Join the ServerAfter the madam and the others left the room, Mu An sighed in relief and slumped back into the armchair.
He was about to ask Yunnan You why he was here, when he heard an extremely soft voice. “Young master, do you enjoy sword dancing?”
Mu An looked at Yunnan You in horror.
Yunnan You gazed at him with sincere eyes, as if he truly didn’t recognize him.
That voice was also soft as water, completely unlike Yunnan You’s normal voice.
“Senior brother! What are you doing?” Mu An tried to snap Yunnan You back to his senses. “We’re alone now. Stop messing with me.”
Hearing this, Yunnan You tilted his head slightly, his eyes full of confusion. “What is the young master saying?”
“Is the young master trying to play some kind of game with me?” He hesitated, pressed his lips together slightly, and then called out in a soft voice, “Junior brother?”
That single “junior brother” was drawn out and lilting, nearly knocking Mu An off his chair.
“System! System! Scan this person immediately and tell me if he’s really Yunnan You!” he called out in panic.
The person before him looked exactly like Yunnan You in appearance and build, yet his demeanor and tone were utterly foreign.
[Scan complete, Host! This person really is Yunnan You.]
Mu An used his spiritual energy to probe the surroundings again. Not sensing anyone else monitoring the area, he leaned closer and used spiritual energy to transmit his voice.
“Senior brother, what exactly are you being cautious about?”
Yunnan You was startled. He looked around, his expression uncertain. “You… was that you just now talking to me?”
Mu An fell completely silent. He was ninety percent sure that Yunnan You had lost his memory, to the point where even spiritual energy transmission frightened him.
“How long have you been here?” Mu An asked tiredly, picking up a teacup and taking a sip.
Yunnan You didn’t understand why the guest had suddenly become so melancholy.
He had only been in training for a few days. The madam had told him that with a face like his, even if he didn’t know how to please guests, he wouldn’t be rejected.
But the person before him was clearly unhappy. Hesitant, he spoke in a low voice. “Your servant… has been here for about five days. This is still your servant’s first time accompanying a guest.”
Mu An felt a slight relief. [Five days isn’t too long. Senior brother’s chastity should still be intact, right?]
“Don’t call yourself ‘your servant’ anymore, and don’t call me ‘young master.’ Just call me junior brother directly.”
Yunnan You understood half of what was said and nodded silently.
“Do you remember why you came here?” Mu An asked.
Yunnan You said softly, “The madam said that when I was a child, my family was poor, so my parents sold me here. The madam raised me from a young age.”
This story was obviously false! But Mu An noticed that Yunnan You seemed to truly believe it.
He had a terrible headache. It seemed that Yunnan You’s transformation must have something to do with that madam. He just didn’t know if there were other forces behind her.
Seeing Mu An frown, Yunnan You rose and fetched a wine jug from the cabinet. He sat down beside Mu An.
“Young master… Junior brother, would you like to try this Peach Blossom Drunk? The wine is rich and mellow. They say drinking it can relieve all sorrows.”
Yunnan You’s tone was sincere, and his clear, bright eyes looked at people like those of an innocent puppy.
But Mu An directly had a vision of a male escort begging a wealthy woman to buy champagne.
Mu An’s lips moved slightly, and he relented. “Pour it.”
[I really have a world of worries right now.]
Yunnan You’s brows curved slightly, as if relieved. He took out a cup, filled it for Mu An, and brought it to his lips.
Mu An reached out to take it, but Yunnan You walked around beside him instead.
Mu An watched his movements in confusion. Suddenly, Yunnan You placed a hand directly on Mu An’s shoulder and sat himself down in Mu An’s lap.
Mu An’s eyes went wide. The wine was immediately brought to his lips.
He instinctively wanted to push Yunnan You away, but he was afraid of spilling the wine all over himself.
“Junior brother, will you drink?”
“You—” As soon as Mu An opened his mouth, the wine was poured in. He was forced to tilt his head back and swallow.
It was probably Yunnan You’s first time feeding someone wine as well, because his movements were too rough. A trickle of wine spilled from Mu An’s thin lips.
Mu An’s eyes narrowed slightly as he finished the entire cup.
When he lowered his head, his eyes met a pair of icy cold ones.
Shen Shengqing, dressed in white, had suddenly appeared in the room. His lifebound sword hummed and trembled faintly in his hand.
His usually calm, placid black eyes were now like ice, cold enough to terrify.
Mu An instinctively shoved hard. Yunnan You, caught off guard, fell to the floor. He lifted his clear, shining eyes and looked innocently at Mu An. “Junior brother…”
Mu An shot to his feet. He looked at Shen Shengqing, then down at Yunnan You on the floor, his face full of innocence.
