Join the Server“Raid? Do the two of you not know what a Transcendent is?”
Laika froze on the spot. From her perspective, Bai Yu and Ellie Roth certainly didn’t seem like ordinary people.
How could ordinary people possess such formidable power?
Just moments ago, these two had knocked out everyone in her squad in an instant.
If they were considered ordinary, then what did that make Laika?
A cripple?
“No, no, no, if we go by your definition, then we are probably those ‘Transcendents’ as well.”
Bai Yu quickly stepped forward to clarify. She was eager to understand how people with mystical powers were referred to in this place.
She also wanted to know about the development of mystical powers here, especially since Laika’s earlier combat had been utterly pathetic.
“However, where we come from—beyond the wall, that is—people who possess such mystical powers are called Arcanists.”
“Arcanists?”
Laika tilted her head, looking at Bai Yu with confusion.
“Precisely. If I’m not mistaken, the transcendent power you possess likely awakened when you were twelve years old, didn’t it?”
Bai Yu had already observed Laika’s power, the golden-yellow glow that enveloped her arrows.
She gazed into Laika’s eyes. Though they were an ordinary brown, their peculiar luster held a certain allure for Bai Yu.
“Yes, all Transcendent powers awaken at the age of twelve.”
Laika nodded.
“In that case, what kind of power did you awaken? And what methods do you use here to increase your strength? Are there any specific tiers or classifications?”
Bai Yu pressed on with her questions. After all, a single attack wasn’t enough to discern Laika’s spiritual core.
It was even possible that the people here didn’t even have a concept of a spiritual core.
“It’s light! I can summon rays of light to attack, or I can infuse my weapons with it to enhance their power.”
Laika spoke with a touch of pride, clearly fond of her transcendent ability.
“As for improving strength, aren’t Transcendent abilities simply divided into four tiers?”
“Four?”
Ellie Roth frowned. This was a significant difference from their own system, and she had no clear reference point for what specific strength each tier might correspond to.
“That’s right! Transcendent abilities are divided into four stages: Novice, Elite, Master, and Saint!”
Laika declared this with a certain pride, as if she held immense confidence in herself.
“Uh, if you don’t mind me asking, Laika, which stage are you currently in?”
Bai Yu scratched her cheek, feeling as though the people here were all incredibly weak.
“I’m already an Elite!”
Laika confidently patted her rather well-developed chest as she spoke.
Then, she suddenly felt a bit too carried away.
The two individuals before her were clearly much stronger.
Bai Yu and Ellie Roth exchanged a glance, their eyes reflecting the same thought.
‘Could it be that the strongest person in this place only reaches Tier 4? That would be truly pathetic. Has being isolated from the world affected mystical powers so profoundly?’
“Haha, I see.”
Bai Yu chuckled awkwardly, scratching her head.
“By the way, do you have any ways to learn secret arts—uh, other forms of power, I mean? And how exactly do you increase your strength?”
Bai Yu’s mind raced, trying to articulate her questions clearly.
“Secret arts? What are those? We Transcendent beings all use our awakened powers as our form of attack. Some extraordinarily gifted individuals might later acquire even more powerful abilities based on that foundation!”
Laika stated earnestly.
She spoke with genuine conviction.
As for increasing strength, it was incredibly difficult. It required continuous practice and a deep understanding of the world, and only then might one break through in a single, sudden moment.
‘Isn’t that just relying entirely on luck?!’
Bai Yu stared at Laika in disbelief. They had no concept of ‘secret arts,’ ‘knowledge,’ ‘rituals,’ or ‘spirituality’; it was all based on instinct.
‘No wonder they can’t advance past the fourth tier.’
Under these circumstances, reaching Tier 4 would be incredibly lucky.
Bai Yu felt a little speechless.
“Alright, we understand the basics now. Please take us to your camp. This area is quite dangerous, and pursuers from the city might still be on their way.”
Bai Yu decided not to press for more information here. She had a general grasp of the local power levels, which gave her a sense of confidence.
Even with Ellie Roth’s Tier 5 strength, she could probably walk unchallenged through this place.
However, Bai Yu wouldn’t take unnecessary risks. What if the Church or the nobles possessed some hidden trump cards?
After all, Laika’s letter had mentioned ‘gods.’
Though she didn’t know the extent of this god’s power, the fact that they could create an ice wall to block their exit meant they were definitely stronger than them.
Therefore, Bai Yu wouldn’t lower her guard just because the people here seemed weak.
What if the god was deliberately suppressing the strength of the people here, precisely to prevent them from breaching that ice wall?
Bai Yu felt this was a very real possibility.
After all, the letter had also mentioned that the outsiders from beyond the wall who were teleported here were all low-tier Arcanists.
While she didn’t know why anyone would be sent here, it was highly probable that it was part of some divine conspiracy.
This time, however, for some unknown reason, Bai Yu and Ellie Roth, who clearly didn’t belong to this power tier, had been teleported here.
Perhaps their arrival was merely an accident, caused by the monster from the previous era that had inadvertently sent them here.
Bai Yu lowered her head in thought. She now had a general understanding of the situation, and Laika had been incredibly helpful.
‘Assuming she isn’t lying.’
However, Bai Yu didn’t believe Laika was capable of lying. The strength of these people was clearly evident; they didn’t seem like deceivers.
“Good! I’ll take you back to the camp right away!”
Laika was thrilled, amazed that the mission had been completed so easily.
The process itself had just been a little… humiliating.
Laika recalled her earlier state. Luckily, no one else had seen it, or her image would have been utterly ruined.
“What about these people? Should we wake them up?”
Ellie Roth asked from the side. After all, Laika hadn’t come alone.
The men and women lying on the ground were all members of Laika’s organization.
“Of course! Otherwise, it would be terrible if others found them. These people are the elite of our organization.”
Laika blushed slightly as she said this. To think that such ‘elites’ had been knocked out in an instant.
“But how should we wake them up? Did the two of you perhaps hit them a little too hard?”
Before Laika could finish speaking, Ellie Roth once again drew her Curse Seal Blade.
This startled Laika immensely.
She feared that something she had said had displeased Ellie Roth, prompting her to act without a word.
“Ellie Roth, please don’t be impulsive!”
“Don’t worry.”
Bai Yu patted Laika, reassuring her that Ellie Roth was merely trying to find a way to awaken the unconscious individuals.
