Chapter 81: A Sudden Drenching

Shen Congqing’s face changed instantly.

She swiftly pushed off from the wall, soaring through the air like a bird tracing a graceful arc. With a fluid motion, she landed lightly on the ground, her actions smooth and effortless.

Ye Qing seemed stunned by her own performance. A faint, smug smile played on Shen Congqing’s lips, but it quickly faded as she noticed Ye Qing’s glazed amber eyes focused on something behind her….

Before Shen Congqing could react, she was drenched from head to toe with icy water.

The broken pipe hung on the wall, spraying water relentlessly, drenching Shen Congqing completely and making her shiver. She wrapped her arms around her slim frame.

Ye Qing pursed her lips and silently stepped back, getting splashed as well. Shen Congqing sniffled and moved to the corner, shaking off the water like a puppy.

Her golden lashes were wet and quivering, water droplets still trickling down her white tights to her ankles.

This sight made it clear they couldn’t go to class. Ye Qing sighed and pulled tissue from her black bag, gently wiping the wet gold-haired girl’s face and head.

Shen Congqing kept her head slightly bowed, her green eyes fluttering away, her cheeks flush with what could be embarrassment or other thoughts. She remained silent, only tightening her grip on her soaked skirt to wring out the water.

Though a magical girl, Shen Congqing lacked convenient spells like drying. Her magic was limited to enhancing her body and wielding a large sword. Seeing Shen Congqing’s bewildered expression, Ye Qing frowned and had an idea.

She circled Shen Congqing, inspecting her carefully. The wet sailor uniform clung to Shen Congqing’s petite body, becoming semi-transparent and revealing her soft skin.

Feeling Ye Qing’s gaze on her, Shen Congqing instinctively crossed her legs and pressed her hands firmly on her skirt.

When Ye Qing returned, her small cat-like face inched close to Shen Congqing’s forehead. Shen Congqing held her breath, feeling her wet body grow warm.

But Ye Qing only compared their heights and rushed to a hidden corner. After a rustle of clothing, Ye Qing emerged with a set of dry clothes. “Shen teacher, why don’t you use these for now?”

Shen Congqing stared blankly at the clothes, feeling the lingering warmth of the fabric and Ye Qing’s unique scent. Ye Qing wore a similar set of clothes created by her abilities, which couldn’t leave her side or they would vanish.

Thus, Ye Qing had no choice but to lend her clothes, though she seemed unfazed by sharing intimate garments with Shen Congqing.

“Thank you, but please don’t call me teacher here…”

Ye Qing blinked, unsure of how to respond. Not call her teacher? Should she call her master instead?

“Just treat me as your peer, call me by my name.”

“That’s not possible,” Ye Qing replied stubbornly, though her stomach fluttered with anticipation at Shen Congqing’s request. “Calling you teacher is just out of respect, but…”

Ye Qing knew Shen Congqing had feelings for her, and she returned them. This expectation made Ye Qing feel a bit uneasy.

Shen Congqing quickly covered Ye Qing’s mouth to prevent her from saying more embarrassing things. “Just think of it as my request. At least for now, call me by my name, like this: “Shen-From-Qing.”

“Shen… From Qing…”

As Shen Congqing removed her hand, Ye Qing repeated the name softly. Shen Congqing turned her face away, hiding her inner turmoil.

“Don’t look, I need to change.”

Shen Congqing took Ye Qing’s clothes and walked to the corner, muttering, “I’ll be right back.” Ye Qing turned away, her mind still on the name she had blurted out.

Though it was common to call teachers by their first names in college, doing so with a gold-haired teacher—now a gold-haired tomboy—felt strangely intimate and exciting.

To prevent Ye Qing’s clothes from getting dirty, Shen Congqing carefully held them with one hand while using the other to undress.

From her angle, she could see Ye Qing’s small back. Each glance reminded her of the warmth of the clothes that had been on Ye Qing just moments before.

The wet fabric was heavy, making a noticeable sound as it fell to the ground. Shen Congqing placed the clothes down gently, her movements no longer as agile as before. It took her a while to finally remove the damp layer.

Her smooth, white skin glowed under the soft daylight, but her slender collarbone revealed little of her former figure. Though she was now youthful, Shen Congqing felt a strange unfamiliarity with this new self.

A chill made her shudder, prompting her to quickly pull on the clothes. As the thick sweater enveloped her head, the fleece brushed against her cheeks, carrying Ye Qing’s scent.

Shen Congqing inhaled deeply, losing herself in the sweet, warm aroma, her face flushing red.

At this point, being late was the least of their worries. They had already caused a much bigger commotion, so a little more delay wouldn’t hurt.

This thought made Shen Congqing feel strangely relaxed, almost as if she had returned to her carefree youth.

Just as she was lost in this moment of peace, Ye Qing’s voice pulled her back to reality. “From Qing, hurry up, Duanmu sister is waiting.”

What? She’s already using my first name? Isn’t that a bit too intimate?

But thinking of Duanmu Jin, Shen Congqing felt a pang in her chest and hurriedly finished dressing, appearing before Ye Qing. Instead of the “Shen From Qing” Ye Qing expected, she saw a casually dressed gold-haired tomboy.

Her half-dry gold hair hung messily behind her, her collar unbuttoned, and her shirt inside out—a look that would drive Ye Qing crazy. Ye Qing struggled to reconcile this image with the mature, dominant Shen Congqing she knew.

After a moment, Ye Qing reached out, helping Shen Congqing tidy up. Her fingertips grazed Shen Congqing’s cheek, slipping into her damp gold hair, making Shen Congqing’s clear green eyes glaze over.

“You really need to learn to take care of yourself,” Ye Qing murmured, her voice trailing off as she lost herself in the moment.
