“Hey, you really don’t remember me?”

After Bai Ji departed, Laura stared at Su Mu for a long while before suddenly posing the question.

Su Mu, still bewildered, shook his head faintly.

“Um… who are you, please? And where is this place?”

He scrutinized the young woman before him.

Her long pink hair was braided together. Beneath her lengthy lashes, her reddish eyes sparkled brightly, while her delicate nose twitched occasionally. Her cherry-red lips habitually pouted, giving her a mischievous yet utterly adorable charm that made any naughtiness forgivable.

The young woman wore a white magus’s robe, embroidered with the cross symbol of a healing術士. It perfectly matched Su Mu’s imagination of a magic healer.

“I’m a doctor, and this is a hospital. You were injured, and I cured you. Unfortunately, your brain couldn’t be saved.”

Laura replied offhandedly. She gazed at Susumu in his docile, kind state, feeling a strange sense of unease. Only a few days ago, this very person had been tormenting her.

‘Had he truly lost his memory? Or was he trying to trick her again?’

Su Mu felt a surge of speechlessness. Why was this woman spouting such nonsense? And what did ‘brain couldn’t be saved’ even mean? He’d only lost his memory, not become an idiot!

However, out of politeness, he forced a smile.

“Thank you for saving me.”

Laura froze, an expression of utter disbelief washing over her face. ‘Good heavens, was she dreaming? Could she actually hear this ice block express gratitude in her lifetime?’

‘Was this truly the same arrogant, overbearing scoundrel prince she knew?’

It was only then that she began to truly believe Susumu had indeed lost his memory. She never imagined amnesia could have such a profound impact on a person.

As she observed the docile and handsome prince, Laura found herself somewhat lost in thought. It was no wonder he had once been the talk of the noble ladies in the capital.

Had it not been for the prince’s later terrifying personality and rumors, he would likely still be the most sought-after husband among the noblewomen.

Laura recalled the scene from a few days prior, when Prince Susumu had once again visited the infirmary to tease her. Replacing that haughty, cold prince with the current dazed, somewhat adorable one, she found herself feeling a slight flutter in her heart.

Feeling the peculiar gaze from the small pink-haired woman, Su Mu felt goosebumps rise on his skin. He resisted slightly.

“Don’t look at me like that. I don’t remember anything. Do you… know me?”

Laura offered a strange smile. “Actually, I’m your fiancée, my dear Prince…”

Su Mu: ???

Laura then gave Su Mu a rundown of his basic situation, even recounting some of Susumu’s past deeds.

Su Mu remained half-skeptical of Laura’s words. This woman didn’t seem entirely honest; who knew if she was injecting her own biases into the memories she was implanting?

At the very least, he absolutely refused to believe she was his fiancée.

“Mumu, my Mumu!”

Suddenly, a warm, urgent voice echoed into the room. Following the voice was an elegant, white-haired woman, with a mysterious hooded figure trailing behind her, seemingly her attendant.

The woman instantly spotted Su Mu sitting by the bedside. She rushed forward, cupping Su Mu’s face in her hands, showering him with concerned questions.

“My poor Mumu, are your injuries healed? Is there anything uncomfortable, any pain anywhere?”

The woman’s fervor left Su Mu somewhat flustered. He blinked, casting a pleading look at the awkward Laura beside him.

“Ahem, Your Highness, this is your mother, Lady Furei.”

Laura explained.

Furei glanced at Laura, then asked, “What happened?” She had only heard that Susumu had been assassinated and injured, and had rushed over immediately, still unaware of the specifics.

Laura shifted uncomfortably, respectfully replying, “It appears His Highness has lost his memory, Your Majesty.”

Furei frowned, her hands, still cupping Su Mu’s cheeks, began to rub them.

Su Mu let out muffled sounds. Laura watched Su Mu’s predicament, suppressing her laughter, not daring to make a sound.

After all, Lady Furei was present. She couldn’t help but mourn for Bai Ji again for a few seconds in her heart.

Even if Bai Ji held the esteemed title of Sword Saint, she likely wouldn’t fare well against Lady Furei. After all, everyone in the capital knew that Queen Miston’s most cherished son was her second, Susumu.

Furthermore, the Queen’s protectiveness was legendary. Once, the Third Prince of the neighboring Eastre Kingdom visited the Miston Kingdom with his ministers to establish diplomatic relations.

During their stay, due to some misunderstanding, the Third Prince publicly humiliated Prince Susumu. Upon learning of this, the Queen immediately brought a Grand Magus and a Sword Saint to the Miston residence.

She found the Eastre Third Prince, who had shown such disrespect, and executed him in front of all the foreign envoys, avenging her son. This incident sent shockwaves throughout the entire nation at the time.

It was well known that the Eastre Kingdom was not a small nation, and it bordered theirs, making their diplomatic relations incredibly important. Yet, even under such circumstances, Queen Miston had unhesitatingly killed the Eastre Kingdom’s prince.

The Queen’s actions nearly sparked a war. However, due to the overwhelming strength of the Miston Kingdom at the time, coupled with the recent demise of the Eastre Kingdom’s king, the incident eventually fizzled out.

Nonetheless, the story spread throughout the entire Darke Continent through the whispers of traveling merchants, ensuring everyone knew that the Miston Kingdom had a ‘mad’ queen. Consequently, almost no one in the capital dared to provoke the Second Prince, Susumu, which was why he could act so domineeringly throughout the city.

With Susumu having suffered such a great injustice this time, Bai Ji was likely in for a world of trouble. Furei paid no mind to Laura’s private thoughts; her gaze, as gentle as water, rested on Susumu for a long time without speaking.

“Mm-mm—Mo, Mother?”

Su Mu struggled, his cheeks squeezed, barely managing to articulate a clear word. As Furei watched him, he, too, observed her.

At such close proximity, Su Mu found it difficult to discern any traces of age etched upon the woman’s face. It was hard to believe that such a youthful-looking woman could be the mother of several grown children.

“Mumu, do you truly remember nothing?”

Su Mu shook his head blankly.

Furei released him, turning to the person hidden beneath a hood beside her. “Pera.”

At the mere mention of her name, the hooded figure stirred. She approached Su Mu, then abruptly pulled back her black robe, revealing a taut figure clad only in black lingerie, and a large, furry tail wagging constantly behind her.

“Eh?!”

Su Mu was stunned, his eyes instinctively drawn to the hooded figure’s peculiar yet alluring form. Then, the hooded figure embraced Su Mu, forehead to forehead, pressing tightly against him.

The black hooded coat, once pulled back, seemed to come alive, swiftly closing around them, enveloping both its owner and Su Mu. Laura’s face flushed crimson. She had inadvertently caught another glimpse of the adult’s magnificent figure and couldn’t help but compare herself, growing even more shy.

Though it wasn’t her first time witnessing Lady Pera’s grandeur, it was undeniably breathtaking every single time.
