Chapter 22: The Green-Skinned Attack

Qin Yu and his group stayed in the town for a day before setting out again toward the Holy City.

In just that single day, the three of them had become quite familiar faces in the town—a strange master-servant trio.

“Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!”

The one most incensed was naturally Luna.

Why did she, a former god, have to serve as a servant to a Tier 7 vampire and a Tier 1 human?

To her, Qin Yu and Yin Feixue were essentially gaslighting her.

“Xiao Xue, don’t eat all the emergency rations I bought.”

To prevent a food shortage in the early stages of the territory, Qin Yu had purchased a pile of ingredients; however, Yin Feixue had already begun feasting on them.

Since being awakened by Qin Yu, she hadn’t eaten much, so now she was naturally going to have a proper meal.

“What does it matter? If it’s gone, we can just buy more…”

Yin Feixue wasn’t being polite at all, and Qin Yu had given up on lecturing her—he’d let her eat her fill since he wasn’t short on money now.

The caravan continued its journey.

In the distance, a girl dressed as a monk stopped when she heard the sound of hooves behind her.

She had overestimated her stamina; after walking for a whole night, she was practically exhausted.

Even in a game, her stamina wasn’t infinite—the game was incredibly realistic.

To unlock fast travel, one had to touch nearby teleportation points, so running across the map to open them was essentially a requirement for the first time.

‘Should I ask for help?’

The girl thought this to herself, but she didn’t want to trouble others, especially since she was penniless and had little understanding of the game.

As the sound of hooves and wheels grew closer, the caravan guards noticed the monk walking alone on the road.

However, they were in a hurry and didn’t plan on stopping, driving straight past her.

“…It’s still… no good…”

The girl ultimately didn’t dare ask for help and could only encourage herself to keep pushing forward alone.

The caravan drove a bit further before stopping to rest.

“Servant, did you notice an Outworlder just now who looked like you?”

Taking advantage of the break, Yin Feixue took the initiative to speak with Qin Yu.

“A player?”

Qin Yu didn’t expect to encounter a player in such a desolate wilderness.

The Main World was vast, and right at launch, there were only about a million players worldwide.

Not everyone could afford the expensive gaming equipment, and since players were scattered everywhere, encountering one was rare.

Major cities were fine, but in small towns, they were practically non-existent.

Guilds could huddle together, but solo players truly only had the natives for company.

“If you see her again, remember to remind me, Xiao Xue.”

Qin Yu naturally couldn’t sense her; only beings Tier 7 or higher could perceive some information about others.

If a player stood before Qin Yu without identifying themselves, he wouldn’t know.

This was a point of criticism in his past life, but players eventually got used to it, finding that interacting with native NPCs was quite interesting.

After resting for a while, they prepared to set off again.

“Something’s happening…”

Yin Feixue sensed a large number of creatures approaching.

Suddenly, volleys of arrows flew out from the mountains, targeting the caravan.

“Enemy attack!!!”

The caravan guards reacted instantly, and the head merchant scrambled into his reinforced carriage, trembling.

“Go check the situation!”

“Yes, sir!”

“The rest of you, protect the caravan with me!”

“Understood!”

Another volley of arrows followed, this time carrying fire.

Upon landing in the caravan, they ignited the carriages; many horses panicked, broke their reins, and bolted.

“Put out the fires, quickly!”

The guard captain barked orders, his men scrambling to respond. The guard sent to scout returned.

“Captain, it’s those Greenskins!”

“There are thousands of them, organized. There might be a leader.”

“Damn it!”

He hadn’t expected to run into the detestable Greenskins. The guard captain began organizing his men.

The so-called Greenskins referred to green-skinned Goblins and Orcs; they were the most common monsters in Fate Paradise.

Though weak, their reproductive capacity was extreme.

Because their race was cursed, they were only male; to reproduce, they relied on females of other races, and a single birth could produce at least five offspring…

‘An organized Greenskin army is indeed troublesome…’

In his past life, the Greenskin tribes were enemies to most players for various reasons.

Aside from those who enjoyed NTR scenarios, other “pure love” players couldn’t wait to wipe the Greenskins off the face of the Main World.

However, even in the late game, they were never eliminated; they were like a deep-rooted green virus that could never be fully eradicated.

“Should I act?”

Yin Feixue asked Qin Yu after seeing the guards struggling desperately.

“Not yet. If you act now, you won’t be able to wipe them all out. If we’re going to act, we must annihilate them in one go.”

These Greenskins were the textbook definition of “bullying the weak and fearing the strong.”

If you were weak, they’d fight you relentlessly; if you were strong, they’d flee immediately.

Taking advantage of the terrain, the Greenskins whittled down the guards’ energy from a distance; once their arrows were spent, they would charge the caravan.

That would be the moment to strike and wipe out the majority of them.

“Why are these ugly creatures so cunning?”

Luna asked, puzzled.

Her understanding of Greenskins was stuck in the past; back then, such creatures wouldn’t have formed such a capable army.

“Well, I can only say times have changed. No matter how ugly a species is, a genius can be born among them…”

Originally, these guys weren’t this smart.

However, a remarkable Emperor was born among them, as well as a human woman who wanted to help them fight fate.

In his past life, this was a large S-rank world quest in the early stages called “Green Forest Crisis.”

In Fate Paradise, “Greenskin Tribe” is the common name used by players and natives, but “Green Forest Tribe” is the official naming.

Under the command of that Goblin Emperor and the human woman, the Green Forest Tribes grew increasingly powerful, destroying many human cities and villages.

They looked as if they were about to threaten human dominance.

Consequently, humanity organized a grand army to launch a war of annihilation against them.

In the beginning, the Green Forest Tribes held the advantage using guerrilla tactics, but faced with absolute power, they were eventually proven to be vulnerable.

The joint army of players and the Holy See crushed and destroyed the Green Forest nation established by the Goblin Emperor.

Both the Emperor and the human woman died in the final battle.

However, Qin Yu later learned that the Goblin Emperor hadn’t died; instead, he had hidden away with the woman’s corpse, waiting for a chance to rise again.

No matter how many times he was defeated, this Goblin Emperor never gave up on leading his race back to glory.

It was just that later on, everyone became so powerful that they no longer took this weak race seriously.

As for the identity of that human woman, it was related to the news Qin Yu intended to trade with the Holy See in the Holy City…
