Chapter 109: The Drunkard’s Rage and Sister Hua’s Arrival

Encountering a drunkard looking for trouble in the chaotic red-light district was an entirely common occurrence.

Lin Qing glanced at the top of the drunkard’s head. He consciously retreated a few steps, avoiding any further entanglement with the man.

Unfortunately, sometimes trouble was unavoidable.

As the drunkard witnessed Lin Qing’s retreat, a surge of anger flared within him. Swaying on his unsteady, drunken legs, he lunged to grab Lin Qing’s collar, only to grasp at empty air.

Lin Qing moved swiftly, his steps too quick for the drunkard to even brush his sleeve.

“Lin Qing, are you alright?”

Seeing Lin Qing under attack, Liu Hong quickly rushed towards them. Once he confirmed Lin Qing was unharmed, his gaze snapped to the drunkard, eyes blazing with fury.

Upon seeing Liu Hong’s towering figure, the drunkard instinctively flinched. However, as if remembering something, he suddenly became agitated.

“Damn it, damn those wild men who stole my wife! Waaah, I’ll kill you all!”

The drunkard slurred his words, his steps wobbly. Fueled by alcohol-induced bravado, he clenched his fist, aiming a punch at Liu Hong’s face.

Liu Hong merely raised an eyebrow, clearly not taking the drunkard seriously.

‘With such unsteady steps, how much force could he possibly muster?’

‘Instead of puking in some back alley after too much to drink, what kind of display was he trying to put on here?’

‘He’d picked the wrong targets!’

Just as Liu Hong was about to test the drunkard’s strength, Lin Qing intervened. He swiftly grabbed Liu Hong’s arm, pivoted, and pulled him back several steps, preventing any contact with the drunkard.

“Don’t mind him.”

Lin Qing then continued to guide Liu Hong, effortlessly evading the drunkard’s clumsy attacks, as if playing a game of ‘eagle catching chicks’.

The drunkard, playing the role of the eagle, lasted only a short while before collapsing onto the ground, panting heavily.

His middle-aged paunch, a protruding beer belly, rose and fell with each labored breath, presenting a somewhat comical sight.

With his flushed face, it was clear the drunkard had consumed a significant amount of alcohol and was simply making a drunken spectacle of himself.

“Brother Liu, don’t be impulsive!”

After Lin Qing had ‘played’ with Liu Hong for a while, Zhou Lin’s voice rang out, urgent and hurried. He no longer cared about admiring the pretty ladies; instead, he called out to Wang Jian, rushing towards them.

Zhou Lin had just witnessed the drunkard charging at Liu Hong, fists flailing, while Liu Hong showed no intention of dodging. It had scared him witless.

‘Given Brother Liu’s temper, if he actually got hit, he would undoubtedly beat this drunkard into whimpering submission.’

‘Normally, they could just hit him, then run off.’

‘There were no surveillance cameras here anyway. Even if the drunkard reported it, it wasn’t as if they could be found instantly. The case would simply fizzle out eventually.’

‘However, now they were wearing such distinctive uniforms, and people were watching.’

‘It was a case of being able to run from the monk, but not the temple…’

Fortunately, Lin Qing was there to prevent trouble from escalating.

‘Lin Qing, well done!’

“How unlucky! It’s our first day on the job, and we’ve already run into such a jinx! To be so drunk in broad daylight—I’m truly speechless.”

After quickly reaching Liu Hong’s side, Zhou Lin gazed at the drunkard with a frustrated expression, muttering about their misfortune.

‘If he had known it would be this dangerous, he would have asked his relatives to arrange a better place for them.’

‘They wouldn’t have encountered such incidents then.’

“Brother Liu, don’t bother with this guy. We can’t let things get out of hand with this job.”

Initially, Zhou Lin hadn’t worried about Liu Hong causing trouble. After all, Liu Hong wasn’t some hothead who would pick a fight with a drunkard.

‘But he had just clearly seen the drunkard try to lay hands on Lin Qing…’

The last person Liu Hong had held in high regard, Su Yao, had merely been slandered, and Liu Hong had beaten the culprit into the hospital.

Now that it was Lin Qing, Zhou Lin feared history would repeat itself.

Thankfully, his worries proved unfounded.

Liu Hong, hearing Zhou Lin’s words, immediately cast a frustrated glance at the drunkard. He knew that, just as Zhou Lin said, they couldn’t let the situation escalate.

‘He had finally gotten the chance to work with Lin Qing; he couldn’t let a mere drunkard ruin it.’

“Quick, toss this guy aside. Just looking at him makes my blood boil.”

With that, Liu Hong averted his gaze from the drunkard. He waved a dismissive hand towards Zhou Lin and Wang Jian, signaling for his younger brothers to handle the drunken nuisance.

Seeing this, Zhou Lin immediately walked towards the drunkard, intending to make him leave.

‘If he dared to disrupt their work, they’d simply take it from his wallet later!’

“Uncle, go home and sleep! Don’t disturb us while we’re working!”

Zhou Lin raised a hand to push the drunkard’s arm. However, the drunkard’s half-closed eyes suddenly snapped open. He instantly slapped Zhou Lin’s hand away, then began mumbling incoherently.

“Wife, I can’t bear to lose you! Why did you run off with someone else? Waaah, I hate it so much!”

Zhou Lin rubbed the back of his hand, which throbbed from the slap. He watched the drunkard’s pathetic state and immediately recoiled several steps in disgust.

He wanted to avoid being embraced by the drunkard and getting any filth on his clothes.

‘That would be utterly revolting!’

