“It’ll be over soon.” What does that mean?

I looked at her with confusion, but she just sat there calmly, eating bread and drinking milk. To be honest, ever since I became a vampire, I couldn’t taste anything else. Now suddenly eating bread and tasting milk—it felt so strange… Even though it was all fake… it seemed so real!

“You two need to change clothes. You can’t keep wearing those ragged outfits~” the Young Master’s mother said to us gently.

This woman really did give off that gentle feeling, just as the Young Master had said. But looking at her expression, why did I feel a sense of sadness…? Probably it was that teardrop mole beneath her left eye…

The maid in front led us to the place where Xiao Linlin had dressed me in a maid outfit before. She put us in the maid uniform the Young Master liked me to wear in the outside world.

“Both of you are adorable. Lady Fu brought you here to make the little Young Master happy. So just stay by her side every day and keep her cheerful. Got it?” The short-haired maid stood at the door, pointing at us.

Magic Box Ashiya nodded. “Understood. My sister and I will take good care of her. But wouldn’t the Young Master be happier staying with her own mother? Why…” She actually asked the question I most wanted to ask!

The short-haired maid smiling, but it was obviously a fake smile. “The Young Master’s mother has been in poor health ever since giving birth, and she has many things to attend to, so…” She seemed reluctant to continue, and Ashiya dropped the subject.

“Alright, little sister, let’s go. Let’s go play with the little Young Master!” With that, she grabbed my hand and ran out the door.

“Hey… Do you know what’s going to happen next?”

“Of course. I recorded this history. How could I not know?”

“Just follow me, and I’ll show you what you want to know.” She smiled with an expression that said she knew everything. Though she looked exactly like me—I was essentially looking at myself—it felt oddly strange.

“Huh? You really do know what I’m thinking…”

She pulled me along until we reached the Young Master and her mother.

“Mm… go play with the little Young Master. From now on, you’ll be her personal maids. Make sure to protect her~”

We both nodded. But the Young Master looked at us with such innocent, friendly eyes. We’d just been picked up, so why did her mother trust us so easily? I was a little puzzled…

“Alright, Vell, take them out for a stroll.”

For a month, nothing unusual happened here. Everything was normal. Every day I followed the Young Master’s mother’s orders, and every night I squeezed into the same bed with Ashiya. Because she looked exactly like me, it felt strangely natural. We played with the young master every day as if this were ordinary life. I asked Magic Box Ashiya what would happen next, but she didn’t answer. She just told me to go with the flow. But I knew that nightmares always hide within mundane peace…

“Alright, take them out to play!”

After breakfast with the Young Master and her mother, her mother said those same words as usual.

“Okay, but I want Mom to play with us too…”

“Mom has to go to the palace this afternoon to discuss very important matters with your father. So you’ll have to go with them. I’m sorry, Mom. When I get back, I’ll definitely play with you.”

“Fine…”

The Young Master’s mother pointed at her little girl and smiled. Beside me, Ashiya nodded, but I felt something was different today.

“Little Young Master, where should we go play?”

“To… Mom’s garden!” The young girl’s face beamed with a bright smile. But when I turned around to look at the Young Master’s mother, she was covering her sleeve as if crying. This couldn’t be simple. Ashiya must know—I had to ask her.

The Young Master walked ahead, Ashiya holding her hand. We followed the same path Xiao Linlin and I had taken during patrol. The bridge I’d seen with Xiao Linlin led to a large garden, but back then it had just been flat ground.

“Here it is, Mom’s garden. Let’s play… house! How about that?” The Young Master blinked her big eyes at us.

“Okay! So who’s the daddy and who’s the mommy?” Ashiya responded. The little Young Master pushed open the white picket gate, obviously with some difficulty.

“Come in first!” She led us to sit under a tree and pointed at us. “I’ll be the mommy, black-haired one will be the daddy, and white-haired one will be the child!”

“Huh?” I let out an “Eh~” involuntarily. Magic Box Ashiya shot me a look—she was definitely holding back a laugh…

“Well then, let’s start.”

And so we played house all afternoon. Though I didn’t understand why I was the daughter, the little Young Master was really happy.

When we looked up and saw dusk, the little Young Master jumped down from the tree. She’d been gifted since childhood… truly remarkable…

“Let’s go back! Mom must be waiting for us at home. Hurry, hurry!” With that, she ran off and pushed open the gate. She really was attached to her mother.

Beside me, Ashiya shouted, “Coming, coming!” and grabbed my hand, running after her.

“You’ll soon know what you most want to know.”

“Huh? You mean…?”

“Exactly.”

We ran all the way back to the mansion, but the entrance was crowded with people. Armored knights carrying swords and elegantly dressed noblewomen blocked the door. When they saw us, a knight drew his sword and shouted, “Found the traitor’s daughter.”

“What do you mean?” The young Young Master looked at the knight order in confusion, but I saw no panic in her… Why is that…?

A noblewoman answered, “That b*tch of a mother actually instigated a coup in the royal city. As expected, only a lowborn nation produces lowborn people. I don’t know why the King married her.”

She looked proud, then waved her hand. Suddenly, I couldn’t control myself. I rushed in front of the little Young Master, and then I saw a shiny blade pierce my chest. As the sword was pulled out, blood gushed forth. But I felt no pain—only that the buildings, the people, the distant scenery all shattered into fragments and began to disappear… So this was the “end” she mentioned…
