Join the ServerAfter returning to the church, Nanaya instinctively walked toward her room.
The battle just now hadn’t been intense, but she still needed to clean up a bit.
“Hold on a moment!” Menglinna called out to her. “There’s something I want to talk to you about. Something important.”
A flicker of surprise crossed Nanaya’s eyes, but she nodded calmly. “Come to my room and we can talk.”
Without overthinking, Menglinna followed Nanaya into her room. Having slept here for several days now, she was quite familiar with Nanaya’s space. Without waiting for an invitation, she sat down on the sofa she usually slept on.
Nanaya glanced at her but said nothing, simply placing her tactical belt on a nearby rack.
“So, what did you want to talk about?”
Sitting at the table, facing its empty surface, Nanaya felt her nerves settle slightly.
“It’s about you lately,” Menglinna began hesitantly. “To be honest, I’m a bit worried about you.”
“Worried about me?” Nanaya felt a surge of gratitude. “Thanks for your concern.”
Watching Nanaya’s back, Menglinna breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Not having to face her directly might make this easier to say.
Without further preamble, Menglinna cut straight to the point. “Um, has the system been forcing you to do things lately?”
No试探, no build-up—Menglinna chose to confront the issue head-on.
“Huh?” Nanaya turned to look into Menglinna’s eyes. “What are you talking about?”
“Since I’ve already started, there’s no turning back,” Menglinna said, deciding to voice her thoughts decisively. “You know, the kind where if you don’t do the system’s tasks, it’ll ruin your family or something? Have you been forced into doing… those kinds of things against your will lately?”
Nanaya shook her head. “Have I done something that angered everyone? Why would you suddenly say that?”
Faced with Menglinna’s wild imagination, Nanaya only felt confused.
Of course she had a system, but it was far too laid-back. No task guidance, no hints. If it weren’t for the daily check-in that gave points, the system would have been obsolete by now.
Because Nanaya hadn’t directly answered her question, Menglinna assumed it was indeed the system’s oppression. So she continued, “Look, Nanaya, you should at least be mindful of your target. I know the system might force you to do things you don’t want, but shouldn’t you at least do those things with someone you actually like?”
“Those things?”
Nanaya tilted her head slightly, as if asking what Menglinna meant.
“You… you know what I mean… Could you stop thinking about… sneaking into my bed again, or secretly following me? I get that maybe you have no choice because of the system, but that kind of ambiguous behavior is really something you’d only do with someone close, right?”
So that’s it—the girl thought those previous over-the-top actions were system tasks. Nanaya lowered her gaze, a new plan brewing in her mind.
“So, do you understand?” Seeing Nanaya’s head droop, Menglinna wondered if she was even listening.
“Please, don’t do those things to me anymore!”
“Ah, well, you said it yourself—there’s no way around it,” Nanaya spread her arms. “If the system demands it, I really can’t refuse.”
Menglinna shook her head. “Then don’t focus all of it on me! Why don’t you find a girlfriend, or at least a f*ck buddy? Just stop harassing me every day.”
“That won’t work,” Nanaya crossed her arms in an X. “The system specifically targets you.”
“Huh? Me?”
Menglinna was stunned.
“Yeah, it’s like it has to be you,” Nanaya clasped her hands together. “Today’s task is to see your panties, or the system will blow me to bits.”
“No way?” Menglinna fell into confusion.
Was there really a system that would actively kill its host?
“Without a doubt,” Nanaya stepped forward and grabbed Menglinna’s hands. “You don’t want both of us to be blown up by the system inside me, do you?”
“Ah, I’d get blown up too?” The cowardly lady tensed up instantly. “But… that kind of thing…”
Seeing Menglinna still hesitating, Nanaya couldn’t help but get stern. “Menglinna, I order you to take off your skirt and show me now. I know it’s hard, but this is an order!”
“Ha!”
Clearly, the cowardly lady was someone who responded better to softness than hardness. Faced with Nanaya’s threat, Menglinna snapped back to her senses. “Hey, you’re definitely making this up, aren’t you?”
With the words out, Nanaya had no way back. She put on a serious face. “What I said just now might have been a bit much, but this is exactly what’s happening. The only difference is whether you do it willingly or I do it. The result won’t change.”
“What do you mean, ‘the result won’t change’?”
Menglinna unconsciously took a step back.
“Exactly what it sounds like,” Nanaya stood up and advanced toward her. “I will see your panties today. That’s the result.”
With that, she let her gaze drift down to Menglinna’s legs.
Considering there might be a tough battle today, Menglinna had worn high-top sneakers with knee-high socks and a pleated skirt that just brushed her knees. If Nanaya forced her way now, she could easily lift it and see what was underneath.
But if possible, Nanaya really wanted to see Menglinna lift it herself. That reluctant, bashful expression—just thinking about it was thrilling!
“You’ve really lost your mind, haven’t you?”
Menglinna stepped back, but from Nanaya’s eyes, she seemed to see some kind of demon.
“No!”
Nanaya shook her head firmly, then looked at Menglinna. “So you’re still unwilling to cooperate?”
“Bastard,” Menglinna’s face flushed crimson. “How could I possibly cooperate with something like this!”