‘Still, hearing his words, it seemed this drunkard had been cuckolded!’

‘No wonder he was drowning his sorrows in alcohol.’

“But that was no excuse to disrupt other people’s work.”

“I’ll say it again: if you don’t leave, I’ll call the police.”

Hmm…

Before Zhou Lin could finish his sentence, the drunkard suddenly sprang up from the ground. He swiftly closed the distance, grabbing Zhou Lin’s arm.

His movements were quick, his agility surprising.

‘He certainly didn’t look like a man burdened by a beer belly.’

Then, with a sickening retch, the drunkard vomited all over Zhou Lin.

In that instant, Zhou Lin felt as though a rainbow of vibrant, repulsive colors had erupted across his body.

‘At that moment, he wished he could die.’

Beside them, Liu Hong couldn’t help but make a face of utter revulsion. He pinched his nose, trying to block out the putrid smell of vomit.

Then, seeing Zhou Lin’s expression of utter despair, Liu Hong suddenly found himself struggling to suppress a laugh.

While laughing at such a moment might have been inappropriate, Zhou Lin’s face was simply too comical to resist.

‘To encounter such a thing on their very first day of work was truly unlucky.’

As Zhou Lin’s mind snapped back to reality, he felt a wave of disgusting odor spreading across him. His fists clenched instinctively.

They hardened.

His fists were rock-hard.

“Zhou Lin, hold back, hold back! Don’t do anything rash!”

Seeing the ominous expression on Zhou Lin’s face, Wang Jian quickly spoke up, reminding him to control his temper and not resort to violence.

‘He had just been telling Liu Hong not to be impulsive; Zhou Lin shouldn’t make the same mistake himself!’

“Hahahaha, you all deserve to die!”

Just as Zhou Lin was struggling to suppress his rage, the drunkard, having finished vomiting, stood up. He then clapped his hands and burst into maniacal laughter.

His face was a picture of schadenfreude, his wide grin adding to the taunt.

Every second challenged Zhou Lin’s limits.

“Oh my, isn’t that Master Wang? What are you doing making a drunken scene here?”

Just as Zhou Lin felt he could no longer tolerate it, a surprised voice rang out. Following it, a bewitching cheongsam-clad woman suddenly approached them.

As she spoke, her gaze wasn’t on the drunkard; instead, it was fixed intently on Liu Hong.

‘Such a tall, robust body—he must be thrilling in bed.’

‘And his youthful aura would double the pleasure. She couldn’t let this young man slip away today.’

‘She absolutely had to lure him into her bed for some fun.’

Liu Hong felt the cheongsam-clad woman’s undisguised, fiery gaze. His brow furrowed involuntarily; he had no interest in women who threw themselves at him.

‘Right now, he simply wanted to kick the drunkard away.’

“Sister, do you know this man? We’re trying to clean up, but he insists on causing trouble here, making it impossible for us to focus on our work.”

Zhou Lin’s simmering anger, which had been on the verge of erupting, instantly dissipated as the cheongsam-clad woman approached.

His eyes, unable to tear away, covertly lingered on her ample curves.

The cheongsam-clad woman chuckled softly, clearly not bothered by his direct gaze.

‘This was her capital for captivating men; why would she dislike it?’

‘However, the young man speaking had a rather pungent smell about him.’

The cheongsam-clad woman’s expression remained unchanged, but she did not advance further. Instead, she maintained a distance from Zhou Lin.

Then, she shook her head, looking at the drunkard, who was still laughing maniacally.

“This Master Wang just spent eighty thousand yuan on drinks at our establishment,” she explained. “He was incredibly generous, apparently because his wife ran off with someone else, so he’s on a revenge spending spree.”

“Ah, well, Sister…”

“Call me Sister Hua.”

After Sister Hua flashed a captivating smile, Zhou Lin felt as though his very soul was about to depart his body!

‘What a truly beautiful woman!’

Compared to the naive girls at school, Sister Hua exuded a mature charm that particularly captivated men of Zhou Lin’s age.

This ignited a fervent warmth within Zhou Lin. However, remembering that the drunkard problem was still unresolved and they needed to continue working, he immediately spoke to Sister Hua.

“Since he was a guest at your establishment, Sister Hua, please take him away now. We need to get back to work.”

“Hmm? Why should I take him? Master Wang has already left my establishment; he’s not my guest anymore, you know!”

Sister Hua, however, had no intention of accepting this trouble and flatly refused.

She then turned her gaze back to Liu Hong. Now that they were closer, seeing his muscular arms, Sister Hua felt an excited clenching in her legs, her mouth practically watering.

‘Her purpose in coming over wasn’t for a customer, but for this delectable young man!’

“You despicable adulterers, you’ll all die a terrible death! I’ll kill you all, aaahhh!”

As Sister Hua flatly refused, the drunkard, who had been foolishly laughing, became anything but quiet. He started yelling and screaming, running wildly everywhere.

‘They couldn’t just punch him unconscious.’

Liu Hong didn’t remain rooted to the spot. He walked towards Zhou Lin, preparing to discuss the situation seriously.

‘If all else failed, they’d just call the police.’

‘Given their inability to act freely, encountering such a drunkard was simply their bad luck!’

No sooner had Liu Hong moved away than the drunkard suddenly darted towards Lin Qing. However, Lin Qing promptly seized his arm.

“You dog of a man, I…”

The drunkard, his eyes half-open, glared at Lin Qing, continuing his stream of curses.

“Haven’t you already killed them?”

Lin Qing’s softly spoken words, imbued with a hint of mockery, caused the drunkard’s eyes to snap wide open.

‘How did he know?’
