Chapter 91: Fiery Fury and Hard Mode Plans

Elite Giant Wolf Spider Captain, Level 30 (Trait: Enhanced HP) HP: 300000

Elite Giant Wolf Spider Captain, Level 30 (Trait: Enhanced Agility) HP: 200000

Elite monsters inherently possessed stats several times greater than their common counterparts, and the traits specified in parentheses amplified these attributes by dozens of times more than a regular monster’s.

Confronted by these terrifying wolf spiders, Su Yingning, suppressing a surge of nausea, made an immediate decision and issued an order:

“The passage is narrow; we must retreat. Do not stand in the middle of the spawn point, surrounded on all sides!”

We fell back into the tunnel, where spiders, each at least half a person tall, swarmed in after us.

Seeing the dense swarm of spiders, Su Yingning’s face paled slightly:

“I’ll tank the monsters… you all focus on damage… Xiaoya, you’ll be in charge of…”

“I’ll tank,” Su Shunhua interrupted Su Yingning.

“How can that be? I’m a warrior, and you’re a healer…” Su Yingning’s voice was laced with urgency.

“It’s fine, my HP is much higher than yours… In fact, I’m quite suited to be a tank; it’s just a shame my damage output isn’t enough to hold aggro. But there’s no time for chatter now!” Su Shunhua chuckled, then, seizing the moment while Su Yingning’s legs felt weak, he squeezed past her.

He raised his priest’s staff horizontally, blocking a lunging wolf spider.

The creature was monstrously large; Su Shunhua could even see the hairs on its pointed claws with terrifying clarity.

It was already a feat that the young girls hadn’t burst into tears.

“Tha… thank you…”

“Thank you so much… *retch*.”

From behind Su Yingning, Cannon Fairy’s dry retching could be heard, immediately followed by a furious roar bordering on madness,

“Die! Flame Storm!”

The Flame Storm erupted within the confined cavern, akin to the earth-shattering explosions seen in Hollywood blockbusters.

Flames instantly engulfed the narrow space, then compressed and converged, erupting outwards with immense concussive force and searing hot wind!

It truly *sprayed* forth!

The common monsters were practically blown away.

Although Flame Storm typically didn’t inflict high damage, the confined terrain meant these creatures suffered not only burn damage but also collision damage, knockback damage, and flame jet damage, effectively wiping out more than half of them in an instant.

One had to admit, unleashing Flame Storm in such a place was incredibly satisfying.

The entire cavern transformed into a fiery tumble dryer; spiderwebs were instantly incinerated, melting into viscous liquid, and the smaller, common spiders spun wildly as they were blasted backward.

“Ah ha ha ha! So satisfying, so glorious! You tried to disgust me! Come on, then! Come on!”

Though she had anticipated being swarmed and thus prepared a Flame Storm spell beforehand, Cannon Fairy had still been thoroughly disgusted.

Now, witnessing the spiders’ pathetic demise, she laughed wildly as if a new world had opened before her, transforming into a human artillery battery, and began to relentlessly bombard the remaining spiders.

It was easy to imagine that, from now on, her reaction to seeing insects in real life would no longer be fear, but a desire to reduce them to dust.

‘I suddenly felt that women could be truly terrifying…’

This single Flame Storm had eliminated most of the smaller monsters, leaving the cavern floor glittering with equipment and gold coins.

Unfortunately, while the small fry were dealt with, two much larger foes remained.

“I’m not afraid of the big ones… it’s those swarming little things that scare me. I’ll tank them.”

Seeing the smaller monsters almost completely annihilated, Su Yingning had regained her composure and spoke up.

“One each. The cave is narrow, so the two of us together can perfectly block this spot, leaving ample space for the squishy damage dealers in the back.”

Su Shunhua stepped aside, clearing enough room for one person.

“Alright!”

Su Yingning wasted no words, instantly flashing into position.

With this setup, as long as neither of them fell, the two elite monsters wouldn’t be able to touch the backline mages, thus creating a perfect damage-dealing environment for them.

Su Shunhua’s current maximum HP stood at 1200, which increased to 1567 with the addition of Moon Goddess’s Blessing.

Su Yingning’s maximum HP was 960, reaching 1327 with Moon Goddess’s Blessing.

Ordinarily, a priest shouldn’t be so tanky; Su Shunhua’s base HP was even higher than a warrior’s.

However, as a pet, his base attributes were exceptionally abnormal.

Yet, because Su Shunhua wore cloth armor while warriors donned plate armor, his physical defense paled significantly in comparison to a warrior’s.

Moreover, lacking damage output, he couldn’t maintain monster aggro.

Therefore, under normal circumstances, a warrior should still serve as the main tank against a boss, with Su Shunhua’s role being healing and overseeing the overall situation.

Indeed, healers typically commanded a party, their position being ideal for surveying the entire battlefield.

However, since Su Shunhua was unfamiliar with this particular dungeon, he had temporarily entrusted the command to Cannon Fairy.

The battle proved far easier than anticipated.

Su Shunhua and Su Yingning’s levels were simply too high, a full six levels above these two monsters.

The difference created by these six levels was not as simple as one plus one equals two, for being five or more levels higher granted additional damage reduction.

Nevertheless, these two elite monsters possessed an undeniably thick hide, with one having 300,000 HP and the other 200,000 HP.

They were typical traditional dungeon elites: high HP, low attack compared to players, and rather simplistic attack patterns, making the fight tedious and dull.

Cannon Fairy and Qingyu’s friend, both mages, continuously unleashed ranged attacks.

Su Yingning, too, furiously hacked away with Fire Mother is Not Happy At All, dealing explosive damage.

Only Qingyu, a short-range rogue, was left to squat in a corner, watching the spectacle unfold.

“With two gods like you leading the way, it looks like we’ll get the ‘First Clear of Spider’s Nest’ achievement today! An achievement reward of one attribute point~ Ah! I’m so happy!”

Cannon Fairy no longer showed any signs of being terrified to the point of weak knees by the spiders; instead, her face beamed with happiness.

Cannon Fairy was a voluptuous female player, her generous curves tightly encased by her fiery-red mage’s robe, seemingly on the verge of spilling out, making her appear both seductive and wild.

Yet, according to Su Yingning, Cannon Fairy was a very gentle older sister, who had always looked after her and possessed considerable acumen, managing Gunfire Rose with remarkable order.

“After we’re done here, we should visit the Hard difficulty for sightseeing,” Su Yingning chuckled, then glanced at Su Shunhua.

“But only the four of us will go; Xiaoya can’t.”

Su Shunhua knew Su Yingning feared he might accidentally die in the dungeon.

The monsters in Hard difficulty dungeons were nearly level 40, their damage output on a completely different tier from Easy difficulty.

Even with the option to abandon the dungeon and teleport back to the entrance at any time, it remained highly dangerous.

If Su Shunhua were to be unexpectedly one-shot, their next reunion might not occur for several years.

“No, I’m going too.” Su Shunhua’s reply was unequivocal.

“Absolutely not! Don’t you have other things to do? Another day, perhaps!”

Su Yingning froze for a moment, then frantically winked at Su Shunhua.

“I have nothing! I’m the older sister, and what I say goes!” Su Shunhua smugly raised an eyebrow; with outsiders present, Su Yingning wouldn’t dare zap him.

So, he continued to court disaster under the guise of an all-powerful older sister.

“Alright, it’s settled then!”

With that, the decision was final, and their next itinerary was set.