“In that case, don’t blame me for being rude…”
Nanaya suddenly raised the holy emblem in her hand, approaching Menglinna with a sinister grin.
“What are you doing?”
“Doing what I have to do.”
As a saint candidate, Nanaya was undoubtedly talented in using divine arts. Without any audible prayer, the holy emblem in her hand began to glow, and a faint bolt of lightning struck Menglinna’s arm.
It didn’t hurt much—the shock was more of a warning.
“If you don’t behave, don’t blame me for frying you and then peeling you open to see!”
Nanaya held the holy emblem high, making her threat very clear.
“Guh… Under these circumstances, I have no choice but to yield,” Menglinna said. “You’ve definitely learned some bad habits from somewhere, even threatening people like this.”
“Thanks, you’ve always been my role model,” Nanaya smiled. “So hurry up. It’ll be better for both of us, right?”
At this point, Menglinna could only blame herself. If she hadn’t chosen to confront Nanaya, maybe this wouldn’t have happened.
But regret came too late. Watching the holy emblem slowly accumulate magic power, Menglinna knew Nanaya wasn’t joking. If she didn’t act, she’d get electrocuted.
Just showing panties wasn’t that big a deal, right?
Struggling with herself, Menglinna slowly reached for her skirt.
What color would be under the white pleated skirt?
Though it had started as a whim, Nanaya was now genuinely curious about the answer.
Meanwhile, steam was practically rising from Menglinna’s head.
If it really was as Nanaya said, and she was being forced by the system, then she was also a victim. So why did the expression on her face look so eager?
Menglinna could almost hear her teeth chattering from nervousness. She turned her gaze to the bookshelf, as if not looking at the audience would make it easier.
The skirt slowly lifted. Today’s answer was… pink!
“Heh, unexpectedly girly! I thought it’d be black lace.”
Not satisfied with just seeing, Nanaya couldn’t resist a comment.
But that reminded Menglinna. Since the task was done, she immediately let the skirt fall.
“Hey, don’t you think that’s enough? I did what you asked, and you still have to say that!”
Suppressing her shame at being exposed, Menglinna glared at the culprit.
“I’m really sorry!”
Nanaya knew she was in the wrong and immediately chose to grovel.
Menglinna stared at her for a moment, then sighed helplessly. “You know, you really should find a girlfriend.”
“What?”
Caught off guard by the suggestion, Nanaya didn’t react at first.
Menglinna said indignantly, “I mean it. With your perverted nature and that perverted system, you’d be safer with a girlfriend. At least next time there’s a task like this, it won’t fall on me.”
Looking at the visibly angry Menglinna with her arms crossed, Nanaya’s mind went blank and she blurted out, “Then how about you be my girlfriend?”
“Ha? What did you say?”
Menglinna’s eyes flew wide open in disbelief.
“Nothing,” Nanaya waved her hand, putting on a nonchalant expression. “I was just joking to see your reaction. Didn’t expect you to take it so seriously.”
“It’s your fault for making a joke like that! It’s not funny at all!”
“Then I won’t make that joke anymore.”
…
Walking out of Nanaya’s room, Menglinna fell into deep self-doubt.
She had confronted Nanaya as planned, but the outcome was far from ideal. Her thoughts hadn’t gotten through at all; instead, she had given Nanaya a free show, and might even have to give more in the future.
What was all this about?
That pure nun Nanaya was long dead. Now, possessing her soul was a despicable female pervert.
Muttering to herself, Menglinna threw herself onto her bed.
Today was exhausting. She’d better rest for now.
…
That evening, Menglinna was about to turn off the lights and sleep, but as soon as she lay down, she found a pillow on her bed that she wasn’t supposed to be familiar with.
She looked toward the door. Nanaya was walking in with her own blanket.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
After what happened during the day, Menglinna couldn’t trust this saint candidate anymore.
But Nanaya’s expression was calm. “Like I said before, there are wild animals around, so we’d better sleep in the same room.”
That was true. They had been sharing a room for a while now, and Menglinna was used to Nanaya’s schedule.
But the problem was, before this, one slept on the sofa and the other on the bed. Judging from Nanaya’s behavior today, she seemed to be aiming for sharing the bed.
Menglinna wasn’t fooled. She eyed Nanaya warily. “That’s true, but why is your pillow on my bed?”
“No choice. Your place is too messy. The sofa is completely unusable.”
Menglinna glanced at the sofa in her room. Indeed, it was piled high with her notes and alchemical ingredients. Sleeping on it would be difficult.
“Fine, I’ll go sleep in your room then.”
With a sigh, Menglinna picked up her blanket and pillow.

As a cardinal, Jijige was entrusted for the first time with establishing and running a church from scratch. But since the strategy to develop church influence in Yanan was her proposal, naturally the difficult task ended up on her shoulders.
Objectively speaking, though, this arrangement was quite challenging for Jijige. She had no experience running a church, and Yanan’s faith was weak.
In a word, the place was a giant cesspool.
Still, Jijige had brought back many veterans from the central headquarters. Even if she were an idiot, the team could manage the church well.
