“But wouldn’t a simple healing divine spell be enough for that?”
Facing the man who wanted a purification ritual, Na Naya on the side was a bit displeased.
Purification rituals weren’t simple to perform either, and there was no need to go to such lengths for this.
If possible, she didn’t want to do the purification ritual.
“But… forget it,” the man nodded resignedly.
“Then please cast a healing divine spell for me.”
“Then please follow me.”
Seeing that the man didn’t seem to have much of an issue, Meng Linna naturally didn’t take the matter too seriously.
She just had him sit on the bench nearby, took out the holy bell, and prepared to cast the spell.
“Please roll up your sleeve so I can see the wound.”
Following Meng Linna’s instructions, the man rolled up his long sleeve, revealing the wound beneath.
It was some kind of bite mark, looking like he’d been bitten by a person.
Weren’t the monsters in that ruin mostly water-attribute?
Meng Linna thought it over in her mind.
Upon closer inspection, this bite mark didn’t seem like something the monsters there could have caused.
But she didn’t think too much about it.
She simply raised the holy bell and chanted a segment of divine spell.
Work was just work, but eating was the most important.

Adventuring days.
“Even though it’s only been three days of rest, it feels like it’s been a long time since we went adventuring together.”
In the guild hall, Stone Fang, as the shield warrior, was stretching her body.
The chapel work wasn’t heavy; it could even be said to be very relaxed.
For adventurers, believing was just something they did in passing; in the short term, no fanatical believers had appeared.
Their daily work was more like putting on a front for the chapel.
“It does seem like a long time.”
Meng Linna agreed a bit, then tore off a commission slip.
Just the day before yesterday, the ruin whose leader she’d already subjugated had completely disappeared.
Yanan now had no new ruins, so the four-person team could only compete with others for commissions.
Having selected the commission, Meng Linna walked to the front desk, intending to verify it a bit with Miao Miao Niya.
But at this time, most people were still picking commissions, and Miao Miao Niya clearly wasn’t busy, sitting there watching the morning news on TV.
“Shocking! Just yesterday, the urban legend that’s circulated in Yanan for many years became reality; our city’s criminal police were dispatched urgently, defeating a man-eating beast, with further investigations ongoing.”
It was hard to imagine such an obviously fake thing appearing on Yanan’s morning news.
And seeing Miao Miao Niya’s serious expression, maybe she really believed it.
Meng Linna placed the commission slip on the table and couldn’t help but look curiously at Miao Miao Niya.
“You really believe this stuff? It feels so obviously made up.”
“What do you know; this is an official announcement from the police,” Miao Miao Niya said seriously.
“This definitely isn’t made up.”
Meng Linna was too lazy to argue further with her and just countered.
“Is this stuff common?”
“Hard to say,” Miao Miao Niya glanced at the newspaper.
“The news released now is that this thing seems to be multiplying continuously; they seem to be hiding in the city, so the police have been busy checking for these things lately.”
With that, she looked at the commission on the table.
“But speaking of which, if this gets out of hand, maybe the police will put out a hunting commission to our Adventurer’s Guild.”
“Hunting this thing?” Looking at the monster on TV, Meng Linna was a bit surprised.
These monsters that looked half again as big as a human were clearly not easy to deal with.
Thick thighs meant agile movement, and a beastly body meant huge destructive power—this was hunting in the city?
Whether they could win or not was one thing, but damaging the city would mean compensation bankruptcy, right?
Miao Miao Niya pursed her lips.
“It’s not set in stone yet.”
Meng Linna didn’t dwell on it.
“We’ll talk about it when it happens.”

This commission was to subjugate a goblin outpost in the wilds; it was said to be beasts that had strayed out during some ruin descent.
Because they hadn’t developed quickly, the guild hadn’t noticed; by the time they did, the goblins had already grown to tribal scale.
“They’ve even built an outpost.”
Suddenly, a goblin outpost rising in the forest outside Yanan—if these goblins only occasionally came out to rob, perhaps no one would care.
But building an outpost like this changed the nature entirely.
Turning from wandering monsters into a civilized tribe—no one would tolerate that.
From a distance, there were probably forty or fifty goblins in the outpost, maybe some out hunting.
Kelly jumped down from the treetop.
“Judging by the outpost scale, this place can hold around fifty to sixty goblins.”
So about ten were out, huh?
Meng Linna extended her gaze.
When the goblins built the outpost, they’d used local materials, both the outer walls and inner houses made of wood.
The commission the team took this time was to eliminate the goblin outpost in the forest.
So strictly speaking, even if they didn’t kill a single goblin, it would be fine as long as they destroyed the outpost.
As for how to destroy the outpost, the simplest way was to just set it ablaze.
Everyone knew this; the three gathered around Meng Linna, eyes on her.
“How should we do it?”
For this commission, Meng Linna had her own considerations.
Though burning the outpost to the ground with one fire was the simplest, if they didn’t clear the goblins, they’d just come back.
If the guild’s verification personnel saw a rebuilt goblin outpost, losing the bounty was minor; getting put on the dishonest adventurer list would be trouble.
Moreover, though goblins were weak, they were intelligent beings.
If not exterminated or subdued, they might hold grudges, and with such a large group, they might surprise the team with a super ambush sometime.
Not to mention the extra bounty for hunting goblins, which naturally encouraged clearing them.
After thinking for a bit, Meng Linna slowly spoke.
“If possible, I want to block all these goblins in, best to eliminate them all inside the outpost.”
The others had no objections to this decision; after all, the bounty for killing goblins was a bit higher than usual.
Meng Linna outlined her rough battle plan.
“We could first kill the goblins inside, then wait like sitting by a stump for hares; once the hunting ones return, set a fire and deal with them and the outpost all at once.”
