Join the Server‘Date?’
Chen Lin had indeed forgotten all about it.
Moreover, the Sunday movie was originally meant to make up for breaking the Saturday movie date.
But a new problem arose: he hadn’t actually broken the Saturday date. Hadn’t he already taken Yan to the aquarium?
By common sense, wouldn’t that cancel the Sunday movie invitation?
Yet now Yan stood outside his door, wearing new clothes he’d never seen before. Clearly, her attitude was that the date was still on.
“Didn’t we just go to the aquarium yesterday? Shouldn’t the movie today be canceled?” Chen Lin reminded her.
“How can that be the same? Yesterday there was a third party present. I wasn’t happy at all,” Yan said discontentedly.
“Really?” Chen Lin responded with a questioning tone.
He was very suspicious of Yan’s explanation. In some areas of the aquarium, she had seemed to be having a good time.
Immediately, malicious speculations about Yan flooded Chen Lin’s mind.
Could it be that Yan wasn’t actually trying to watch a movie with him, but looking for an opportunity to secretly kill him?
Chen Lin felt this possibility was very high.
Thinking carefully, the movie theater environment was truly perfect for an assassination. During the film, the entire screening hall would go dark. Except for the bright movie screen, everywhere else would be pitch black.
In such darkness, it would be hard to see anything at all. If Yan took out a weapon, he might not even notice.
Then, she could wait until he was completely absorbed in the exciting plot on screen, and attack when he least expected it. Succeeding would be very easy.
The more Chen Lin thought, the more cold sweat trickled down his back.
He also seemed to realize why he had survived last night unscathed. Yan must have found an easier way to strike, so she abandoned the riskier method.
A tactical genius!
A calm and rational killer!
Chen Lin’s fear of Yan grew with every passing moment.
To ensure his death, she had planned this far ahead. Come to think of it, the movie invitation was also proposed by Yan. Had she calculated everything from the very beginning?
“What’s wrong? Aren’t you going to let me in?” Yan looked at him strangely, seeing him frozen behind the ajar door for several minutes.
Yan’s reminder pulled Chen Lin back from his wild thoughts to reality.
When he looked at Yan again, perhaps because he was now wary and on guard, he no longer found her cute.
If he thought she was adorable and let his guard down around this little girl, he might be the one to suffer.
Seeing that Chen Lin still hadn’t responded, Yan reached out her left hand to push the door open, as if trying to enter the house.
Such a dangerous girl — he should block her at the door.
But rationality made Chen Lin extinguish the thought of closing the door. Instead, he opened it wide.
When Chen Lin openly opened the door, Yan seemed inexplicably scared.
Because just yesterday, right in this place, something had happened that made her heart race and face flush even now.
Ignoring her resistance, Chen Lin had dragged her into his bedroom and done embarrassing things to her.
He had seemed somewhat out of control then, and no matter how much she struggled, resisted, or shouted, she couldn’t stop his wandering hands.
Although it wasn’t that she disliked it, Yan hated such rude behavior from boys.
Moreover, she didn’t want Chen Lin to think she was some cheap woman who was easy to get.
“You won’t do anything reckless again, will you?” Yan retreated a step, guarding her body with both hands, appearing alert.
Seeing Yan’s reaction, Chen Lin instead thought that she might be hiding a weapon today, which was why she feared his search.
“Of course not.” Chen Lin didn’t rush to pressure her; he spoke gently.
Although he really wanted to pounce on Yan and thoroughly search her body, he had learned the word ‘patience’ from this tactical genius.
To achieve his goal, appropriate patience was necessary.
Since Yan knew to let his guard down before striking, Chen Lin would apply the same strategy. He deliberately said this to make her relax.
For the ultimate victory, Chen Lin instead extended his hand, inviting Yan into his living room.
“Big brother, don’t betray my trust,” Yan said shyly, but still entered the living room.
“Big brother, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?” Yan asked.
The answer was obvious, as Chen Lin had clearly just woken up, disheveled and unwashed.
Though some people eat breakfast without washing up, Chen Lin wasn’t one of them.
“Yes, I haven’t eaten yet,” Chen Lin replied.
“That’s great!” Yan immediately took a small cream cake from her bag. “This is breakfast for you.”
“Thanks, but I don’t like sweets for breakfast,” Chen Lin politely refused. He dared not eat anything Yan brought.
“I miscalculated. I didn’t investigate your preferences beforehand. So what snacks do you like for breakfast? I’ll go buy them,” Yan said.
“No need to trouble yourself,” Chen Lin rejected without thinking.
“It’s no trouble at all. While I go buy breakfast, you can freshen up. After we eat, we’ll head to the movies.”
Yan was full of energy this morning, her words vibrant. In contrast, Chen Lin looked sickly — after all, a sleepless night would drain anyone.
“Are we really going to the movies?” Chen Lin tried to think of a way to refuse.
“Are you going to break your promise?!” Yan seemed somewhat angry.
Chen Lin was silent for a moment. After some consideration, he decided to agree for now. “Alright, please buy me a meat bun from this place. I like that shop’s buns. The address is…”
