“Hold my hand, don’t get lost.” Bai Yu turned her head, speaking to Ellie Roth who was behind her.

The blizzard here was truly immense, with snowflakes completely obscuring Bai Yu’s vision.

The gale howled fiercely. If Bai Yu were merely an ordinary person, her child-like stature would likely be swept away in less than a second.

Shielded by the wings, the blizzard’s intensity visibly diminished. Bai Yu and Ellie Roth wasted no precious time, pushing forward at full speed into the depths of the storm.

After an unknown duration, as Bai Yu sensed the blizzard gradually weakening, she realized her spiritual energy had quietly been depleted beyond expectations.

This astonished her; it was the first time she had expended such a vast amount of spiritual energy since becoming a Witch.

“I’m fine, let’s keep going.” Ellie Roth waved her hand, refusing the sustenance Bai Yu offered.

“Honestly…” Bai Yu frowned. Ellie Roth was acting reserved again; why hadn’t she been so prim when Bai Yu had helped her with her foot?

Bai Yu directly pushed the food into Ellie Roth’s mouth, then forced her to drink water, ensuring she consumed it.

Her current state clearly indicated a severe lack of spiritual energy. It seemed this blizzard was too much even for a Tier 5 Arcanist to endure.

This was an ultimate test of spiritual energy. Though Bai Yu didn’t know why such a phenomenon existed, they had, at least, escaped its most terrifying phase.

Observing the diminishing blizzard, Bai Yu finally exhaled in relief. Regardless of whether the fabled homeland truly lay ahead, they had at least escaped the terrifying storm.

Bai Yu herself wasn’t a concern for now; she could endure for a while longer, though she would be considerably weakened.

Ellie Roth, however, was a different story. Her current state of spiritual energy depletion could genuinely become life-threatening if it continued.

“Thank you…” Ellie Roth murmured, her face flushed with embarrassment. After all, in such extreme conditions, receiving help when one had nothing was the quickest way to foster goodwill.

‘This rival is truly different,’ Ellie Roth mused inwardly, as she leaned against Bai Yu, eyes closed.

“Quickly, rest. We haven’t fully left the blizzard yet,” Bai Yu urged, though she herself felt uncertain. “Who knows if it might suddenly worsen? We must seize this time.” Weather, especially in a mystic world, was notoriously unpredictable; for all she knew, some deity might be conjuring this storm.

“Mm.” Ellie Roth, like a child, fell asleep on Bai Yu’s shoulder. It was the most peaceful rest she had ever experienced.

“Ah, fine.” Bai Yu shook her head, then simply hoisted Ellie Roth onto her back.

Though Bai Yu was considerably shorter than Ellie Roth, her physical prowess allowed her to carry Ellie Roth with ease.

‘I’ll definitely find a way to get repaid later…’ Bai Yu thought to herself, feeling as though she were supporting a freeloader who only ate and slept.

Yet, she couldn’t truly blame Ellie Roth, who had already done everything within her power.

‘Still, she provides some emotional value,’ Bai Yu conceded. At the very least, having her by her side made Bai Yu feel less bored.

Carrying Ellie Roth on her back, Bai Yu finally emerged from the blizzard.

The dim sky gradually brightened, yet the sun remained hidden from view.

“What’s that…?” Bai Yu gazed at two towering mountains in the distance, standing so close together that they left only a narrow passage between them.

Bai Yu surveyed her surroundings. There seemed to be no other way to proceed but through that path.

‘Since we’ve come this far, we might as well go in and see,’ she decided.

Noticing that Ellie Roth was still asleep, Bai Yu simply carried her into the narrow path.

Although it appeared quite narrow from a distance, the path proved surprisingly spacious upon entry. Several people could pass through it simultaneously without issue.

As Bai Yu walked deeper into the path, she noticed the ambient air growing progressively warmer.

The scenery around them was no longer a monotonous expanse of black rock and white snow. Instead, vibrant greenery began to emerge.

Most strikingly, plants were now sprouting from the previously barren rock crevices beneath their feet.

This astonished Bai Yu immensely; it was the first time she had witnessed any signs of life here, apart from ‘that person.’

Bai Yu patted Ellie Roth on her back. “Wake up, lazybones!”

Ellie Roth rubbed her eyes, then hopped off Bai Yu’s back and glanced around.

“Where did I fall asleep? Where are we? Did we make it out?”

“Out? Don’t be ridiculous, you must have slept yourself silly! We just found a path,” Bai Yu retorted.

Bai Yu rolled her eyes, then recounted the scene she had just witnessed to Ellie Roth.

Ellie Roth looked down at the plants on the ground. What would normally be mundane now appeared incredibly precious to her.

“This is…” Ellie Roth stared at Bai Yu in astonishment.

Bai Yu nodded. “Let’s keep moving forward. Even if this isn’t the way out, it’s bound to hold important clues.”

Bai Yu turned, continuing her journey deeper into the path.
