Chapter 47: So that’s it? That’s it?

The army of over three hundred soldiers from Ten Directions Extinguished had already caught sight of Qin Yu’s territory.

“Guild Master, that’s it. Their territory seems to be linked to Avalon.”

Seeing the vine architecture characteristic of Avalon, Storm could not help but curl the corners of his mouth. This was simply heaven-sent assistance.

His Dragonborn army was uniquely suited to counter plant-based structures, meaning the duration of the battle would be drastically reduced.

“Have our Dragonborn archers initiate a volley of fire arrows later, and form a combat formation around the Dragonborn mages…”

Storm’s tactical objective was clear: use fire attacks to dismantle the defenses of Qin Yu’s territory, then have his strongest unit—a Tier 4 Dragonborn mage—act as the primary damage dealer and carry the fight.

Though there was only one, it was more than enough to deal with this tiny Level 1 territory.

Inside the territory, the children under Qin Yu’s command were already standing by. Their fighting spirit could be considered exceptionally strong.

Thanks to their harsh lives in the Soul Realm, they hadn’t been corrupted or weakened by the power of the Blood Church.

“Hong, defense isn’t really your forte; just focus on protecting the others from harm.”

Qin Yu had high hopes for Hong’s potential; if she matured a bit more, she could become his right hand just like Hicari.

“Yes, My Lord!”

Hong followed Qin Yu’s orders with absolute seriousness.

Outside, the Dragonborn archers of Ten Directions Extinguished were ready.

“They’re attacking. Luna, use your [Lantern Festival under the Moon] to block their arrow fire.”

The only one on Qin Yu’s side with area-defense magic was Luna; Yin Feixue only knew offensive magic.

“Watch and learn!”

The domain created by [Lantern Festival under the Moon] gleamed brilliantly under the illumination of the ghostly blue paper lanterns.

“Fire!”

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Dozens of flaming arrows flew toward the territory, igniting the vine wall and spreading the flames.

However, the burning vines were not destroyed; instead, they emerged reborn from the ashes, undergoing a complete transformation. The newly regenerated, moisture-rich vines extinguished the flames entirely.

“Hehe, with me around, this kind of fire isn’t enough~”

As a fairy, Nanafu was capable of controlling plant growth and altering their properties accordingly.

“First, release the decoys to draw their fire.”

Following his pre-arranged plan, Qin Yu had the children deploy a surprise wave of Blood-shadow Bats to raid the enemy army.

The children, now Blood Believers, began their chants. Over a hundred Blood-shadow Bats were summoned, swooping down toward the army of Ten Directions Extinguished.

“Bats? How is that possible?”

Storm fell into deep thought upon seeing the enemy’s attack. Based on prior intel, the opposing territory’s units should have been primarily Church and Avalon units with limited combat capabilities, yet they were now using Blood Clan power.

It was utterly baffling.

These Blood-shadow Bats were the best choice for harassing the enemy, but the Dragonborn army had a powerful counter.

The Tier 4 Dragonborn mage released a torrent of [Flame Breath], sweeping a wide circle that reduced the swarming Blood-shadow Bats to ash.

“No matter what they are, as long as the Dragonborn mage is here, it’s not a problem.”

Storm was overjoyed by the combat power displayed by the Dragonborn mage. This was only a Tier 4 mage unit; if there were enough of them, it would be apocalyptic. The saying that mages were the favored children of the system proved to be entirely true.

“A Dragonborn mage… truly a top-tier unit among caster classes, but a single one isn’t enough to impress.”

According to Qin Yu’s next phase, the Blood Believers were to launch a combined attack, aiming to decapitate the enemy army’s high-tier combatants—specifically targets around Tier 4 and Tier 3.

“Fifteen Tier 3s, one Tier 4. Truly not enough.”

The Blood Believers chanted in unison, summoning a massive blood-red magic array on the battlefield outside. From its center emerged a gigantic blood-red bat.

It was a Tier 5 [Blood-Sustaining Giant Bat]. Normally it would be Tier 6, but the children’s strength was still insufficient, so it had to be downgraded by one tier to reduce the mental strain on them.

SCREEECH!

The fully materialized Blood-Sustaining Giant Bat unleashed a massive ultrasonic wave attack, instantly stunning the army of Ten Directions Extinguished. The Tier 1 and Tier 2 units were temporarily deafened.

“What on earth is that thing?!!”

The members of Ten Directions Extinguished were utterly bewildered. How could such a massive monster suddenly appear? Was that even reasonable?

“What the hell, is this balanced?”

“On the surface, they look like Avalon, but their tech tree leans toward the Blood Soul Realm?”

“Impossible. How did they get Blood Soul Realm unit structures? Other guilds that picked the Blood Soul Realm haven’t even heard of this…”

The Blood-Sustaining Giant Bat was a Tier 6 elite creature that served as a summoned unit. Under normal circumstances, it couldn’t exist independently; it required several casters as anchors to fight.

Its strength was equivalent to a Tier 6 elite boss, capable of going toe-to-toe with Tier 7 legendary beings.

Even though it had been weakened to Tier 5, its deterrent presence could not be underestimated.

The Blood-Sustaining Giant Bat slammed its wings downward, sending dozens of Tier 1 Dragonborn foot soldiers flying.

With another horizontal sweep, half of the two hundred low-tier units were instantly wiped out. The bat then began devouring the corpses of the Tier 3 units.

The original fifteen Tier 3 units were instantly slashed down to just six.

As for the Dragonborn mage, it had long since been protected to prevent the bat from succeeding.

“What do we do, Guild Master? The enemy is stronger than we thought. Should we retreat first?”

“Yeah, where did this giant bat even come from? Let’s fall back, or we’ll all end up dead here.”

The subordinates were growing restless, and some simply used teleportation scrolls to escape. Storm felt a surge of rage in his heart.

He never expected to lose to Don Quixote. “We’re settling this score!”

Because the army couldn’t be entirely recalled with city scrolls, Storm still had to lead them in a retreat.

The appearance of the Blood-Sustaining Giant Bat caused their forces to collapse instantly. Qin Yu had initially thought these fellows would hold out a bit longer, but they fled almost as soon as the fighting started. The only regret was that the Blood-Sustaining Giant Bat hadn’t even had the chance to fully unleash its combat power.

After cleaning up the remaining forces, Don Quixote and her group arrived, staring in utter disbelief.

Was that really it?

“Brother Yu is amazing as expected. He defeated that annoying guy using just these children—truly incredible~!”

Rock Sugar Pear began her usual praise-singing routine. Qin Yu was long since immune to it.

The Blood-Sustaining Giant Bat dissipated into a swarm of minor bats, and the children collapsed onto the ground, utterly exhausted. Summoning the bat placed a massive burden on them; they would need to reach at least Tier 3 or 4 to safely manifest and command it without issue.

“Leave the rest to the Amazon warrior sisters. Don Quixote, remember—you owe me a favor.”

Qin Yu was never one to work for others for free. Either pay up in cash, or pay in labor—take your pick…
