The system’s words did not do much to ease Mu An’s anxiety.
[Host, hurry and lock Shizun up while he is unconscious and has lost his spiritual energy to complete your “confine Shizun” mission.]
Mu An nodded slightly, feeling a sharp pang of pain in his chest as he looked at his master’s blood-stained white robe, and he bent down to change him into a clean one.
Securing his master firmly onto his back, he made haste toward the main city of Laiyang.
The night was deep, and there were very few guards watching over the spatial array.
Furthermore, because he had put disguise masks on both himself and his master, they easily slipped through to Muyan City after paying the spirit stones, without alerting any major figures.
He barely dared to rest, running all the way to Mutian Cliff under the cover of night.
However, he hadn’t had time to purchase a rope of sufficient length yet; after a moment of hesitation, he pricked his master’s finger and used the blood, which still contained a trace of spiritual energy, to open his master’s storage ring.
The moment it opened, Mu An was nearly blinded by the treasures inside; his master was indeed the male lead, possessing an immense abundance of treasures.
After a chaotic search, he retrieved a long whip that could freely extend its length, tying one end to a tree trunk and wrapping the other around his own waist.
Gritting his teeth, he bound his master securely to his back and slithered slowly down the cliffside, eventually arriving at the cave the system had mentioned.
Once inside the pitch-black cave, Mu An realized that the space was exceptionally large, spanning roughly a hundred square meters.
But it was cluttered with rocks and dried grass, so Mu An carefully set his master down on a relatively flat patch of ground and began a thorough cleanup.
Midway through cleaning, Mu An actually found the humor to grumble, “This is the most shabby confinement room in history; the person forced to love me is truly miserable.”
But hidden away here, he refused to believe any righteous figures would ever track them down!
He could lie low here all the way until the plot point arrived—waiting until the female lead was ready to save the male lead before venturing out to play his part and getting killed by her arrow.
Mu An tidied up the cave and used blankets and other items to arrange a relatively soft bedding on the ground, settling his master comfortably onto it.
Then, he felt that his supplies were far too meager; rather than looking like he was keeping his master in a room for forced love, it looked more like he had dragged his master here to live like a beggar.
He decided to go into the city to buy some supplies.
Before leaving, he shackled his master’s hands and feet with iron chains, securing the other end of the chains to the stone wall.
Even the system shook its head at the sight, [If you didn’t say this was forced love, anyone who didn’t know better would think you’ve mastered some sort of power-siphoning technique and locked Shen Shengqing up to drain his cultivation.]
Mu An fell silent; there was no helping it, as everything had been far too rushed.
He stood up and climbed back up the cliff using the whip.
Flight was restricted in this area, which was somewhat inconvenient for him at the moment, but on another level, it served as a form of protection.
Others would not easily discover that his master was hidden in a cave on the cliffside.
Wearing a disguise mask, Mu An hurried to the main city.
Unsurprisingly, many people in the city were now discussing the news that the first disciple of the Wanghua Immortal Lord was a spy for the demon clan.
“I heard that the Wanghua Immortal Lord is currently with that traitor. Surely it won’t be long before that traitor’s head is severed from his body!”
A middle-aged man selling furniture was chatting animatedly with someone, slapping his palm onto the tabletop with a dull thud.
“Shopkeeper, I’ll take all of these.”
The man looked up to see a plain-looking man in green robes, “So many! Is the immortal lord moving into a new home? Congratulations, congratulations!”
Mu An offered a faint smile without replying, paid the money, and swept all the items into his storage ring.
After leaving the furniture shop, he also stopped by a tailor’s shop and bought several sets of red clothes.
In his past acting days, whenever his character darkened or turned villainous, the directors always had him change into a set of crazed red robes.
He felt that he should prepare one for himself now.
It perfectly matched his persona as a crazed villain!
After busying himself for most of the day, it was already late at night by the time he returned to the cave.
The moonlight could only faintly reach the edge of the cave entrance, and the moment Mu An landed, he heard the faint sound of iron chains scraping.
Shizun was awake!
He could not help but feel a flicker of apprehension.
