Join the ServerMenglinna opened her eyes long before the sun had fully risen.
Honestly, although she had slept on the sofa, the cushioning made it feel no different from her own bed. She wasn’t picky about where she slept—even if the comfort level was a bit lacking, it didn’t matter.
Wait, when had she fallen asleep yesterday?
Staring at the unfamiliar ceiling, Menglinna began recalling the events of the previous night. She had been flipping through the bestiary while occasionally chatting with Nanaya, but at some point during their conversation, she had simply dozed off.
Come to think of it, she had claimed she wanted to share a room with Nanaya out of fear of wild animals, but in reality, she hadn’t taken any precautions against them.
That’s right—she had come here for Nanaya!
Menglinna turned her head. By the desk, there was only an empty chair, while Nanaya herself was already fast asleep in bed.
Through the faint morning light filtering in through the window, Menglinna could vaguely see Nanaya’s clothes hanging on the headboard. That probably proved she was sleeping in bed, right?
Maybe she could go check if the other had the Flame Evil God’s mark on her body right now?
Menglinna quietly turned over and got up, walking to the side of Nanaya’s bed.
The steady breathing from the bed reassured her somewhat—Nanaya was indeed still asleep.
But the problem now was the pitiful barrier between them: that damned mosquito net.
If she forcefully lifted it, Nanaya might notice, right?
Thinking this, Menglinna’s outstretched hand fell limply.
After all, this was too difficult. Maybe she could deliberately let Nanaya get hurt when they took on a commission outside, then examine her body under the pretext of treatment?
For just a moment, Menglinna rejected that somewhat unscrupulous idea.
There had to be a better way to confirm it, right?
Menglinna thought it over, and finally, the bath incident from before gave her inspiration.
She would barge in when Nanaya was bathing later, just like the other had barged in on her. That way, she could examine her thoroughly, and Nanaya would definitely be off guard.
Tentatively setting this new plan in her mind, Menglinna relaxed a bit.
Since she didn’t need to act now, that was fine.
Menglinna walked to the window and began her morning prayer facing the sun.
This was a habit she had developed in her previous life. Although praying at dawn was a daily routine for a believer, few actually persisted. She did it simply because she was used to it.
Feeling the presence leave her bedside, Nanaya finally breathed a sigh of relief.
From the moment Menglinna stood by her bed, blocking the morning sunlight, Nanaya had woken up. She had been pretending to sleep just to see what that scumbag miss wanted to do.
The other had reached out but then lowered her hand, as if hesitating about something, and finally went to the window to start her morning prayer.
Frankly, Menglinna’s devotion to the goddess surprised even Nanaya, a saint candidate. Not only could she recite scriptures and classics off the top of her head, but she could also attract the goddess’s attention. Maybe she was more suited to the role of saint than Nanaya herself?
Somewhat irritably, Nanaya turned over, and the person by the window stopped praying.
“Sorry, did I wake you?”
“No,” Nanaya turned over and sat up, pulling open the mosquito net. “On the contrary, you reminded me. I should do my morning prayer too. As a saint candidate, I can’t be too lazy.”

In the adventurer’s hall, after finishing their morning prayers, the nun duo reunited with the other two and planned to go check today’s commissions. Based on yesterday’s experience, they would likely lean toward more conservative choices.
But before that, Miaomiaonia stopped them. “Ah, come over here first!”
Menglinna’s expression turned sour. Getting called over before she had even found anything, who knew what that dead keycap wanted? If they wasted too much time, they might miss the good commissions.
Though somewhat dissatisfied, Miaomiaonia was the receptionist of the guild, so they couldn’t say much. They followed her into a meeting room.
Miaomiaonia carefully closed the door to the meeting room, then slowly looked at them. “You haven’t accepted any commissions yet today, right?”
“Of course not,” Menglinna replied unhappily. “Thanks to someone, we’re rotting in this meeting room during peak commission hours.”
“What resentment,” Miaomiaonia wiped the sweat from her forehead and turned on the air conditioner. “Since you haven’t taken any commissions, that makes things easier. Meow here has an awesome commission!”
“Let’s hear it?”
Unexpected that the dead keycap would deliberately reserve a commission for them. Menglinna recalled the geological survey quest she had given her before. Although she had been tricked in a way, the quest itself had been fine.
But Miaomiaonia didn’t rush to introduce the commission. Instead, she first took out four sheets of paper and handed them out. “The reason I’m coming to you is that I believe you can be trusted. But no matter how much I trust you, we still have to go through the proper procedures. I hope you’ll sign this confidentiality agreement, meow.”
“Confidentiality agreement?” Nanaya frowned. If they had to sign such an agreement, this matter probably wasn’t simple.
Miaomiaonia met Nanaya’s gaze without any sign of guilt. “After you sign, I’ll explain the specifics. Of course, you can still choose not to take the commission. The only requirement is that you don’t repeat what you hear in this room.”
The others looked at Menglinna.
As the team leader, Menglinna quickly skimmed the agreement. The content seemed fine—it just forbade them from disclosing what was discussed in the meeting room. The only issue was the severe penalties for leaking: fines, expulsion from the adventurer’s guild, and prosecution for endangering public safety.
“The agreement is fine. Although the penalties are heavy, the corresponding commission must be important too,” Menglinna signed her name. “Let me at least hear what the commission is before deciding.”
