Chapter 26: Reencounter with Don Quixote

After listening to Qin Yu’s account, Monet sat in her seat in silence, finding Saintess Daisie’s fate difficult to accept.

The thought that her holy predecessor had fallen to such an end dealt a significant blow to her.

“Since I have shared this information with you, I require some compensation.”

Qin Yu hadn’t come here out of the goodness of his heart; his primary goal was to obtain resources from the Church of the Holy Light.

“Compensation?”

Monet’s gaze shifted to Qin Yu; while the information he provided was shocking, its authenticity had yet to be verified.

Demanding compensation now seemed a bit overconfident.

“I plan to establish my own territory on the Central Continent, so I need some assistance.”

Hearing this, Monet understood; many Outworlders had already sought to establish territories on the Central Continent and requested cooperation from the Holy See, and the Radiant Sanctuary had already provided aid to some.

“I will report this to the Radiant Sanctuary and have them—”

Qin Yu interrupted her. “No, I don’t want the standard package from the Radiant Sanctuary. I have my own plan…”

Saying this, Qin Yu produced another badge. Monet froze again upon seeing the blood-stained insignia.

“This… this is a Bishop’s Badge. Where did you get this?”

“Lanava. That name shouldn’t be unfamiliar to you, right?”

Qin Yu showed Monet the name engraved on the back of the badge.

“Bishop Lanava…”

Another familiar name. Monet felt a wave of dizziness; this blood-stained badge meant that Bishop Lanava had already…

“My condolences, Lady Saintess. Bishop Lanava was corrupted in the Blood Soul Realm and lost himself; we granted him his final rest.”

“…”

Monet didn’t know what to say; perhaps this was a form of liberation for the Bishop.

The expedition to the Blood Soul Realm was one of the greatest mistakes the Holy See had ever made.

“Thank you for your mercy. For a follower of the Holy Light, death is the best end when one is tainted by evil.”

Out of respect for the fallen Bishop, Monet stood and bowed her head in mourning.

Now, Monet’s trust in Qin Yu had increased significantly.

She agreed to his request to help build his territory and promised to provide a certain level of support.

Having achieved his goal, Qin Yu bid his farewell. Before he could leave, Monet called out to him.

“Mister Qin Yu, I will personally verify the information regarding Saintess Daisie. If it proves true, you will be a dear friend of our Church.”

“Then I wish you luck. A friendly warning: if you do see Saintess Daisie, do not be soft-hearted. She is no longer the predecessor you remember.”

“Thank you for your counsel. I will keep it in mind.”

After watching Qin Yu and his group leave, Monet headed back to the Pope’s Hall to relay these matters to the Pope and the others before a final decision was made.

Inside the Holy City.

Don Quixote was shopping for weapons and equipment with a group of companions.

She was planning to form a small guild—an all-female guild with no male members.

To fund this, Sugar had sold her two extra purple-grade weapons, successfully reaping over a million yuan in startup capital.

However, Territory Cores were proving difficult to obtain, and she currently had no good solution.

The price of Territory Cores on the auction house had been driven up to over a hundred million; buying one now was truly not worth it.

Sugar wasn’t short on money, but she refused to top-up in the game, believing herself to be a skilled player who didn’t need to “pay to win.”

Including her, there were five girls in total. Sugar had covered all their equipment, providing each with a set of blue Excellent-grade gear.

“Sugar~! I love you!”

Being the center of the team, Don Quixote was deeply beloved by the other members.

Who wouldn’t love a wealthy “little rich girl” who was also great at games?

“Oh, stop being so cheesy. Let’s think about what to do next. Without a Territory Core, we can’t build our own guild territory. It’s a real headache…”

Sugar was still fretting over the core.

“Why not just spend the money to buy one?”

A small girl with a bun hairstyle whose ID was [Glutinous Rice Ball] suggested.

“No, Sugar doesn’t like paying to win,” a tall girl with a “candied hawthorn” hairstyle and the ID [Candied Hawthorn] answered for her.

Sugar was indeed wealthy, but she preferred to crush her enemies with skill rather than her wallet.

“Then we’ll just have to live under someone else’s roof and find a guild with handsome guys to mooch a territory from!”

The girl with the ID [Rock Sugar Pear] couldn’t help but say excitedly.

“Absolutely not! We said no men!”

A girl with the ID [Aged Vinegar], who was extremely averse to the opposite s*x, countered strongly.

“What’s the big deal? Looking at handsome guys is good for your mental and physical health~”

Rock Sugar Pear refused to give up on her fantasies.

Sugar was still contemplating their next move.

If all else failed, they could only hope to drop a wild Territory Core by hunting monsters, though the odds were lower than winning the lottery.

Suddenly, her gaze fell upon a familiar figure, and her eyes lit up.

“Qin Yu!!!”

Across the street and from quite a distance, Sugar’s shout drew the attention of every passerby.

Further away, Qin Yu looked over toward Don Quixote in confusion.

‘It really is a small world…’

Qin Yu hadn’t expected to see Sugar here again, so he had no choice but to go over and say hello.

“Why is it that guy again?”

Yin Feixue wasn’t fond of Don Quixote, and as for Luna, she didn’t know Sugar at all.

Seeing that Qin Yu had yet another female follower by his side, Sugar couldn’t help but feel a twinge of bitterness. Is this what a pro is like?

When her gaze met Yin Feixue’s, she felt a chill run down her spine, and she slightly regretted calling out to him.

“Don Quix-oat, right? I didn’t expect us to meet again.”

Qin Yu got her name wrong immediately without even realizing it.

Sugar was about to correct him—it was “ote,” not “oat”—but her companion beat her to it.

“Hi~! Handsome, I’m Sugar’s friend. Just call me Pear~!”

Rock Sugar Pear, dressed as a monk, took the initiative to strike first, leaving the others dumbfounded. Does this girl have to flirt with every handsome guy she sees?

“Hello. Just call me Qin Yu.”

“Is that your real name?”

“You guess?”

Qin Yu’s ID was Wing-Yu, but he didn’t mind revealing his real name. If he didn’t say it was his real name, who would know?

“Ahem, Pear, wait a second.”

Sugar dragged Rock Sugar Pear back before stepping forward to speak to Qin Yu herself.

“Can we add each other as friends now?”

“No problem. I keep my word.”

“I want to add you too!!!”

Rock Sugar Pear suddenly piped up again.

Sugar was about to decline on Qin Yu’s behalf, but then something happened that made her want to cough up blood.

“No problem.”

Qin Yu actually agreed immediately!

Then why on earth did he say they had to wait until the next meeting before adding her?

Don Quixote suddenly felt like she had been deceived by this detestable man.

Or was it that this guy simply preferred girls like Rock Sugar Pear?
