Bu You asked, still unwilling to give up, as they walked through the dim corridors of the Psychedelic Paradise.
“Perhaps next time,” Su Mu replied. “Next time, for sure.”
Su Mu chuckled, preparing to depart.
He had lingered here long enough. Moreover, after acquiring such a wealth of information, his mind brimmed with new ideas he was eager to implement.
Considering Bu You’s lingering invitation, Su Mu paused. Before leaving, he retrieved the credit check Sasaki had left for him.
He pulled out a marker pen, reserved exclusively for the royal family, and inscribed a number onto the check. With a flourish, he tore it off and handed it to Bu You.
Bu You froze for a moment, gazing at the check, on which ‘100,000’ was written. “Your Highness,” they said in surprise, “one hundred thousand Moen is nowhere near my price, you know.”
“You’re overthinking it,” Su Mu said with a smile. “This is merely a tip for you, a thank you for your companionship and service along the way.”
He tucked the remaining credit checks and the special marker pen into his pocket.
He savored the sensation of tearing the check just now; honestly, it felt exhilarating. Such a grand, extravagant gesture was something he had only encountered in the overbearing CEO novels of his previous life. He never imagined he would one day perform such a ‘show-off’ act himself.
Seeing Bu You still dazed and not yet reaching for the check, Su Mu prompted, “What’s wrong? Don’t want it? Forget it then…”
Snapping back to reality, Bu You quickly snatched the check from Su Mu’s hand, just as he was about to retract it. They grinned playfully. “Want it? Why wouldn’t I? It’s free money, no reason to refuse.”
Hearing Bu You mention the word ‘free,’ Su Mu couldn’t help but chuckle. “Do you know? What’s free is often the most expensive.”
“I don’t believe in such twisted logic, hmph. Since it’s in my hands now, Your Highness shouldn’t dream of taking it back.”
Chatting and laughing, the two arrived at the exit of the Psychedelic Paradise. After bidding each other farewell, they parted ways.
Watching Su Mu’s shadowy figure gradually merge into the sunlight, Bu You held the check to their nose and inhaled deeply. They murmured to themselves, “The little fellow has become quite interesting after losing their memory…”

“Your Highness.”
Bai Ji greeted Su Mu the very moment he appeared.
A radiant smile graced His Highness’s face, suggesting he had thoroughly enjoyed himself.
“Ah Bai, you’ve worked hard waiting for me out here,” Su Mu said, observing the fine beads of sweat that had gathered at Bai Ji’s temples.
It seemed Bai Ji had remained steadfastly at the entrance, not moving an inch, throughout the entire time he was inside. With the blazing sun and her prolonged wait, it was no wonder she was so overheated.
“It’s no hardship.”
“Very well, let’s head back.”
Su Mu said no more, striding purposefully ahead. He had barely taken two steps when his robes were suddenly tugged by Bai Ji.
“Your Highness, the path to the sleeping quarters is this way.”
Su Mu let out an awkward, dry laugh. His sense of direction was truly a weakness.
They were back on the familiar street leading home. Along the way, Su Mu intermittently cast a thoughtful glance at Bai Ji, who walked behind him.
“Your Highness, is something amiss?” Bai Ji asked, a hint of confusion in her voice.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that His Highness’s gaze had been rather peculiar ever since they emerged from the Psychedelic Paradise.
“Ah Bai, what do I represent to you?” Su Mu suddenly posed a completely nonsensical question.
Bai Ji answered without a moment’s hesitation. “You are my everything. You are the very meaning of my existence.”
Su Mu nodded with satisfaction. He turned away, saying nothing more, and did not look back at Bai Ji.
Though Bai Ji found Su Mu’s sudden question perplexing, her reserved nature led her to swallow her doubts. The two walked quietly along the path back.
They journeyed from a bustling crowd to a secluded, sparsely populated area, a transition spanning mere kilometers. The cacophony of human voices gradually faded, replaced by the faint, intermittent chirping of insects and birds.
They soon arrived at the familiar intersection. The clothing store by the roadside once again captured Su Mu’s attention. However, last time he had admired it; this time…
Su Mu stopped, glaring with distaste at the elegant little dress in the clothing store’s display window, a garment as graceful as a black swan. He spoke without turning his head. “Ah Bai, go to that shop and buy the dress in the window.”
“Yes.”
Bai Ji immediately moved, heading towards the clothing store. Su Mu’s gaze followed her, vaguely noticing the store owner’s hesitant expression, which swiftly transformed into a joyous smile upon seeing him outside. Moments later, Bai Ji returned, holding the neatly packaged black dress.
“Your Highness.”
“Mm.”
Su Mu took the little black dress from Bai Ji. As he walked, he roughly tore open the packaging, pulling the dress free. Feeling the soft, comfortable texture of the fabric in his hands, Su Mu found his initial urge to violently tear and destroy this unpleasant dress, thus venting his inner fury, wavering slightly.
Su Mu frowned, pondering for a long time. Ultimately, he refrained from such a destructive and wasteful act. He tossed the dress to Bai Ji behind him. “Ah Bai, I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you to make another trip. Go back to that store and have this dress repackaged. Tell them I’m dissatisfied with the packaging and that the shop should make it look prettier.”
Bai Ji took the dress. Although she didn’t understand the meaning behind Su Mu’s earlier actions, after ensuring the area was safe, she unhesitatingly carried out his command, quickly striding towards the clothing store, which was now quite a distance away.
Watching Bai Ji’s retreating back, Su Mu couldn’t help but find his own childish behavior laughable. What was a little extra running around to a Sword Saint like Bai Ji?
Su Mu bit his lower lip bitterly. The small forest they were in at that moment imbued him with a familiar sense of powerlessness and anger. Bai Ji’s morbid image of dragging him into death still flickered in his mind, refusing to dissipate. Su Mu looked up at the sky, the idea that had been brewing in his heart for so long growing ever firmer…

Soon, Bai Ji returned with the newly packaged little dress. This time, Su Mu felt there was no change in the packaging compared to the last. And rightly so; after all, both the previous and current packaging were already so meticulous that no fault could be found. It was simply an excuse he had conjured for his own grievances.
“That’s enough. Let’s go.”
Su Mu’s emotions had settled. Sasaki had heeded his words and withdrawn all his death knights. Consequently, there were no further unexpected incidents along the way, and they returned to the sleeping quarters safely.
The moment they saw the sleeping quarters, the system’s notification sound finally chimed in his mind:
