Join the ServerShihan bit her lower lip. She felt resentment toward Chen Lin for making such an unacceptable demand.
But she also resented herself for being too weak.
Fear of being abandoned by Chen Lin left her unable to tell him what she really thought.
She had given in completely. She had thought she would be stronger.
Sharing someone she loved with another person had seemed impossible before.
But now that she had chosen to submit, deep down she felt not only no frustration, but a hint of happiness.
Because if she gave in, she could enjoy being loved by Chen Lin. He had promised to love them equally.
Feeling happy about her own surrender made her feel even more humiliated. Her resentment toward Chen Lin grew deeper.
Shihan was still thinking about how to answer when Yan threw herself into Chen Lin’s arms and started crying loudly.
Chen Lin’s heart raced. When Yan cried, he panicked. He was terrified.
Because it meant her mental state was unstable, and she needed tears to calm down.
He grew uneasy. Had his nonsense pushed Yan over the edge? Was she about to pull out a knife and stab him?
Even though he had died three times already, facing death still made his blood run cold.
He didn’t want to die. And if he died this time and went back to an earlier point, what would he do? Was he trapped in a dead end?
He had sensed it before. The “death reset” curse the demon gave him wasn’t invincible.
If he fell into a dead end, like an undead being sunk into the deep sea, only endless cycles of torment awaited him.
Die and revive, revive and die.
Just as Chen Lin’s face went pale with fear, Yan suddenly stopped crying. She sobbed softly against his chest. “I really can’t accept it. Why do I have to share Big Brother with someone else…”
Those words made Chen Lin’s sense of danger deepen. He instinctively shrank back. He kept an eye on the hem of her skirt. He remembered she had a dagger strapped to her thigh.
But no dangerous move came. Yan continued, “…but I’m so afraid of losing Big Brother. So you have to keep your word and love us equally.
If you keep your promise this time, I can endure this for you.”
After saying that, she hugged him tightly, like a rope. She squeezed so hard that Chen Lin felt his lungs pressed and had trouble breathing.
Seeing Yan take the lead, Shihan felt thrown off. She quickly sat beside Chen Lin, grabbed his arm, and rested her head on his shoulder.
Chen Lin wasn’t as afraid of Shihan as he was of Yan. Maybe because during his last death experience, she had been reluctant to kill him.
If he hadn’t pushed her and made her angry enough to stab him, she probably would have taken him to the hospital.
So when Shihan grabbed his arm, Chen Lin asked gently, “What’s your answer?”
“…I… I… I agree.” After a long hesitation, Shihan gave him her answer.
Chen Lin couldn’t believe it. This dangerous situation had been resolved just by his nonsense. It looked like he might get home safely.
But he quickly shook his head. Now wasn’t the time to relax.
His hands were still tied behind his back. He was still bound. Until he was completely free, he couldn’t let his guard down.
He needed to stay alert.
“My wrists hurt. Can you untie me?” he asked Shihan.
Maybe because he thought Shihan was more considerate, he didn’t ask Yan. He thought Yan was too willful.
Shihan nodded and let go of his arm to untie him. But Yan came around behind him first and untied the rope herself.
Yan seemed jealous. Chen Lin had asked Shihan, not her.
Was she worse than Shihan? She could handle a simple thing like this.
“Big Brother, I untied you~” She rubbed against him like a cat, as if asking for praise.
Chen Lin felt like a mouse being licked by a cat. He didn’t dare move. His body stiffened.
“Thanks,” he said.
Shihan was furious. She should have been the one getting thanks. She pulled Yan away from Chen Lin and scolded her. “You heard me, right? I was the one he asked to untie him. Don’t act on your own.”
Yan didn’t care at all. She even answered smugly, “If some people are too slow, they can’t blame others for being beaten to it.
Big Brother was uncomfortable tied up. I couldn’t stand to watch.”
Chen Lin wanted to retort. If you knew it was uncomfortable, why didn’t you untie me earlier?
If he hadn’t said anything, he saw no sign of her “not bearing to watch.”
He moved his wrists. His shoulders and wrists felt much better. Having his hands tied behind his back for so long made his shoulders ache the most.
He rotated his shoulders to stretch his muscles. It felt nice.
Chen Lin stood up and looked at the door. “Well, since there’s nothing else, I’ll head home.”
Better to escape while he could. Now that he was untied, he planned to slip away.
Get out of this place first, then think of other ways to cut ties with Shihan and Yan.
But the moment he took a step toward the door, he felt two hands grab his back.
One was Yan’s. The other was Shihan’s. They both stood behind him, staring at him with unfriendly eyes.