[When Shen Shengqing opened the door, his world collapsed. His disciple and his grandnephew were tangled together, playing games in a brothel.]
Mu An’s heart let out a trembling scream.
“Master! Master, it’s not what you think! I—”
Shen Shengqing could no longer hear what Mu An was saying. Furious, he drew his lifebound sword, pushed Mu An aside, and swung the sword at Yunnan You.
Yunnan You screamed in terror and raised his hands to block.
Bang—Yunnan You’s protective magical artifact instantly raised a barrier. A blue shield blocked Shen Shengqing’s lethal strike.
But Yunnan You still coughed up a mouthful of blood. His clear, shining eyes were full of shock and innocence. He had no idea what was happening.
Mu An stood frozen in place in terror. [Why would Shen Shengqing want to kill Yunnan You?]
Even if Yunnan You had come to a brothel and violated the sect rules, it certainly wasn’t grounds to purge him from the sect.
Seeing that Shen Shengqing was about to strike anyway, Mu An’s body reacted faster than his brain, and he immediately rushed forward to shield Yunnan You.
He dropped straight to his knees in front of Shen Shengqing, “Shizun!”
The blue sword qi hovered right before Mu An’s forehead, Shen Shengqing’s chest heaving slightly, his eyes horrifyingly dark.
To think that yesterday he had foolishly assumed An’an was simply feeling cooped up in the sect and wanted to get some fresh air down the mountain, never expecting that he had actually come down here purely for a secret rendezvous with Yunnan You.
The two of them had even rendezvoused all the way to a brothel.
Look at Yunnan You—painted with powder and rouge, a red plum blossom painted between his brows, sporting the absolute air of a courtesan house habitué. Clearly older than An’an, he was cowering behind An’an right now, looking utterly pitiful.
Simply shameless. Anyone who shamelessly seduced An’an like this deserved to die.
“Step aside,” Shen Shengqing commanded coldly.
The spiritual pressure of the Spiritual Transformation stage pressed down upon them, causing both men to tremble uncontrollably.
Mu An’s soul shook, suddenly realizing that if his master wanted to kill him, it would be as easy as crushing an ant, and a sliver of fear welled up in his heart.
Yet, he couldn’t just watch Yunnan You get inexplicably hacked to death by his master’s sword—especially since Yunnan You currently had amnesia.
“Shizun,” Mu An explained with a trembling voice, “Senior Brother, he… Senior Brother has amnesia!”
“He has amnesia? And I suppose you have amnesia too?!”
Shen Shengqing sneered, “He has amnesia, so that makes it okay for him to sit on your lap and entangle with you?”
The sight of the two of them sharing a single seat, their robes intertwined, was more terrifyingly shocking to his mind than the tribulation lightning he had encountered during his ascension back then, pain coursing from the pathways of his heart through all four limbs.
And yet Mu An was still protecting him at a time like this—was Yunnan You really more important to him than his own life?
“We didn’t do anything!” Mu An’s heart was a flustered mess, his delicate brows furrowed tightly as his eyes carried a hint of grievance.
“Senior Brother and I are innocent! It’s just that Senior Brother has amnesia, so he mistakenly believed he was a courtesan and fed me wine.”
“I was just afraid the wine would spill, so I planned to drink it first and then push him away, I…” The more Mu An explained, the feebler it sounded.
Cowering behind Mu An, Yunnan You shook with fright. Terrified, he recalled hearing from his bros during training that some married spouses liked to visit brothels and would occasionally run into catching their partners cheating.
He suspected his current bad luck was just that—he’d run into the jealous main spouse.
A panicked mess inside, he immediately recalled the solution his brothers had given him for encountering such situations, and blurted out tremulously, “Th… this Immortal Lord, you… your husband and I really didn’t do anything.”
Shen Shengqing’s gaze instantly snapped toward Yunnan You, startling him so badly that the terror on his face looked completely genuine.
“W… we were just drinking, we didn’t even hold hands! Your husband was very well-behaved.”
Husband?
Hearing this, Shen Shengqing’s gaze shifted back to Mu An, taking in the grievance and helplessness in the youth’s eyes.
The hand Shen Shengqing used to grip his sword loosened slightly, the ferocious expression on his face fading away.
Seeing this, Mu An let out an inward sigh of relief.
Yunnan You’s nonsense had come at the most opportune time; a single hearing was all it took for Shizun to realize Yunnan You wasn’t quite right in the head right now.
