X
The Greenskin army’s attack continued; the hundred-man guard unit was struggling to keep up.
The guard captain didn’t dare lead a charge into the mountains; doing so would be a death sentence since that was where the Greenskins excelled in combat.
Even with his Tier 5 strength, he didn’t dare act recklessly.
A Tier 2 creature could damage a Tier 5, and among those Greenskins, the Orcs were mostly at Tier 2 or higher; they could overwhelm him with sheer numbers.
For now, his only options were defending and extinguishing the fires.
Inside the carriage, the merchant trembled, unsure of the situation outside, hoping his Tier 5 captain could handle it.
“Attack!”
The Greenskins in the mountains finally moved; thousands of Goblins and Orcs charged the caravan like a nauseating wave of slime.
“Prepare to engage the enemy!”
The guard captain bellowed, and the guards, full of pent-up rage, prepared to slaughter the Greenskins.
Goblins acting as the vanguard leapt into the caravan and began wreaking havoc.
Hearing the sounds of destruction, the merchant held his head and cowered in the carriage, while the guards clashed with the Greenskins outside.
The sound of clashing steel filled the air.
Hisses and screams came from the Greenskins.
Roars and cries of pain came from the guards.
The monk girl, still traveling, saw the fires ahead and quickened her pace to see what was happening.
Within the caravan, the battle reached a fever pitch.
“Hah!”
The guard captain cut down a Goblin with every strike; these Tier 1 Goblins were mere appetizers to him and posed no real threat.
Zip!
An arrow suddenly struck the captain’s shoulder.
An Orc leader stood in the distance, drawing his bow and watching him.
“Is that their leader?”
After pulling out the arrow, the captain furiously unleashed a skill.
“Whirlwind Slash!”
He instantly tore through dozens of Goblins before charging toward the Orc who had sniped him.
“Piercing Strike!”
The captain lunged with high speed, but with a Clang, another Orc with a shield rushed in to block the hit.
The captain leapt back to create space.
Other Goblins and Orcs swarmed him, surrounding the guard captain.
“Good! I’ll wipe you all out at once!”
Activating his skill again, the captain decapitated the weak Goblins with a single rotation, spraying blood onto the other Greenskins.
The Orc leader licked the blood from the corner of his mouth and let out a roar.
The Greenskins moved in unison, besieging the guard captain.
‘The situation looks a bit dire. This captain is too impulsive. Decapitating the leader is the right move, but charging in alone is just reckless…’
Even if your Tier 5 strength is greater than that Tier 4 leader, he has minions; wearing you down is easy.
Squelch!
Greenskins heading for Qin Yu’s group were impaled from bottom to top by Yin Feixue’s Blood Spikes.
To be honest, that looked like a very painful way to die.
“Xiao Xue, you can act now. Make it quick.”
“Just watch, servant…”
Yin Feixue’s eyes glowed with bloodlust.
“[Blood Fear]!”
The pressure of the Blood Clan was released; not only the Greenskins, but even the guards were frozen in shock.
The merchant, hearing his carriage being battered by Goblins, had almost wet himself; the moment [Blood Fear] hit, he actually did.
The guard captain, already covered in wounds while fighting the Orcs, also froze.
‘She’s… Tier 7…’
He hadn’t expected a Tier 7 follower to be by Qin Yu’s side.
Rising slowly into the air, Yin Feixue waved her hand downward, and the entire surrounding area turned into a swamp of blood.
“[Blood Swamp]!”
Crimson tentacles emerged from the swamp, dragging the Greenskins down; the weak Goblins couldn’t even move before being swallowed.
The Orcs struggled for a moment before they, too, were exhausted and pulled under.
The Tier 4 Orc leader hadn’t expected such a powerful existence to be in the caravan; if he had known, he never would have attacked.
Unfortunately, there were no “ifs.”
“Die!”
The guard captain took the opportunity to decapitate the Orc leader, and the corpse was subsequently dragged into the swamp.
Once the Greenskin army was eliminated, the terrifying swamp slowly dissipated, and the guards let out a sigh of relief, having feared they might be caught in it too.
“Tch…”
Yin Feixue had stolen the spotlight, making Luna, the former Moon God, very unhappy.
If it weren’t for her being stuck at Tier 4, she wouldn’t have to let a Tier 7 show off in front of her.
In her original Tier 10 state, she could have reduced everyone here to ash with a single snap—including Qin Yu and Yin Feixue.
A casualty count was conducted: twenty-eight guards were dead, and over forty were injured to varying degrees.
“Thank you, Mister Qin Yu, for your assistance!”
The guard captain bowed gratefully.
“It’s nothing. I just helped out along the way.”
Qin Yu could already feel Yin Feixue’s annoyed gaze; she was the one who had actually acted, yet these people were thanking him instead.
“If you want to thank someone, thank her.”
“Ah, of course. Our deepest thanks to you, Miss Yin Feixue!”
Only then did Yin Feixue’s mood balance out slightly.
The guard captain treated Yin Feixue and Luna as automatons sent by the Alchemists’ Union to protect Qin Yu; he didn’t treat them as ordinary people.
As for how Qin Yu interacted with them, the captain merely dismissed it as Qin Yu’s personal hobby.
Nearby, the newly arrived monk girl was terrified by the scene; thousands of Greenskins had been wiped out in an instant—that silver-haired girl was too powerful.
“…”
When her gaze fell upon the guards’ corpses on the ground, her pupils contracted; she thought of something terrible and nearly collapsed.
“Hmm?”
Yin Feixue noticed the movement and saw it was the person she had seen earlier on the road, so she pulled her over with her power.
“Ah!!!”
The monk girl let out a cry of alarm as her body drifted uncontrollably through the air, coming to a stop in front of Yin Feixue.
“Servant, this is the one I mentioned.”
Qin Yu nodded in understanding and offered a kind smile.
“Hello. You’re a player, right?”
“Mmm…”
The girl nodded fearfully; if this person was a player, she should be safe, right?
Yin Feixue set the girl down.
Once her feet hit the ground, her legs trembled so much she almost sat down, but Qin Yu caught her.
“Thank you…”
At Qin Yu’s touch, the girl’s face flushed slightly.
She instinctively started to make a hand gesture, but then realized she didn’t need to in the game and lowered her hand.
She was truly bad at interacting with others, especially the opposite s*x.
“You’re heading to the Holy City too, right?”
Looking at her starting equipment, Qin Yu guessed her destination, and she nodded.
“Were you at the Radiant Sanctuary before?”
“Mmm.”
The girl nodded again, wondering how he knew everything.
“Then we’re going the same way…”
