Join the ServerLin Qingxue’s finger twitched.
She watched the little blind girl hugging her leg, covered in injuries.
The bandage on her shoulder, the gauze on her ear, the bruises on her arms. Her white hair, pulled out in clumps, lay scattered on the floor like broken snow.
Even though most of those injuries were inflicted by Lin Qingxue herself.
She didn’t know why.
She felt no guilt.
But now Su Yutao, broken like this, was still begging her. She wanted to stay by her side that badly?
Lin Qingxue thought, someone like me, who only kills and hurts, would really have someone begging to stay with me?
She fell silent, sitting motionless.
The man in black finally recovered. He crawled up shakily, his legs pressed together.
He looked at Su Yutao, his face flushed red, his eyes bloodshot.
He cursed.
“f*ck! You little bastard can run, huh? You even kicked me! Think you can get away from your Grandpa Huang? When I catch you, I’ll be the first to have fun with you!”
He covered his groin, charged over, and lifted his foot, aiming a kick at Su Yutao’s back. The sole of his shoe whistled through the air.
Qiansui screamed, “Watch out!”
But Su Yutao couldn’t hear.
Just as his foot was about to land on Su Yutao’s back.
Lin Qingxue moved.
She reached out, grabbed that foot, and twisted hard.
“Crack.”
The sound of bone bending sideways.
The man in black screamed, toppled backward, and hit the ground.
He clutched his foot, his face pale with pain, tears and snot streaming.
He cursed, his voice sharp and trembling.
“Lin Xue! What the hell is wrong with you? Are you rebelling?!”
He pulled a gun from his waist, the dark muzzle aimed at Lin Qingxue’s forehead.
Su Yutao rested her head on Lin Qingxue’s thigh, her head touching Qiansui, who was on the leg.
Qiansui urgently said to Su Yutao, “Keep begging her! Keep begging! Damn, it’s working!”
“That guy tried to kick you, and Lin Qingxue grabbed his leg and twisted him to the ground!”
“Keep begging, keep begging!”
This time, Su Yutao heard. She felt she might be saved.
She didn’t know if what Qiansui said was true.
She only knew she had to keep begging, begging this person not to hand her over.
She threw herself onto Lin Qingxue, wrapping her arms around her waist.
She buried her face in Lin Qingxue’s chest, squeezing Qiansui between them.
Qiansui was crushed, barely able to breathe, and muttered, “I’m getting killed here…”
Seeing Su Yutao hold her tighter, Lin Qingxue grew even more silent.
She looked down at the little blind girl, holding her, face pressed against her chest, trembling all over.
She thought, why did I grab that man’s foot and twist it just now?
If this little thing is taken away, what’s it to me?
At most, she’s a pet, a punching bag.
But why?
Probably because she pleases me.
Yeah, that must be it.
Not many things can make me happy. This little thing counts as one.
She looked up, facing the muzzle of the man in black’s gun.
She reached out, grabbed Su Yutao off her, and flung her into the corner.
Su Yutao hit the ground, rolled, and slammed into the wall. It hurt.
But she didn’t cry out. She just curled up, hugging herself, waiting for Lin Qingxue’s next move. Because she knew she was safe.
Qiansui had been squeezed between them for a while, finally thrown off, landing on the ground, gasping, though they didn’t need to breathe, they still took a big gulp.
“Phew… I can finally breathe…”
Lin Qingxue flashed forward, grabbed the barrel of the man in black’s gun, hooked her fingers around it, and lifted it upward.
Then she kicked the man’s hand.
“Crack.”
Another bone-breaking sound.
The gun flew out of the man’s hand. Lin Qingxue caught it, holding it in her palm.
She looked down at the man, her voice cold as winter wind.
“Alright.”
“I’ve changed my mind.”
“Suddenly, I don’t want her to leave.”
She spun the gun in her hand, aiming the muzzle at the man’s head.
“My things, who said you could take them away?”
“I haven’t had my fill of this little thing yet.”
The man in black clutched his broken hand, shivering in pain, his face pale as paper.
He looked at the gun in Lin Qingxue’s hand, then at her icy eyes, his lips trembling.
“Lin Xue… you’re really going to rebel… If you let me go back alive…”
His words stuck in his throat as he saw Lin Qingxue turn, walk to the cabinet, pull open the bottom drawer, and take out a knife from a hidden compartment.
A long knife. The blade gleamed coldly under the light, intricate patterns glowing on its surface.
She walked back and pressed the knife against the man’s neck, the blade cold against his skin.
“Killing you doesn’t require a gun. Waste of bullets. I haven’t been on a mission in a while, and this knife hasn’t seen blood in a long time.”
“Besides, I do whatever I want.”
Her voice was light, indifferent, as if talking about something trivial.
“I said I changed my mind. Don’t you understand?”
“And you still want to go back alive?”
The man’s crotch was soaked. A stench of urine spread.
He trembled all over, mouth open, unable to make a sound.
Just then, Lin Qingxue’s phone rang.
Not the one from earlier. The other one. Black, matte shell, the one she used for missions.
She glanced at the caller ID, frowned, and answered.
The familiar voice came through, tired and helpless.
– “Lin Xue, that’s enough. If you really kill this man, I won’t be able to protect you. This is Boss Wang’s nephew.”
– “If you really kill him…”
– “If you really want to keep that little thing, I’ll find a way. But don’t do it. If you do, it’ll be hard for me to explain. I’ll probably have to write a ten-thousand-word report to keep you safe.”
Lin Qingxue clicked her tongue, pulled the knife away from the man’s neck, her voice tinged with impatience.
“Fine. For your sake.”
She glanced down at the man collapsed on the floor, looking at him like garbage, and said disdainfully.
“Get lost.”
The man scrambled up, his broken hand dangling by his side, his crotch soaked, limping as he ran out.
At the door, he looked back at Lin Qingxue, his lips twitching as if to say something, but seeing Lin Qingxue aiming the gun at him, he swallowed his words.
He ran.
The footsteps faded, lighter and lighter, until they disappeared into the corridor.
The other men in black struggled up, leaning on broken arms, holding their heads, limping, and followed.
The room fell silent.
Lin Qingxue put the knife away, back in the cabinet.
She dismantled the gun, scattering the parts on the table.
She turned, walked to the corner, and looked down at Su Yutao, curled into a ball.
The little blind girl hugged herself, trembling, huddled there.
Her hair was a mess, strands pulled out lying on the floor.
Her lips were cracked, still trembling slightly, as if saying something, but no sound came out.
Lin Qingxue bent down, scooped her up from the floor, and held her in her arms.
Su Yutao curled up in her arms. She didn’t rub against her, didn’t hook her collar, didn’t try to please her.
She just shrank, hugging herself, trembling.
Lin Qingxue carried her back to the bed, laid her down in the covers, and pulled the blanket over her.
She didn’t know why, today…
