Join the ServerBy now, Mu An had obtained the crucial poison, and the mission progress bar had reached fifty percent.
Next, he needed to plan how, after poisoning his master, he would take Shen Shengqing out of Qingyun Sect and imprison him.
Qingyun Sect was filled with experts, and now with the addition of people from the Ten Thousand Artifacts Pavilion and the Xuanji Sect, it would be even more difficult to spirit his master away unnoticed.
Mu An sighed. He asked the system for help, but the system had no solution either. It only said that the original plot only had an outline, no detailed plan, so it didn’t know how to get the person out either.
It reminded him of a boss who only gives orders at work, caring only about the result no matter how outrageous the task.
The next morning.
Although Mu An was still injured, he prepared to go attend to his master.
After all, a yandere disciple had to act like this—still being a simp despite his injuries. Otherwise, how could he demonstrate his deep devotion?
But just as he was about to put his foot in his shoe, he heard a knock on the door.
Before he could open the door, his master pushed it open and walked in.
The man had a cold, proud expression, ink-black hair cascading like a waterfall, and wore an outrageously expensive snow-white robe. As he walked in slowly, an air of leadership rushed toward Mu An.
But in his hand, he was holding an incongruous basin of water.
“Master! Master!” Mu An quickly put on his shoes and, ignoring his outer robe, immediately moved to walk toward him.
But a single sentence from Shen Shengqing froze him in place. “Sit down.”
Mu An, startled and uncertain, slowly sat back on the bed.
Then he watched in disbelief as his master, who was normally untouched by worldly affairs, actually wrung out a towel for him.
When Shen Shengqing approached with the warm towel, Mu An immediately snapped out of it and snatched the towel. “Master, this disciple can do these things himself. How could I trouble you with them?”
Shen Shengqing’s eyes were calm and placid, but Mu An inexplicably felt a wave of panic under his gaze.
Shen Shengqing didn’t insist, but he stood in front of Mu An, silently watching him wipe his face.
[If An’an truly liked me, he would blush and let me wipe his face for him, not act like this.]
[Yesterday too. Even though his clothes were already off, An’an just wouldn’t let me help him apply the medicine. He wouldn’t even let me watch.]
[I’m afraid An’an only enjoys teasing me.]
[The moment I make a move, An’an shrinks back.]
[An’an, oh An’an, what am I supposed to do with you?]
Mu An hastily wiped his face. Not daring to hand the used towel back to his master, he moved to stand up, only to be frozen in place again by a single look.
Shen Shengqing took the towel from him and then handed him some mouthwash.
Mu An felt a sense of unreality throughout the entire morning. It seemed his master wanted to practice master-disciple equality.
[Host, wipe that shocked look off your face. You’re a yandere who likes his master.]
Hearing this, Mu An realized he had broken character and immediately adjusted his expression.
He fluttered his lashes, even managing to summon a hint of moisture in his eyes.
When Shen Shengqing turned and saw the glisten in his eyes, his heart trembled. He immediately stepped forward, took Mu An’s hand, and began to feel his pulse. “Are you feeling unwell somewhere?”
Mu An was speechless for a moment. Then he turned his wrist, the one being held for the pulse, and lightly clasped his master’s wrist in return, their palms pressing together.
“Master~ This disciple only has to think that you will protect me, and my heart feels warm. If I could have met you one day sooner, my life would have been one more day happier.”
Shen Shengqing’s lashes fluttered. He glanced at their intertwined palms, then looked back at Mu An, his expression unchanged. “Your master feels the same way.”
Mu An was stunned. [The pride-of-heaven male lead actually feels happy because of my existence?]
[Host, don’t let your cultivation heart be disturbed.]
Mu An’s carefully built emotions were shattered. “You can look at that handsome face and not feel a thing?”
[No human-machine romance.]
“…Talking to you is a waste of breath.”
Seeing Mu An withdraw his hand, Shen Shengqing nonchalantly lowered his own. Just as he was about to pick out clothes for Mu An, Mu An had already nimbly run to the wardrobe.
“Master, you’re too delicate for this. Please sit down and rest. Your disciple can’t bear to trouble you.”
[Too polite.] Shen Shengqing thought with displeasure.
[Host, this doesn’t make you look like a lovesick yandere at all.]
“I can’t really let my master wait on me hand and foot, can I? That would be too…” Mu An thought for a long time but couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
[Wait a minute. Why should I be the one waiting on my master hand and foot? The moment he waits on me for a bit, I feel something’s off?]
[Oh my god! After being a servant for so long, I’ve developed a servile mindset!]
[Everyone is equal! Mu An!]
[No, after I imprison my master, I’m definitely going to be the master for once.]
After Mu An had tidied himself up, Shen Shengqing proposed taking him along to hunt for the demon spy.
Mu An’s heart jumped. “Master, I might still have residual demonic energy from the demon’s attack on me. What if it affects the results…”
The day before, Shen Shengqing had already explained to him the purpose of the Ten Thousand Artifacts Pavilion’s visit. That compass could detect demonic energy.
Mu An wanted to avoid it, not run toward it.
But Shen Shengqing comforted him, “We can recalibrate the compass so it no longer points to you.”
“But…”
“Mu An, if you’re not by your master’s side, I will worry.” Shen Shengqing suddenly looked at him with great seriousness.
Mu An’s heart stirred, and in the end, he agreed.
