Join the ServerHer sword clashed against the claw wrapped in deep red magic. A sharp ‘ping’ rang out as sparks flew.
The two exchanged a move and each stepped back.
“Why are you protecting them?” the vampire girl who looked like an elementary school student asked her.
“Well… because we paladins exist to follow the royal family’s orders. So… go back with your questions, or die.”
With that, the knight lady straightened her sword and charged forward.
“Eh? A hound of the royalty? But you can’t kill me.”
They fought fiercely.
The knight lady swung her sword faster and faster, leaving gashes in the walls. But why was no one stopping them?
Me and He Yizi hid inside the room, poking our heads out to watch the duel.
“So this is the power of a high-ranking vampire…” He Yizi murmured, then turned to me. “You can’t even lift a light bottle, how weak can you be…”
“Huh? … Well… which one do you think has the upper hand?” I asked softly.
“Right now the paladin has the upper hand, but if she doesn’t have a way to finish her off in one blow, she’ll definitely lose.”
“Eh?”
Me and He Yizi were like spectators, but why wasn’t anyone backing her up? She came alone.
About ten minutes passed. They fought intensely, and the surrounding walls were completely unrecognizable from before.
Suddenly, in a flash, a crimson light burst forth, knocking the knight lady into the wall behind her. She hit the ground hard.
“I thought paladins were stronger. Next up is you, He Yizi.” With that, she dashed over. She looked like a little schoolgirl, but somehow she exuded an aura of importance.
The knight lady suddenly stood up with her sword, assuming a ready stance. The longsword in her hand glowed white.
That light made me feel repulsed. Suddenly, she raised the glowing sword high.
“You two, get inside the room. Hurry.”
“Huh?”
Next to me, He Yizi grabbed my hand and ran into the house. At the same time, a huge roar came from outside. The intense light forced my eyes shut.
When I opened my eyes again, the scene before me was terrifying. A building had been sliced in half.
The knight lady climbed back up from somewhere.
“Phew, that was tiring. Are you okay?”
As she spoke, her helmet and armor turned to ash and blew away in the wind, leaving only the dark blue dress underneath. The knight lady before me was a young and beautiful young lady with short blonde hair. She was very different from what I had imagined. She had a baby face, no less cute than He Yizi or this body of mine.
She sheathed her sword and walked over to pat my head. I didn’t mind, so I let her. Then she turned her gaze to He Yizi beside me.
“I… I… I’m at your mercy…”
The knight lady placed her hand on He Yizi’s head and patted her too. He Yizi trembled as she did. It was clearly a fearful tremble.
“Alright, I’ll wait here for your young master to return.”
“But this huge…”
“It’s fine. A big threat to this place is gone, so it’s worth it. But every time I use that move, I lose a set of armor.”
At this, He Yizi leaned in and whispered, “She… is really strong.”
