The repeated interruptions to her lecture caused the chalk in Wang Ying’s hand to snap in two from sheer fury. Her gaze, brimming with anger, immediately shot towards the doorway.
‘Who dared to interrupt her this time?’
‘That insufferable Wu Gang, a truly dense man, actually failed to grasp her good intentions. How utterly smug of him!’
‘Were it not for his considerable background, no one would ever tolerate such an obstinate chauvinist!’
As Wang Ying’s furious gaze landed on him, the male teacher at the doorway instinctively flinched. He simply thought to himself, ‘I’m just here to run an errand.’
‘And to think, I actually stumbled into this old hag’s class.’
‘What terrible luck.’
“The Dean of Students sent me,” the male teacher announced, “He said he has something important to discuss with Lin Qing.”
Meeting Wang Ying’s piercing stare, the male teacher hastily offered his explanation, terrified of becoming collateral damage.
‘Who could blame him for his misfortune, being caught by the Dean of Students at precisely the wrong moment?’
“What could the Dean possibly want with Lin Qing?” Wang Ying demanded, her voice still laced with irritation.
However, Wang Ying, still simmering with suppressed anger, cared little for the Dean of Students at this juncture.
She simply yearned to unleash her fury.
Consequently, she naturally wouldn’t let the male teacher off lightly, choosing instead to torment him with endless questions, much like an old hag.
“Well… I’m not entirely sure,” the male teacher stammered. “The Dean’s office door was closed, but it sounded quite chaotic inside. The message has been relayed; Lin Qing should head over as soon as possible!”
Confronted with Wang Ying’s deliberate obstruction, the male teacher offered a vague reply before falling silent.
Wang Ying, seemingly having entered a perpetual state of menopause, had at this moment morphed into an intractable demoness.
Anything he uttered would invariably become a landmine, poised to detonate the moment he stepped upon it.
Thus, fewer words meant fewer errors; no words meant no errors at all.
Nevertheless, upon hearing the male teacher’s words, the students in the classroom were overcome with confusion, utterly bewildered by what could have transpired.
‘The Dean of Students is looking for Lin Qing?’
‘Could it be related to Li Dong’s assault yesterday?’
‘No, that doesn’t seem right. So much time has passed; if they meant to investigate, they would have done so already. Why wait until now?’
Lin Qing himself was equally perplexed by the summons.
However, since he had been called, he knew he couldn’t simply refuse.
Pondering these thoughts, Lin Qing did not linger in his seat. Instead, he rose and began walking towards the classroom door.
He prepared to leave with the male teacher.
“Teacher, I’ll just…”
Yet, before Lin Qing could even reach the threshold of the classroom, a hand suddenly seized his wrist.
The grip was remarkably strong.
It was impossible to break free.
Yet, it also held a peculiar sense of familiarity.
This caused Lin Qing to freeze, and he made no move to shake off the hand.
He halted his steps, lowering his gaze to his left.
Beneath Lin Qing’s long black hair, his eyes narrowed with vigilance, wondering what new mischief she intended.
‘Could it be because he hadn’t acknowledged her text message earlier, prompting her to choose this moment for a prank?’
“Teacher,” Su Yao stated, “Even the Dean of Students shouldn’t disrupt a class in session. The third period is still underway; perhaps Lin Qing can go see the Dean after it concludes.”
Su Yao paid no mind to Lin Qing’s questioning gaze, instead directing her attention straight towards Wang Ying at the podium.
A perfectly composed smile remained etched upon her face, leaving no room for criticism, yet her eyes held an undeniable aura of authority.
Her clear, radiant eyes, typically sparkling, now seemed distant and unyielding.
It was as if she were silently declaring, ‘If you dare to abuse your authority and disrupt students’ lessons, I will personally expose the failings of this entire institution.’
While such a pronouncement from an ordinary student would typically be dismissed, it was impossible to disregard when uttered by the heiress of Comet Group.
“Indeed, you’re right,” Wang Ying conceded, her voice losing its edge. “Lin Qing, you can go after class.”
Despite her status as a teacher, Wang Ying felt a tremor of unease under Su Yao’s unwavering gaze.
She felt like a small animal caught in the gaze of a predator, capable only of cowering nervously to the side.
She dared not resist.
