Su Yao locked the warehouse door right in front of him. The room plunged into darkness, obscuring her expression, leaving only her ink-black eyes shining with a frightening intensity.
As she spoke, she began to move, drawing closer to Lin Qing.
The sharp click of her black patent leather shoes echoed as they approached, each step a beat against his heart, a stark reminder that she was coming for him.
“Things are different now.”
Despite the circumstances, Lin Qing forced himself to remain calm. He watched as Su Yao came to a stop before him, his voice cold as he spoke.
He had already made his decision; there was no need to waver.
Su Yao was synonymous with trouble.
To get entangled with her was to invite an endless storm of it.
“At school, don’t you and I…”
But before Lin Qing could finish his sentence, Su Yao took another step forward.
In the darkness, her breath ghosted across his ear, sending a shiver down his spine.
At that moment, Su Yao took his right hand and placed it on her waist, pulling their bodies flush against each other.
Her waist was pliant, and through the fabric, Lin Qing could feel the distinct, searing warmth of her skin.
It was almost hot enough to burn.
Lin Qing was already well acquainted with Su Yao’s strength. He knew it was useless to struggle, so he remained still, simply waiting for her next move.
“Only I get to make the decisions. You’re not allowed to resist, you know.”
Su Yao didn’t seem angered by his words. Instead, her voice held a hint of amusement.
She placed one hand on his chest, and with the other, she raised a single finger to his lips. She traced their outline, a slow, deliberate caress, as if satisfying some private desire.
She tormented him without end.
But before she could go any further, Lin Qing shot his hand out and seized her wrist.
He squeezed slightly.
“Su Yao, that’s enough.”
As he spoke, his chest rose and fell in time with his turbulent emotions.
The movement caused Su Yao’s other hand to tremble, allowing her to feel the frantic rhythm of his accelerating heart.
“What is it you really want? My obedience?”
Faced with Su Yao’s renewed advances, Lin Qing knew she was reinforcing her trap, ensuring the prey already caught within could not escape.
When a hunter can’t deal with their catch immediately, the only choice is to keep it contained.
The best time to strike is after the prey has exhausted itself, struggling and ramming against the bars of its cage until it’s too weak to fight back.
There was no doubt that Su Yao was a masterful hunter, capable of capturing any prey she set her sights on.
But even so, Lin Qing had no desire to be her quarry.
And so, he wanted to make things clear, right here and now. If she wanted his submission, then she would have it.
A submission devoid of will—anything to make her lose interest.
“Too bad, you guessed wrong. The only thing I want is you.”
But her response in the next second was completely unexpected.
It made Lin Qing’s eyes widen slightly. He had no idea what she meant.
When had she changed her mind?
“What’s the point of feigned obedience? Don’t you understand yet, Lin Qing? Anything I want, I will have. Even if I have to destroy it, I will never let it go.”
Perhaps guessing his thoughts, Su Yao continued. She glanced at his hand gripping her wrist, and with a sudden twist, she pulled free, taking his hand with hers.
Then, her soft, moist lips pressed against the back of his hand, sending a wave of tingling numbness through him.
It felt like she was leaving an indelible brand.
It was forceful and domineering, leaving him no room to retreat.
Lin Qing’s body went rigid. He immediately let go of her hand.
“What’s the point of all this?”
“Simply because I enjoy it.”
Hearing the helplessness in his voice, Su Yao stared straight at him. Even in the dim light, he could clearly feel the intensity of her domineering gaze.
She was like a wolf baring its fangs, a leopard coiled to spring.
She was in the midst of a hunt.
One wrong move, and she would pounce, tearing him to shreds.
A cold sweat instantly broke out across his back, causing his tracksuit to cling to his skin.
Sensing his stiffness, the ever-considerate Su Yao quickly averted her gaze.
She removed her hand from his chest, instead looping both arms around his neck. She pressed her face intimately against his, the corners of her lips tilting up as she spoke.
“So, stop trying to run away. Because if you make me angry, things will become very difficult for you.”
Her voice was quiet, but to Lin Qing’s ears, it crashed like thunder.
Though her tone was gentle, it was laced with a threat, a clear warning not to make the same mistake again.
Otherwise, the next time, she wouldn’t be so gentle.
In that moment, the turmoil that had plagued Lin Qing for the past two days was forcibly swept away. He was trapped in the web Su Yao had woven, left to struggle and thrash, but with no hope of flying free.
Whether the end would bring ruin or release, no one knew…
“I understand. I won’t run anymore.”
Having grasped the reality of his situation, Lin Qing could only accept his fate.
Besides, his original plan to make her grow bored of him had already failed due to his own stiffness. Continuing down that path would have led to the same result.
If he couldn’t escape, then he had no choice but to face the assault head-on.
He couldn’t choose his circumstances, but the switch to his own heart was still in his hands.
“Good boy.”
Hearing his submission, Su Yao’s mood brightened considerably. She decided not to torment poor little Lin Qing any longer, choosing to let him off the hook for now.
Her mentality remained the same as always. She enjoyed approaching her prey slowly.
The more precious the quarry, the more cautious the approach.
That was what made the game interesting.
With these thoughts in mind, Su Yao let out a soft laugh. As she began to stand up straight, she couldn’t resist leaning in to press a light kiss against the corner of his lips.
It was as gentle as a dragonfly touching the water’s surface, yet it sent ripples across the entire lake.
*Creak—*
Just as Su Yao straightened up, the warehouse door was pushed open.
“Su Yao, are you two okay? I saw the door was locked, so I rushed to get the key from the teacher—”
Liu Hong’s voice entered along with the light, but his words trailed off mid-sentence.
He stared, dumbfounded, at the intimate posture Su Yao and Lin Qing were in. To make matters worse, one of Lin Qing’s hands was resting on the small of Su Yao’s back—a jarring sight.
No matter how you looked at it, it was not how a brother and sister should behave.
“Yes, thanks. It was just too dark in here.”
As Liu Hong stood frozen, Lin Qing felt his gaze and quickly pulled his hand away from Su Yao’s waist. Su Yao, however, replied with nonchalance.
The lie came effortlessly.
There wasn’t even a hint of hesitation.
Lin Qing couldn’t help but glance at her, his eyes meeting hers. He saw a sly, mischievous smile spread from her eyes to her lips, which curved upward ever so slightly.
