“It’s perfect!”
As soon as she soaked into the hot water, Na Naya felt like every cell in her body was cheering.
However, at that moment, a slightly panicked voice came from the opposite side of the bath pool: “Na Naya?”
“Eek!”
Without a doubt, the one soaking on the other side of the bath pool was none other than Miss Meng Linna.
At this moment, she was half-reclining against the edge of the bath pool, her head resting on the edge, with a towel placed over her eyes, looking like she was doing a hot compress.
She’d only thought to save on electricity by not turning on the lights for now, but it had led to this mishap.
“Sorry, I didn’t see you just now; I’ll head out right away!”
Though she felt a bit guilty and reluctant to leave the bath pool, Na Naya still stood up immediately.
“Eh, but didn’t you just get in the water?” Meng Linna had already calmed down by now. “If you leave like this and get hit by the wind, you’ll catch a cold, right? Why don’t you stay and soak together for a bit?”
“Eh, but…” Though she also wanted to convince herself to stay and continue soaking, looking at the woman in front of her who had assaulted her before, Na Naya still harbored some resentment in her heart.
As if reading Na Naya’s thoughts, Meng Linna spoke up: “It’s fine; I have a towel over my eyes right now, so I can’t see a thing. You don’t need to be shy.”
Indeed, looking at the thickness of the towel on Meng Linna’s face, she definitely couldn’t see anything.
But more than that, wasn’t the scumbag lady’s focus a bit off?
In this era where same-s*x marriages were common, even close girlfriends wouldn’t casually bare themselves to each other.
Though this meant she didn’t have to worry about her own body being seen by the scumbag lady, on the flip side, didn’t that mean the scumbag lady’s body was completely exposed to her?
Did this woman have absolutely no awareness of being taken advantage of?
“Since you’ve said that much…”
Whatever; she was already here, so Na Naya decided to follow her heart and soak properly.
Anyway, if anyone was at a disadvantage, it was that woman.
It was said that daughters of some wealthy families absolutely couldn’t let anyone see their bodies before marriage, and there were even rumors from time to time about noble heirs who, after accidentally being peeped on while bathing by a female rogue, had no choice but to marry them.
Meng Linna’s father was the empire’s greatest duke; if she looked like this, would it lead to…
She’d only wanted to soak in the bath to relax her mood, but somehow, she felt even more irritated now.
Na Naya couldn’t help but inwardly curse herself for being overly sensitive; though the other didn’t care about such things at all, as a saintess candidate, shouldn’t she consciously adhere to “do not look where it’s improper”?
After secretly resolving in her heart not to look, Na Naya decided to focus on soaking.
But some things were just like that; the more you tried to restrain yourself from thinking in that direction, the more your brain involuntarily drifted there.
The bath pool wasn’t that big to begin with, and Meng Linna was right across from her; turning her head away might seem too deliberate.
But once she gazed over, she’d involuntarily get immersed.
Perhaps sensing the atmosphere was a bit too quiet, Meng Linna, who was doing her hot compress, couldn’t help but speak first to start a conversation:
“Speaking of which, Na Naya really likes soaking in baths, huh? I’ve seen you using the bath pool these past few days.”
“That’s right,” there was nothing to deny about that, so Na Naya nodded. “I really like soaking in baths; I like the feeling of my body being enveloped by hot water, it’s like…”
“Like being held in a warm embrace, right?”
Before Na Naya could finish, Meng Linna jumped in with the answer.
Though that was exactly what she’d been thinking, hearing it from the scumbag lady’s mouth, especially combined with yesterday’s events, always gave a subtle feeling.
It was like she was mocking something.
“That’s right.”
Though she felt a bit resistant, Na Naya still chose to admit it.
“Everyone likes a warm embrace, don’t they? Maybe it’s because they want to seek that thing called ‘love’ in this cold and indifferent world?”
But the Meng Linna on the other side seemed to have no intention of mocking at all; instead, she just continued on her own.
But seeking “love” and all that—did that mean she was saying she was love-starved?
To avoid letting the other misunderstand anything unnecessary, Na Naya restrained herself and replied: “In this indifferent society, that’s probably true for everyone; people always say this society is too oppressive, but in the end, it’s just a lack of love, right?”
The Meng Linna across from her just softly went “Mm.”
It was about time for her to find a topic too; seeing Meng Linna seem to fall silent, Na Naya couldn’t help but ask: “What happened to your eyes? Why are you covering them with a towel?”
“You mean this,” Meng Linna pointed to the towel on her face. “I was just staring at the book the whole time while registering believers today, so I wanted to relax my eyes a bit. I just grabbed a towel for a hot compress.”
Na Naya asked curiously: “Does that really work?”
“Whether it works or not is debatable, but at least it feels pretty comfortable this way; I feel like my eyes are relaxing a bit.”
“How long have you been doing it for?”
“About twenty minutes, I guess.”
It was such a mundane daily conversation, like something two friends might casually chat about while taking a walk after dinner; for a moment, Na Naya couldn’t help but feel a bit puzzled.
She’d always thought she’d never forgive the woman across from her in this lifetime, no matter what, but now she could unexpectedly talk to her with a normal heart.
Adults don’t dwell on the past forever, Na Naya comforted herself inwardly; the past is the past, so for now, she’ll just get along with Meng Linna as ordinary friends.
If they were ordinary friends, giving a little well-intentioned reminder shouldn’t be overstepping, right?
In the end, Na Naya couldn’t hold back and asked: “By the way, aren’t you afraid of someone seeing you naked while you’re here with your eyes covered?”
Though they were both women, this particularly mature blonde bombshell completely lacked any awareness as a woman.
Soaking here all by herself, completely ignoring the surroundings—you could easily get peeped on by a bad woman.
Na Naya thought this as she couldn’t help but glance at the other’s chest twice.
“Eh, it should be fine, right?” Meng Linna clearly hadn’t thought of that. “There’s only me and Na Naya in this chapel; there shouldn’t be anyone else, right?”
I’m the “anyone else” you’re talking about!
Na Naya held back her tone and said in a low voice: “That’s true, but please consider my feelings a little too.”
