Suddenly, a pair of big red eyes were pressed right up against mine. I stumbled back a few steps and landed on the ground with a thud.

I fell from the shock. The door in front of me slowly pushed open.

“Don’t come any closer!”

A familiar figure appeared in the doorway.

“Why are you sitting on the ground?”

She reached out her hand and pulled me up. It was He Yizi, the same kind of vampire as me. She was wearing a school uniform and dragging a bag, looking at me with confusion.

“It’s just that you suddenly got too close and scared me…”

“Hmph, coward. You’ve gotten too used to being raised by humans, haven’t you? Oh, right, where’s that demi-human I agreed to meet?”

“Young Master Fuwelle is sleeping…” This girl must have only come out when it was night.

“A weirdo who willingly brings vampires into her home… Maybe she has some strange ideas. Like someone who would lock you in a secret room and torture you mercilessly?”

“No way… The Young Master is actually very kind…” Suddenly many scenes flashed through my mind. “I’m not sure if that counts as perverse… But I can guarantee the Young Master is a very gentle person. Why would you think that?”

“Eh? Let me tell you, the fate of a vampire caught alive at night is usually to be used as a punching bag, either to test the damage of a weapon, or to be kept as a pervert’s pet like you. I really don’t know why you came to a human’s house. How foolish!”

After hearing that, even though vampires don’t sweat, I felt a chill down my back.

“I was caught at night too…”

She looked a bit surprised. After a moment, she walked over, pressed me down, unbuttoned one of my chest buttons, exposed my neck, opened her mouth, and leaned in…

“Hey! What are you doing… It hurts!”

This time she just licked it and then lifted her head.

“You’ve never drunk human blood, have you?”

I buttoned up my shirt and turned to look at her, nodding.

“As I thought. When I ate you before, I mistook you for a human. No wonder I didn’t realize you were a vampire back then. Your scent and blood are full of plant flavor.”

“If you don’t drink human blood, you can’t grow. A vampire who hasn’t drunk human blood has no power at all. You’re weaker than a twelve-year-old child. No wonder you were caught alive.”

She pointed at me and lectured, then looked at me with relief. “But even though you’re a powerless vampire, that demi-human hasn’t done anything to you. That means either she has some weird hobby, or she has some kind of hang-up or plan. So I’ve decided to stay. Now, what will I be doing here?”

I looked at her. I didn’t expect her to be such a rational person.

“Well… probably the same as me. Being a maid.”

Her expression suddenly changed. She grabbed her bag and ran for the door, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t open it. Probably another permission lock set by the Young Master.

“Let me out! I don’t want to be a servant to lowly humans!”

I didn’t know why she was so unwilling to be a servant. But when I first arrived, I was the same, right? She stared straight at me like she’d spotted prey, then lunged at me and grabbed my shoulders.

“Let me go back right now.”

“Should we ask the Young Master?”

“No!”

As we argued, the door slowly pushed open.
