Chapter 65: The Power of Divinity

Bai Yu completely disregarded the high-tier Shadow Beasts, knowing full well she was no match for them.

“What should I do?”

Staring at the divinity before her, Bai Yu found herself at a loss, unsure how to claim it.

To her, the divinity was merely an unidentified object, radiating a dazzling white light, its physical form—if it even had one—obscured.

[Do nothing; this is enough.]

Moweila’s calm voice made Bai Yu pause, and in that instant, she noticed everything around her seemed to have frozen.

It was as if time itself had halted; the Shadow Beasts, moments away from reaching her, were now motionless.

Concurrently, the entire world drained of color, turning to shades of black and white, as if vibrancy had utterly vanished from this dream realm.

Yet, Bai Yu found herself able to move freely within this suspended state, unhindered.

“Why does this feel so familiar?”

Bai Yu perceived the temporal stasis; this was not her own ability. The only plausible explanation lay with the divinity before her.

Snapping back to reality, Bai Yu watched as the white orb of light drifted towards her chest, then seamlessly merged into her very being.

“What is this?”

A flicker of apprehension crossed Bai Yu’s mind; surely, this wouldn’t harm her.

The ease with which she acquired it left her with a distinct sense of unreality.

Bai Yu instinctively reached for her chest, only to find nothing.

It was utterly empty; the white light had completely integrated into her body.

[It wasn’t simple. It’s because your body is unique, allowing you to accept divinity.]

In an instant, a torrent of surging spiritual energy threatened to overflow from her, imbuing her with a sensation of invincibility.

Simultaneously, the divinity within her was fully absorbed, and Bai Yu even felt as though she could detonate it at will.

[I advise you against it. While detonating the divinity would allow you to reach a divine level for a short period, the consequences are something you cannot bear.]

Moweila’s tone was grave, a severity Bai Yu had never before heard from her.

“Cannot bear? What would be the price?”

Yet, Bai Yu’s curiosity remained piqued. After all, it promised the direct power of a deity, making her truly invincible. With such an ultimate advantage at hand, what was there to fear? She could simply indulge herself without restraint.

[I trust you wouldn’t want to know. In that scenario, death might be the least of your worries.]

Moweila’s words sent a shiver down Bai Yu’s spine, prompting her to cease her questioning.

“So, what’s happening now? Why is my spiritual energy so abundant? How do I leave this dream, and why does it feel like time has stopped?”

Bai Yu peppered her with questions, for this situation was truly unprecedented in her experience.

[After you absorb the divinity, there will be a residual period of divine afterglow, lasting about ten minutes. During this time, your power will significantly increase—though not to a truly divine level, it will surpass anything you previously imagined. This ability, resembling temporal stasis, is likely the power of time interwoven within the divinity itself.]

Moweila seemed to be in high spirits, having never anticipated Bai Yu’s compatibility with divinity to be so profound.

[Honestly, your ability to reach this level truly exceeds my expectations. I initially thought the divinity would, at most, only smooth your path to higher ranks and make you stronger. Yet now, you even possess the potential to ascend to godhood.]

“Ascend to godhood?”

The notion startled Bai Yu; after all, there had never been a precedent for mortals ascending to godhood in this world.

Moreover, the very existence of deities was a truth known only to a select few.

The idea that she could defy this convention and directly embark on a path to godhood inevitably left her astonished.

[Your surprise is understandable, as even I cannot fathom your secrets. However, it’s too early for such discussions. Let us leave this place first. With your current power, there’s no need to wait for the Shadow Beasts to disperse on their own; simply eliminate them all.]

Moweila’s dispassionate words struck a chord of terror in Bai Yu. While these Shadow Beasts seemed unintelligent, Bai Yu wouldn’t spare them merely because some vaguely resembled girls.

The word “eliminate” still weighed heavily on Bai Yu.

Nevertheless, Bai Yu didn’t dwell on it. Feeling the abundant spiritual energy coursing through her, she casually unleashed a [Silvermoon Slash] toward the Shadow Beast army.

Bai Yu was merely testing her newfound strength; she didn’t bother with the more complex spells from her dream memories, deeming the Silvermoon Slash the most classic and reliable.

After all, low consumption and high speed made it her preferred ability.

However, the sheer force of this particular attack nearly blasted Bai Yu backward.

A silver blade of light, hundreds of meters long, shot forth from before Bai Yu, traversing several kilometers in the blink of an eye.

Wherever it passed, high-tier and low-tier Shadow Beasts alike were cleaved in two. The entire army, like a tidal wave crashing, dissolved one after another into black particles and vanished.

It was akin to harvesting wheat; in a single instant, all the Shadow Beasts were annihilated as if they were nothing more than a jest.

Yet, it wasn’t over. The blade of light continued its rapid flight through the air, plunging into a distant mountain range and carving a clean, distinct mark across its entirety.

Then came an earth-shattering roar as the towering, overlapping mountains toppled in unison, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the sky in the distance.

The resounding boom echoed for thousands of miles, reaching Bai Yu’s ears and causing her expression to tighten.

Fortunately, Bai Yu had noted the position of Cecilia’s knight order; otherwise, that single blade of light might have inadvertently harmed the soldiers.

The moment the Shadow Beasts were eradicated, the temporal stasis vanished instantly, and everything returned to normal.

The knights gazed at the utterly vanished Shadow Beasts, looking around in confusion. They hadn’t even begun to fight, yet everything was gone.

Cecilia, however, was the first to react. Her gaze fixed on Bai Yu, and in her eyes, Bai Yu understood that the plan had concluded with an ease she herself had barely dared to imagine.

In a flash, Bai Yu’s vision went black. The entire dream realm was collapsing, everything caving in and converging, then shrinking to a single point, which seamlessly fused into Bai Yu’s body.

Even the Shadow Beasts controlled by Bai Yu dissolved into dust amidst this collapsing tide, becoming black particles that vanished completely.

In the outskirts of Xian City, within a dilapidated black limousine, Bai Yu slowly opened her eyes.

Her eyes snapped open, her formerly silvery-white pupils transforming instantly into golden ones, followed by a sudden, ragged gasp.

“What is this?”

Bai Yu emerged from the confusion clouding her mind, realizing she had undoubtedly left the dream realm for good.

She saw Lu Xingyao beside her, checked her body, and felt a wave of relief upon finding her unharmed.

By the looks of it, the others had yet to awaken from the dream.
