Chapter 50: The Healer’s Deception

“Oh my heavens,” Su Yingning gasped softly, her hand flying to cover her mouth, “It’s a Horned Wyrm subspecies BOSS! The incredibly rare Red Water Dragon!” In her hand, she clutched a lacquered red arcane bestiary.

We were currently concealed in the small lake behind that large group of players, our heads hidden among the thick reeds, ensuring we remained undetected.

‘So they’re secretly taking on a world BOSS,’ Su Yingning thought, gritting her teeth and glaring at the scene before them. ‘No wonder they’re being so furtive!’ A decision instantly solidified in her mind. “You, return to the pet space. I’ll immediately post this video along with their coordinates on the forums… These beasts want to hog the spoils? Hmph… in their dreams!”

“Wait!” Su Shunhua quickly interrupted Su Yingning’s attempt to upload the video. “The BOSS’s health is already past half. Those people might not arrive in time, and even if they do, they can’t take a shortcut in like we did. Sword Sweeping the World’s members have already blocked all entrances! While they won’t hold out for long, they can still tie them up for a bit. By then, the BOSS inside might already be defeated. So your plan won’t work; it’s not secure enough.”

Su Yingning looked at Su Shunhua with surprise, truly astonished that he, a mere game pet, could repeatedly offer such clever strategies to his owner. This left her feeling a mix of frustration and pleasant surprise. “Then what should we do? Xiaoya, do you have any ideas?”

“Call me ‘Big Sister,’ and I’ll tell you!” Su Shunhua awkwardly turned his head away.

‘This is so frustrating!’ Su Shunhua thought. ‘Why am I not a male pet…? No, wait, why am I a pet at all! In reality, this little girl is nothing but my shadow. I finally have a chance to establish a glorious ‘Big Brother’ image in her mind, yet I’m stuck in this form!’

‘Unacceptable! Even if I can’t be ‘Big Brother,’ I must at least be ‘Big Sister’!’

‘This is a matter of principle!’

“Pet command: Explain obediently!”

‘Hey, hey, hey, you’re not playing by the rules!’

“Master, my suggestion is to use a two-pronged approach!” Su Shunhua said, forced into obedience.

“A two-pronged approach?”

“Exactly! We’ll implement both methods simultaneously to thoroughly muddy the waters!”

Faint Tobacco Scent was a priest. Although his name suggested a weathered, ‘uncle’ vibe, he possessed the image of a delicate, fair-skinned high school student.

At that moment, his hands, clutching his priest’s staff, were slick with sweat. The prolonged, high-intensity combat, which had kept his nerves taut, had long since left him utterly exhausted.

Feeling a sudden weight on his shoulder, Faint Tobacco Scent, despite his busyness, managed to spare a glance backward.

The moment his gaze landed, he found himself unable to tear his eyes away.

He had seen many beautiful female players, but he had never encountered anyone quite like the demoness girl before him. She was pure and lovely, yet exuded an indescribable allure, soft and gentle—a peerless beauty whose mere presence could refresh one’s spirit.

If he had to put a finger on it, it was her femininity! The aura of womanhood emanating from this demoness beauty before him was the most potent he had ever witnessed!

“Big brother, you must be tired, right? How about you take a break? I’ll take over for you!” Su Shunhua thought, ‘I have no idea what this man is thinking.’ He then pursed his lips and winked at him.

The man instantly felt a tingling sensation spread throughout his body, completely forgetting his own name and identity. Blushing furiously, he nodded repeatedly.

‘What a naive little guy,’ Su Shunhua mused. ‘One look and you can tell he’s a rookie… Ugh, why do I have such a terrible way of judging people!’

Su Shunhua diligently cast healing spells, one after another, onto the main Tank.

“Um… what’s your name?” the man, or rather, the young boy, asked shyly.

“Me? My name is a bit too embarrassing to say right now.” Su Shunhua offered an apologetic smile.

“Haha, Tobacco! When did you hook up with such a stunning girl? And a healer, no less! Aren’t you going to introduce her to us?”

“Yeah, yeah!”

A chorus of agreement and laughter erupted around them, and soon, all eyes converged on Su Shunhua.

Su Shunhua smiled shyly, continuing to cast healing spells onto the main Tank.

‘Assassin’s Mandatory Course, Lesson One: Disguise!’

‘One must be able to seamlessly adopt different roles at any time, in any place—courier, chef, waiter, salesman, cleaner, repairman, driver, elderly person, student, businessman, homosexual, or even a woman!’

‘One must remain calm in times of crisis. Even when deep in enemy territory, surrounded by foes, where the slightest misstep could lead to utter annihilation, one must still be able to truly immerse themselves in the role at any moment, becoming the identity they portray—to such an extent that even an Oscar-winning actor would feel ashamed in comparison!’

‘Excellent, the art of disguise has not grown rusty.’

‘Next, Assassin’s Mandatory Course, Lesson Two!’

‘Infiltration!’