Steeling himself, he worked to adjust his expression, slowly curling his lips into a wicked, insolent smile.
He produced a night-luminescent pearl in his hand, its warm and gentle radiance slowly illuminating the entire cave dwelling.
“Shizun, you are awake…”
Mu An rasped, lowering his voice, but before he could even finish his sentence, his eyes suddenly dilated at the sight before him.
The once cold, proud, white-robed immortal lord now had disheveled hair, his mouth stained with blood, and his pristine white robes dyed a shocking crimson, looking incredibly wretched.
“Shizun!”
Mu An instinctively rushed forward and held him up.
Shen Shengqing leaned dazed and semi-conscious in Mu An’s embrace, a faint glimmer reflected in his dark eyes.
He watched the uncontrollable worry in Mu An’s eyes as Mu An fed him a medicinal pill.
Yet, in his heart, he thought, ‘An’an looks so good in red.’
Mu An channeled his spiritual energy, letting it circulate through Shen Shengqing’s body, causing Shen Shengqing to let out a soft sigh.
Hearing Shen Shengqing’s groan of pain, Mu An comforted him gently, “It’s all right, it’s all right. It won’t hurt soon.”
Mu An held his master tightly, his gaze sweeping over his master’s raw, chafed wrists from the handcuffs, and he knew that his master must have struggled.
After all, any child of heaven who woke up to find their spiritual energy entirely gone and themselves locked in a damp cave would inevitably struggle.
Shen Shengqing coughing up blood this time was probably due to panic, as he attempted to mobilize his spiritual energy and inadvertently forced himself to vomit blood.
After a short while, Shen Shengqing’s breathing gradually returned to normal as he rested motionless against Mu An’s body.
Mu An could only use a cleansing spell to clean the grime off his master.
“Shizun… this disciple has no malicious intent, this disciple only…” Mu An slowly tightened his embrace around Shen Shengqing.
A warm tear suddenly fell onto Shen Shengqing’s cheek.
Shen Shengqing opened his eyes slightly to see Mu An’s reddish, tear-filled eye rims.
“Wants to have Shizun all to myself,” Mu An said slowly. Fully embodying his yandere persona, he pressed his lips together tightly as tear after tear rolled down.
Shen Shengqing felt a pang of heartache watching him and raised a hand to wipe away his tears, only to have his fingers interlocked in a ten-finger grip by Mu An.
“Shizun, I cannot live without you. From now on, this disciple will take care of you, and this disciple will not let Shizun suffer any grievances,” Mu An said, tilting his head slightly to press a kiss onto the back of Shen Shengqing’s hand.
Shifting his gaze to Shen Shengqing’s face, he hoped to see shock or revulsion in his master’s eyes.
After all, no matter how straight a man was, being imprisoned by his own disciple should make him realize something was amiss.
Yet Shen Shengqing simply looked at him quietly, saying not a single word—which actually made Mu An somewhat unsure how to continue his performance.
Shen Shengqing felt his heart racing wildly.
An’an imprisoned him and poisoned him simply because he wanted him all to himself?
So even though An’an didn’t understand what love was, he had already developed a desire to possess him?
Why didn’t An’an just say it directly? He would have accepted it entirely! He had been waiting for this moment all along.
“Shizun, if you knew I was a member of the demon clan, you would definitely keep me at arm’s length, or even kill me, right?” Mu An dutifully walked through the plot. “That’s why I gave you that drug that seals your spiritual energy.”
Shen Shengqing merely furrowed his brow slightly; in truth, he had long since suspected Mu An’s identity.
It was simply that he was unwilling to expose it. Whatever Mu An wished to hide, he had no intention of proactively disrupting.
He opened his mouth, but the sound that emerged was exceptionally raspy, making it impossible to hear a single word clearly.
Mu An was puzzled as well. “What’s wrong with Shizun?”
[Host, his vocal cords were affected by the poison; he’ll probably need to recuperate for quite a while.]
“That drug is way too harsh!” Mu An complained internally. “It’s supposed to just seal spiritual energy, but in reality, not only is it lethal, it even damages his vocal cords the moment he drinks it.”