The male teacher at the classroom door, however, furrowed his brows. He couldn’t fathom what this suddenly assertive student intended.
‘Though she was undeniably beautiful, like a celestial fairy descended to earth.’
‘But she couldn’t just casually interrupt official business!’
‘He still needed to report back to the Dean of Students!’
“My dear student…” the male teacher began.
“Enough,” Wang Ying interrupted abruptly. “Su Yao is correct; not even the Dean of Students has the authority to interrupt an ongoing lesson.”
Before the male teacher could utter another word, Wang Ying had already cut him off.
The male teacher had been poised to speak again, but upon hearing the name “Su Yao,” his initial bewilderment lasted only moments before recognition dawned. He instantly recalled who she was.
The school’s most prominent second-generation rich student.
The future successor to a powerful chaebol family.
‘No wonder she possessed such unwavering confidence…’
“Understood.”
With that realization, the male teacher ceased lingering at the classroom door. Having delivered his brief message, he immediately turned and prepared to report back to the Dean of Students.
When confronted with Su Yao, a veritable golden child who seemed to shimmer with prestige, even the Dean of Students would not dare utter another dissenting word.
‘So, they would just have to wait.’
“Alright, let’s resume the lesson.”
Once the male teacher had departed, Wang Ying raised a hand to adjust the glasses perched on her nose. She then announced the continuation of the lesson, prompting the students to quickly refocus their attention.
It was at this precise moment that Su Yao finally released her grip on Lin Qing’s wrist, no longer holding him captive.
She then calmly opened her textbook, resuming her attentive listening as if nothing had transpired.
Su Yao maintained an air of complete nonchalance, as though the preceding events had never occurred.
Observing the distinct red mark encircling his wrist, Lin Qing found himself utterly speechless, unsure how to even begin to articulate his thoughts.
‘Was Su Yao truly a woman?’
‘Her strength was simply immense!’
The red mark currently adorning his wrist would undoubtedly transform into a purple bruise by evening.
‘What exactly was she trying to achieve?’
‘Was this her form of retaliation?’
With these thoughts swirling in his mind, Lin Qing no longer remained rooted to the spot. He returned to his seat, intending to seek out the Dean of Students once class was dismissed.
One issue remained unresolved, only for another to immediately surface.
‘Why did his school life feel so perpetually troublesome?’
As Lin Qing wrestled with these perplexing thoughts, Liu Hong, seated at the very back, raised a finger to his mouth, uncontrollably gnawing at his nails. His gaze remained unblinkingly fixed on Lin Qing’s back.
‘Though it seemed utterly impossible no matter how he considered it, why was Su Yao showing such concern for Lin Qing?’
‘Was it truly just the usual concern one classmate showed another?’
‘But Su Yao had never once shown *him* such care!’
‘Or, dare he consider, was that repulsive fat pig Wang Fanran actually telling the truth?’
‘No, no, no!’
‘To believe Wang Fanran’s words would be tantamount to admitting that his goddess, Su Yao, was utterly blind, to actually have eyes for someone like Lin Qing.’
‘He shouldn’t be overly sensitive; instead, he needed to view the situation calmly and rationally.’
‘At any rate, now that he had returned to school and wouldn’t be sent home for further reflection, he had ample time to observe.’

“This incident demands an explanation!” a woman’s voice boomed. “My child was brutalized at school and has already been sent to the hospital for examination. Once the results are released, I assure you, I will sue every single person involved!”
“Mrs. Wang Fanran, please, try to calm down,” a placating voice began. “We don’t yet know the full circumstances of this matter; we can’t simply…”
“Can’t?” the woman shrieked, her voice rising. “My child is currently lying in the hospital, yet the perpetrator is comfortably attending classes here! What kind of despicable school is this? No, I demand an explanation today, or I will sue the entire school along with everyone else!”
“…”
Inside the Dean of Students’ office, Li Mingjun observed the middle-aged woman seated on the opposite sofa. Her eyes, slanted upwards, darted with an aggressive glint, and her words were nothing short of an unreasonable tirade.
As she spoke, the jowls on her face quivered uncontrollably.
It was evident at a glance that she was not a woman to be trifled with.
‘Why hadn’t the teacher he sent to fetch Lin Qing returned yet?’
