Join the ServerI hid under the umbrella and followed Ke Ying all the way to the school library entrance. This library really wasn’t as big as the Young Master’s place… It felt more like a café than a library. I couldn’t understand why such a big school only had such a small café.
Ke Ying seemed to suddenly remember something and turned around.
“He Yizi is inside. You go ahead first. The Young Master and I have class later, so we’ll leave now. Be sure to protect yourself… Um… Also…”
She looked at me with some hesitation, thought for a moment. Then she took the sword from her waist and handed it to me, scabbard and all.
“Take this with you. If you get lost, the Young Master and I can use it to find you. Besides, He Yizi is inside, so she’ll probably bring you back…”
Then she bent down and patted my head, as if she really thought I was a child…
I nodded, turned around, and was about to push the door open.
“Is she your friend here?” He Fengji, who had come with me, said from behind.
I pushed the door and turned to say, “Yes, I guess you could call her a friend.”
“So you do have friends! I thought you…”
Inside, it really did look more like a café, except there was a second floor. He Fengji ran to the counter and handed her book to the librarian. I looked around and decided to go in and look.
“Are you looking for someone?”
“Yeah, yes, huh? You…”
“I came to return a book and borrow another one.” She pushed up her glasses.
“Oh,” I replied.
I purposefully scanned the room for a silver-haired girl dressed as heavily and impenetrably as I was.
After checking the entire first floor without finding her, I was about to go upstairs when suddenly a voice sounded deep in my mind.
“Chuye, lend me your body for a bit.”
Then I collapsed on the stairs.
I was pulled into my own mental world. In front of me, Magic Box Ashiya was casting some kind of spell, her hands cupped together with a crimson light glowing between them.
“Do you know how scary it is to suddenly collapse on the stairs?!”
“Give me your body for a bit,” she said quickly and urgently.
“Why? I still need to find He Yizi!”
“Idiot! She went to class! You won’t find her. She’s safe! So hurry up!”
“Oh… How do I switch with you?”
“Relax your mental state…”
I closed my eyes in my mental world. In the space filled with “water,” I took a deep breath.
“Okay! I’m coming!”
My vision returned to my body, but I could no longer control it.
“Just watch,” an ethereal voice said. It must have been Ashiya.
“My” hair turned black, and my eyes turned a pure crimson. Ashiya-controlled me had become the form I took in the mental world. “I” was now leaning against a bookshelf, with He Fengji looking at me curiously.
“What happened to your hair and eyes?”
“Let your Magic Box idiot Xun talk to me.”
“Huh? Okay.”
The girl in front of me closed her eyes. Although it wasn’t nighttime, faint green light was clearly visible around her. If it weren’t class time and the library empty, the sight would surely have frightened someone.
After a moment, her eyes slowly opened. A pair of green eyes glared angrily at “me.”
“Who are you calling idiot Xun, you idiot Ashiya!”
Then she pounced at “me.”
