he gleaned more insider information from Dog Brother, an indescribable surge of complex emotions swelled within Lin Qing, reaching its peak.
It was like a fish tank already filled to the brim; any more water would inevitably cause it to overflow.
This feeling of his mind on the verge of exploding made Lin Qing’s heart pound furiously.
By this point, Dog Brother was already suffering intensely.
“There are only a few high-level members,” Dog Brother stammered, “I heard they have skull demons holding scales…”
Immediately, upon hearing Dog Brother’s next words, Lin Qing’s mind went utterly blank.
‘Scales!!!’
