“But that’s not good.”
“There’s nothing wrong with it.”
Nanaya reached out and wrapped her arms around Menglinna’s waist, effectively blocking any retreat.
With no way to escape, Menglinna simply closed her eyes.
Nanaya wouldn’t do anything to her… probably.
Just as she tried to rest and relax, Nanaya’s voice came from beside her ear: “Speaking of which, didn’t we used to sleep together like this all the time?”
Menglinna thought for a moment, then opened her eyes and replied, “That was a long time ago, wasn’t it?”
But when she opened her eyes again, she realized the distance between them had silently closed, and she met Nanaya’s gaze.
“Not that long ago—just a year. Who would have thought so much would change in just one year?”
A smile appeared on Nanaya’s face, as if she were reminiscing about that time.
“…”
Menglinna didn’t respond. Her magic power was slowly recovering, and she had temporarily exited energy-saving mode. Her brain was functioning normally again.
Although she missed the innocent, adorable little Nanaya who she could tease however she wanted, bringing up the topic now would inevitably lead to her own betrayal.
Avoiding topics unfavorable to herself—that was Menglinna’s philosophy.
But even if she didn’t want to talk about it, it didn’t stop Nanaya from bringing it up: “So, can you explain why you did those things to me, big sister?”
“I already told you my reasons, didn’t I? To escape the monastery, this was my only option…”
Menglinna’s voice grew quieter, knowing full well she was in the wrong.
“That’s not what I mean,” Nanaya suddenly grabbed her finger, forcing Menglinna to look at the suspect in front of her. “I’m asking you, that big sister who used to tell dirty jokes and liked to get close to me—why did she do those things?”
Even before deciding to bully Nanaya to escape the monastery, Menglinna had done some slightly over-the-line things to her. By normal standards, maybe she had already crossed the bottom line between seniors and juniors.
“Well…”
Menglinna was stuck. If she had to say it, she just liked Nanaya’s appearance.
Because her junior was good-looking, she couldn’t resist teasing her and using her senior status to get close. How could she possibly say that?
The inability to answer was itself an answer. Nanaya stared into her eyes clearly. “I see. So you’ve been wanting to do those things to me for a long time?”
“No…”
Not only was her voice trembling, but her whole body shook. There was no conviction in her denial.
“Naughty,” Nanaya reached out and mercilessly pinched Menglinna’s cheek. “Even now, you’re still thinking about lying? Liar sister?”
“Is that how you see me? A liar?”
“Tsk.”
Faced with Menglinna’s stubborn attempts to weasel out even now, Nanaya lost patience and leaned in to bite her lips.
“Mm!”
The overbearing kiss left Menglinna speechless. All she could manage was a vague nasal sound of weak resistance.
Her feeble struggle only seemed like a token refusal, and Nanaya took it as such, growing even more dominant.
As for what happened next, don’t ask.
Menglinna felt her movements. Unwilling to give in, she tried to push her away. But Menglinna was physically weak—she couldn’t compare to Nanaya, who could lift a giant-crushing hammer, especially when she had exhausted her magic.
The mental fatigue from magic depletion made Menglinna want to give up. She was outmatched both physically and mentally.
In fact, the outcome of her resistance was predetermined, and she knew it. But she had to go through the motions anyway.
Completely unable to push Nanaya away, Menglinna’s hands only weakly patted her shoulders. From an outsider’s perspective, it didn’t look like resistance at all—more like a subtle invitation to continue.
It was said that the essence of magic was similar to a solute, except it dissolved easily in humans. It could be extracted, but with difficulty.
And now, magic was flowing from a high-concentration area to a low-concentration one.
The increase in magic cleared Menglinna’s thoughts a little. With some regained strength, she took the chance to suddenly push Nanaya away.
Though her body had recovered some magic, Menglinna stubbornly scooted back a bit, putting some distance between them.
“Why did you do that?”
Faced with Menglinna’s accusation, Nanaya replied nonchalantly, “Do what?”
“Th-that kiss!” Menglinna’s face was bright red, and she nearly choked on her own saliva. “That was my first kiss!”
Even in her past life, she had never given away her first kiss, and now it was stolen like this. Menglinna felt her future was bleak.
She was now secondhand goods!
Nanaya just chuckled mockingly. “Since when did you have a first kiss?”
“What are you talking about? Of course I had one!”
Nanaya didn’t respond, just stared at her.
Menglinna grew more uneasy and turned the question around: “What about you? Did you…”
Before she could finish, Nanaya interrupted directly: “No. My first kiss was taken by someone half a year ago.”
“Who?”
Nanaya didn’t answer, just looked at her in silence.
In that complicated gaze, Menglinna found the answer. “Ha? You mean me? No way—did I do something like that?”
“Want me to help you remember? It was during morning prayer once…”
“Stop, stop!” Menglinna hastily cut her off. “I probably know what you’re talking about, but that was just a sisterly good-morning kiss. It had nothing to do with love, so it doesn’t count as a first kiss!”
Nanaya stared into her eyes for a long time before letting out a soft sigh. “You really are a player, big sister. Saying things like that—maybe you’ve already fooled around with plenty of cute junior nuns?”
Watching Nanaya get closer, Menglinna felt a sudden surge of fear. “But you’re my only junior!”
“Then you should take even more responsibility.”
“I told you, it’s not love!”
Having already moved to the edge of the bed, Menglinna flipped off the bed, slipped on her shoes, and dashed out before Nanaya could react.
Nanaya was definitely off today!
Nanaya didn’t chase after her. She savored the taste on her lips and murmured softly, “This is clearly love.”
