Chapter 91: The Unanticipated Revelation

After taking a deep breath, Ye Qing stepped into the semi-transparent box, gently closing the small door behind her. The interior space was more cramped than she had imagined.

In front of her was a pedestal with a handprint-shaped symbol. Besides that, there was nothing else noteworthy, leading her to question the precision of the device.

Although Qin Yuqian had tampered with it, Ye Qing had no idea what exactly she had done. Therefore, she needed to conceal her dark magical energy as much as possible.

Ye Qing closed her eyes and, following Duanmu Jin’s instructions, tried to recall important people in her life.

‘Qingmei, my sister, my friends…’

Next, she pressed her hand down, hoping to extract some pure magical energy from within herself.

Meanwhile, Duanmu Jin watched the device from a distance. She was curious about what this black-haired girl, who had caused so much commotion among the magical girls, could achieve. As for why she hadn’t explained the device’s function, it was due to a hint of caution she held.

What if Ye Qing wasn’t an ordinary person with dark magical energy but a hidden evil executive?

Duanmu Jin could accept Ye Qing’s excess dark magical energy, but if she possessed abilities threatening to others, Duanmu Jin would have to take more cautious measures.

In matters where there was no room for error, she couldn’t rely solely on the assurances of the magical girls. After all, magical girls had often been deceived by cunning evil organizations, and their infiltration was always a threat.

Some magical girls had even secretly defected. Duanmu Jin could only ensure, to the best of her ability, that infiltration didn’t occur.

Was that girl who looked like Ye Qing Qin Yuqian? With a pure magical energy index of one hundred… perhaps she also had the potential to become a magical girl. Duanmu Jin decided to keep an eye on her.

Duanmu Jin waited for the data from Ye Qing, watching the screen as a negative number appeared. She wasn’t surprised and calmly waited.

The number gradually approached negative one hundred, but Duanmu Jin had disabled the alarm as long as it didn’t drop below negative three hundred, the situation remained controllable.

However, when the data got stuck at negative ninety-nine, something strange happened.

The number began to flicker between negative one hundred and negative ninety-nine, never stabilizing at either value, just continuously changing.

Duanmu Jin furrowed her brow in confusion.

If the value remained below negative one hundred, it would indicate that Ye Qing’s danger level was extremely low, and she couldn’t resonate with dark magical energy, although this might be the result of her deliberate suppression…

Suddenly, Duanmu Jin’s pupils contracted, and she widened her golden eyes, instinctively leaning against the wall to straighten her body.

She watched as the bright red numbers rapidly decreased, turning to zero in just a few seconds, then began to increase in the opposite direction without any signs of slowing down.

It quickly surpassed the average level and approached one hundred.

Duanmu Jin rushed over to the device, her gaze fixed on the small figure behind the glass. The next moment, she witnessed an unbelievable scene.

With her sense of pure magical energy, she could vaguely see a faint silver-white glow surrounding Ye Qing. Although it was far from the level of a magical girl, it was still awe-inspiring

. The number’s growth gradually slowed down, finally settling at one hundred and one, an unexpected figure.

It barely exceeded the range of an ordinary person, making it seem inadequate for becoming a magical girl, like scoring sixty-one out of fifty-nine on a test—an embarrassingly awkward range.

A mix of joy and confusion crossed Duanmu Jin’s beautiful face as she pondered how to handle this situation.

A pure magical energy index of one hundred and one was insufficient to fulfill miraculous wishes, let alone Ye Qing’s billion-dollar goal. Even if she became a magical girl, she would still need to continue her struggle.

Before her, even the weakest original, Chi, had a pure magical energy index of over one thousand three hundred. The gap was enormous. Theoretically, exceeding the ordinary person’s limit should result in a rapid expansion of the pure magical energy index, so why was it only one hundred and one…

Regardless, this result was satisfactory. Whether as Gu Xuanyu’s supervisor or a magical girl assisting her from the shadows, it was a good choice.

The small door opened, and Duanmu Jin’s vision refocused. She was about to speak when she noticed the black-haired girl’s unsteady steps and vacant eyes. Ye Qing nearly stumbled as she exited, only managing to regain her composure with Duanmu Jin’s support.

Ye Qing breathed heavily, her heart pounding. Her mind was still filled with the uncontrollable images from earlier. As she tried to focus, the delicate balance she had maintained suddenly tilted.

She found herself unable to suppress the memories of Gu Xuanyu’s graceful figure, flawless smile, and worn body.

The ethereal image of the silver-haired girl suddenly became vivid. She licked her vibrant red lips, her cold eyes shimmering with tenderness as she walked gracefully through the darkness.

Her alluring figure was captivating, and Ye Qing couldn’t look away.

The background figures faded into obscurity, leaving only her pure white hair and wine-red eyes, expanding and dominating Ye Qing’s mind.

For some reason, despite being in her own consciousness, Ye Qing couldn’t escape. She watched helplessly as the silver-haired girl approached, embraced her slender arms, and gently but firmly restricted her movements.

Ye Qing curled up in fear, but the silver-haired girl didn’t forcefully kiss her. Instead, she gently lifted Ye Qing, cradling her like a child, using her arms to weave a cocoon of love.

A warm sensation spread from her abdomen, bringing a lazy comfort. By the time Ye Qing wanted to break free, she found herself unable to resist, slowly surrendering to the silver-haired girl’s affection, losing herself…

The feeling wasn’t unpleasant, even delightful, but Ye Qing couldn’t adapt. She felt almost suffocated by the weight of that love.

She could sense that this wasn’t the Gu Xuanyu she knew. Although playful, the silver-haired girl never forced her, and she was always skilled at resistance.

It wasn’t until Duanmu Jin supported her and took a few steps that Ye Qing’s racing heart began to slow. However, her body was still filled with an intense heat that seemed to scorch her.

This wasn’t an illusion, as she could feel her close-fitting clothes had been burnt through, and even in the cold wind, the heat didn’t diminish.

‘I’m fine, I just need a moment to rest… I’ll go to the bathroom again.’

Ye Qing exhaled, her breath turning into a white mist in the cold air, lingering for a long time before dissipating.
