Chapter 42: The Goblin Deliveryman

After completing their purchases, Don Quixote and her companions returned to the territory.

“Are Qin Yu and the others back yet?”

Sugar and her group prepared to rest comfortably in the Lakeside Villa.

Yin Feixue saw them return but didn’t greet them; she wasn’t particularly close to Sugar’s group.

“Sugar! Look at this!”

[Candied Hawthorn] walked over holding a clump of something that looked like jelly.

“What is that?”

“It should be… something delicious.”

[Glutinous Rice Ball] reached out, grabbed the “jelly” from Hawthorn’s hand, and ate it immediately.

“Hey! Little Rice Ball! How can you just eat random things!”

[Aged Vinegar] wanted to make her spit it out, but it was already gone.

“It’s in a game; it’s fine,” Rice Ball replied nonchalantly.

“……Right.”

[Aged Vinegar] almost forgot. The game was just too realistic.

“That stuff was brought by the forest elf and the little fairy; they said it can be used to clean your body.”

Yin Feixue sat at the table, watching the girls, and remarked.

“So, it’s not for eating?”

The others looked at Rice Ball, who tilted her head and said, “But, Rice Ball thinks it tastes good.”

“…”

The others didn’t know what to say. Besides, it was a game; even if she ate something… foul, it wouldn’t actually matter, but that didn’t make it any less gross!

Meanwhile, Qin Yu had successfully cleared the three bandit strongholds. The children had leveled up to Tier 2, and Hong, thanks to her accumulated experience, reached Tier 3. Qin Yu was still 100 XP short of Tier 2, though he wasn’t in a hurry; his personal level mattered less than the overall strength of his army.

The training was highly effective. Qin Yu’s group returned to the territory with a wealth of confiscated bandit supplies, saving him the cost of buying more.

Yin Feixue, who had been sipping flower tea brought by Hicari, suddenly sensed something and vanished from the table. Qin Yu and his group had returned, and Yin Feixue was the first to arrive to greet them.

“Servant, you were a bit slow.”

Yin Feixue’s tone was flat; it was impossible to discern any care in her voice.

But Qin Yu knew her well—appearing at the very first moment clearly meant she had been worried about him.

“Xiao Xue, thank you for coming to meet us so quickly.”

“Servant, I think you’ve misunderstood. I only came out to see if there was an enemy invasion.”

Yin Feixue’s lack of candor made Qin Yu feel close to her; in his eyes, this was exactly the person she was.

“You really are enough.”

Luna couldn’t stand Yin Feixue’s attitude. She was Tier 5 now and feeling a bit more emboldened.

“A mere servant of a servant, daring to talk back to your master’s master just because you leveled up?”

It looked like these two were about to clash again.

“Alright, alright, both of you, keep it down. Let’s head back first. We brought back plenty of supplies from our trip; let’s hold another banquet.”

“Yes!”

The children were naturally delighted by the mention of a banquet. Even Luna and Yin Feixue stopped bickering—a banquet meant good food, which was a nice activity.

“I feel like the Lord’s interpersonal relationships are a bit strange,” Nanafu whispered into Hicari’s ear while sitting on her shoulder.

“You like banquets too, don’t you, Nanafu?” Hicari didn’t answer the question, asking one of her own instead.

“Of course! I’m taking all the apples at this banquet!”

Nanafu had polished off a significant portion of the apple stock at the last banquet; for some reason, she was obsessed with them.

The group returned to the territory and began another banquet—this time, a victory celebration.

The next morning, everyone was still sleeping after the previous day’s festivities.

Suddenly, Yin Feixue’s Bloodwood Coffin opened. She looked toward the sky.

In the distance above the territory, several Goblin airships were flying toward them.

“Ha~ah…”

Qin Yu was also woken by the movement. He walked over and asked, “Xiao Xue, what’s wrong?”

On the bed, there was an empty spot next to Luna, who was sprawled out taking up the whole bed with a smile on her face, apparently dreaming of something wonderful.

“There are aerial units approaching.”

“Oh~ they must be the Goblin airships. I asked Sugar to order fifty Goblin robots earlier; are they here already?”

Qin Yu was surprised by the Goblins’ delivery speed; he had expected it to take three days.

“So, it was a false alarm?”

Yin Feixue gave Qin Yu a resentful look.

“Well, can’t say that for sure, Xiao Xue. What if they’re enemies? We’d better go out and see~”

Qin Yu forced a smile; anyone would be grumpy after having their sleep interrupted, especially Yin Feixue.

Yin Feixue didn’t say anything and walked out, with Qin Yu following close behind.

“Good morning, My Lord and Lady.”

An early-rising Hicari greeted them as they stepped out.

“Lady?”

Yin Feixue asked with a questioning tone.

“Isn’t that the case?”

Hicari fell into self-doubt—what if she had spoken incorrectly and displeased the Lord?

“Yes, of course it is.”

Qin Yu intervened to smooth things over.

“He is currently just my servant.”

After dropping that line, Yin Feixue turned away, refusing to let Qin Yu see her expression, and walked off. Hicari was left confused again—was the relationship between humans and vampires really this complex?

“Hicari, don’t worry about it; Xiao Xue is just being stubborn.”

Yin Feixue’s expression had been clearly happy just a moment ago.

“Yes, My Lord.”

After talking to Hicari, Qin Yu chased after her.

In the distance, the Goblin airships approached.

“It really is the Goblin airships.”

Qin Yu looked at Yin Feixue, who remained silent, and they waited quietly for the airships to land.

Eight Goblin airships touched down in Qin Yu’s territory.

Several Goblins disembarked and began unloading the robots. An individual dressed as the person in charge walked toward Qin Yu. Qin Yu couldn’t really tell the difference between Goblins, as they all looked roughly the same.

“Respected Lord, greetings~ I am Jin Rui, the representative of the Holy City’s Goblin Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for ordering fifty of our Goblin robots. I’m sure they will create great value for you and your territory~”

The Goblins always had such strange ways of speaking.

“However, before signing off, please pay the remaining balance.”

Qin Yu nodded and poured 1,250,000 gold coins from his storage. Seeing so much gold, Jin Rui was overjoyed, instructing his men to count and bag it before handing over the manifest for Qin Yu to sign.

“Pleasure doing business, noble Lord. Would you be interested in applying for our Goblin Chamber of Commerce savings card? It’s universally accepted in the Main World, so you won’t need to carry large amounts of gold. Withdraw anytime…”

Seizing the opportunity, Jin Rui began promoting their savings card service, which was considered one of their few “honest” products.

Savings card tiers from low to high:

Bronze Card (10 gold deposit, 3 gold fee, 1 gold annual fee)

Silver Card (10,000 gold deposit, 3 gold fee, 10 gold annual fee, partial 5% discount)

Gold Card (100,000 gold deposit, 3 gold fee, 50 gold annual fee, partial 10% discount)

Platinum Card (1,000,000 gold deposit, 3 gold fee, 100 gold annual fee, partial 20% discount)

Black Gold Card (Priceless, no fees, no annual fee, 50% store-wide discount, currently no way to obtain)

“I’ll take one of those.”

Qin Yu chose the highest available tier, the Platinum Card.
