Join the ServerThe world around him suddenly darkened.
Su Mu felt a stifling pressure against his chest.
He vaguely recalled seeing a large, fluffy tail moments before. Beyond that, his mind could only conjure the adjectives ‘huge’ and ‘white’.
Su Mu’s head buzzed. Held within such a soft embrace, an uncontrollable restlessness stirred deep within him.
“Abnormal mental fluctuations detected. Title effect triggered—”
Suddenly, the system’s voice echoed in Su Mu’s mind.
A wave of clarity washed over his numb brain, instantly clearing away all jumbled thoughts. His body then shivered uncontrollably, plunging him into a profound, almost ‘sage-like’ state of calm.
With their foreheads pressed together, each other’s breathing was distinctly audible.
Su Mu distinctly felt the woman holding him stiffen considerably after his tremor, her breathing growing heavy, exuding a fervent warmth.
In his current state of serenity, he felt somewhat detached from the situation. Recalling the earlier sight, he began to form a few conjectures about the woman embracing him.
He remembered reading about the existence of beast-eared girls in this world, having seen it on the desk in the royal bedchamber. He hadn’t expected to encounter one so soon.
It appeared this particular beast-eared girl was even a retinue member of his mother, Queen Furei. He wondered what species she might be.
The woman’s sudden embrace seemed to be at the Queen’s instruction.
Based on the current circumstances, Su Mu attempted to analyze the meaning behind her action.
The woman’s breathing grew heavier and heavier, and the distance between them steadily diminished.
Her moist, labored breaths mingled with Su Mu’s own, making his breathing feel somewhat constrained.
The atmosphere beneath the hood grew increasingly strange.

Inside the medical room, after Susumu was completely enveloped by the hooded cloak, only Furei and Laura remained.
Laura appeared quite flustered in the presence of the Queen.
Furei smiled, sitting by the bed with her left leg crossed over her right, and asked in a conversational tone,
“Little Laura, how has your teacher been lately?”
“Teacher should be doing well, I suppose. It’s actually been a long time since I last saw her. The last time I saw her was the time before that,” Laura answered earnestly.
Furei chuckled, “Little Laura, you still love to state the obvious, don’t you?”
Laura belatedly realized her blunder and quickly covered her mouth, stammering, “I’m, I’m sorry… Your Majesty, I didn’t mean to.”
“Oh, it’s fine. I’m quite used to it,” Furei said with a dismissive wave, not taking it to heart.
She had watched Laura grow up, a child born into poverty who had managed to climb to her current position. It truly wasn’t easy.
Looking at Laura, something came to Furei’s mind, and she asked again, “I heard that little Mu Mu came looking for you at the infirmary a few days ago?”
Laura flinched, nodding with a hint of guilt.
Furei sighed softly, speaking gently, “Little Mu Mu is good in every way, but sometimes he takes emotions too seriously. That’s not good.”
Laura dared not utter a sound.
Furei said nothing more, withdrawing her gaze from Laura and letting her smile fade. She looked at the motionless hooded cloak beside them, frowning. Tapping the woman’s head beneath the hood with a bent finger, she called out in a chilling voice,
“Pera.”
The hooded cloak loosened, releasing Su Mu, and the woman stood up, silently returning to Furei’s side.
Su Mu stared blankly at the hooded woman.
Had he just… been forcibly kissed?
This was his first kiss. Neither in his past life nor this one had he ever been so intimately close to someone, let alone kissed them.
The shifting light and shadow created a sense of unreality for Su Mu.
Yet, the lingering softness on his lips assured him it was no illusion.
Furei looked at the bewildered Su Mu, then turned and shot a fierce glare at the hooded woman. She stroked Su Mu’s head, her voice gentle as she said,
“Little Mu Mu, I know you might still be confused and perplexed right now, but don’t rush. The road ahead is long, and you have ample time to find your future. Mama is leaving now; I’ll come see you again next time~”
Su Mu looked into Furei’s placid eyes and nodded obediently.
“Such a good boy.”
Furei gave Su Mu an affectionate farewell hug, then looked at the pink-haired girl beside her, whose envy was poorly concealed, and said,
“Little Laura, I’ll leave little Mu Mu in your care.”
After her instructions, she departed with the hooded woman.
As she left, the hooded woman glanced back, pulling her hood down to reveal two large, fluffy, adorable pink ears. She winked playfully at Su Mu.
Then, she swiftly pulled her hood back into place.
Only Su Mu noticed the entire exchange.
Su Mu’s heart pounded wildly. He touched his lips, and after savoring the sensation, he inwardly cheered:
‘Long live fox girls! ≧▽≦!’
Laura, meanwhile, was still immersed in her envy, unable to extricate herself.

“How was it?”
Walking along a small path in the royal palace, Furei asked concisely.
At this moment, Pera had removed her hood. She licked her lips, savoring the memory, and said,
“His Highness was so quick this time~”
Furei’s face darkened, and she cast an unfriendly gaze at Pera.
“Just a joke, little Furei, don’t be angry.”
Pera quickly began to seriously report what she had discovered using her innate ability, [Charm]:
“The conclusion is that His Highness has indeed lost his memory. I detected no memories within his spiritual body.”
“Are you certain?”
Furei frowned, somewhat displeased with the result. The Mandrake Serpent venom shouldn’t have been that potent. Where exactly did things go wrong?
She was utterly perplexed.
“You are the closest to His Highness. Do you think he possesses the ability to resist my charm?” Pera countered.
Furei was silent for a moment, then let out a cold snort, saying,
“You secretly took advantage of little Mu Mu. I’m very angry. Your punishment is to eat dinner on the floor tonight.”
Pera’s face flushed, and she remained silent.
Her large, fluffy ears drooped, but the constantly wagging tail behind her betrayed her excited emotions.

Royal Palace, King’s Study.
A slightly stout, black-haired man sat at his desk, reviewing documents from across the capital. He was Louis Miston, the current King of the Miston Kingdom.
Time had etched deep lines onto his face. Crow’s feet occasionally twitched, like carp swimming against a waterfall, no matter how hard they struggled, they could never escape the deep creases around his eyes.
“Knock, knock—”
A knock sounded at the door.
Bai Ji entered, bowing and kneeling.
Louis glanced at the newcomer, then set down his quill, asking, “It’s you. Is something the matter?”
“Your Majesty, Bai Ji failed in her duty to protect. The maid, Jessica, attempted to assassinate His Highness Susumu, and I was unable to stop her in time.”
“Is the boy… alright?” Louis showed a hint of concern.
“His Highness’s physical condition is no longer critical, but his mind has suffered damage. He is currently suspected of amnesia.”
Bai Ji kept her head bowed, her expression hidden.
“Amnesia?”
Louis tapped his desk lightly, his eyes fixed on the kneeling Bai Ji, lost in thought.
After a long silence, the sound of a voice finally broke the stillness in the study once more:
“I understand. Is there anything else?”
“Your Majesty, the matter you promised me…”
“Susumu’s coming-of-age ceremony is next month. You will get the result you desire.”
