Without hesitation, Ellie Roth drew her Curse Seal Blade.

The three runes engraved upon it simultaneously flickered as she instantly swung her sword.

The earth trembled as jagged rock spikes erupted from below, surging towards the church wreathed in roaring flames.

Just as the spikes were about to shatter the church, the skeletal structures seemed to awaken, intercepting the assault and forcing the flames to invade.

“Oh?”

Ellie Roth felt a hint of surprise, yet she paid little mind to these obstacles.

Screams of agony erupted from within the church as the Monks, with all exits blocked by Ellie Roth, were relentlessly scorched by the inferno.

“Pathetic.”

Ellie Roth narrowed her eyes; the entire battle had lasted mere minutes.

She stepped into the ruins of the church, knowing that these flames alone would not be enough to kill the Bishop.

Unlike Bai Yu’s Heaven’s Fire, her own flames were merely ordinary.

An aged voice emanated from within the flames.

A wizened old man slowly emerged from the inferno, his robes completely untouched by the fire, his body showing no signs of injury.

It seemed her opponent this time was far stronger than she had anticipated.

She unleashed a black blade of light, sending it soaring towards the Bishop.

The Bishop reacted as if facing a mortal enemy; the sheer intensity of the attack instilled dread in him.

He raised the staff beside him, instantly conjuring a shield of bone around himself.

Layer upon layer, it encased the Bishop tightly.

Yet, the black blade of light struck like a heavy hammer, shattering the bone shield and sending the Bishop stumbling.

The Bishop, who had been squinting, opened his eyes slightly.

“Such immense power! You’re definitely not from within the walls. Damn it, how did you get in?!”

The Bishop seemed gripped by terror, retreating step by step.

He knew he was no match for the young woman before him; if this continued, he would surely die.

“God, grant me the power to protect myself!”

The Bishop immediately raised his staff, and several purple light pillars instantly appeared before him.

As the light faded, giant pythons materialized before the Bishop, opening their blood-soaked mouths and lunging towards Ellie Roth.

“Utterly ridiculous.”

Ellie Roth’s white eye shimmered, but it failed to alter the arcanist spell before her.

“How is this possible?”

Ellie Roth frowned.

Aside from Bai Yu, this was only the second time her eyes had failed to work.
