Chapter 108 : God’s Perspective

“Stacy?”

No, it wasn’t her.

In her daze, she seemed to have opened her eyes. A blurred figure appeared in her vision, long golden hair brushing against her cheek, violet eyes glowing faintly in the darkness. Milly’s heart clenched, the drowsiness instantly dissipating.

The moment she thought it was Stacy, she almost jumped up and scrambled away. But she held back, not making a sound.

In Lillian’s eyes, she should still be fast asleep. She just had to relax and maintain the act.

She had considered the possibility, and thought the most likely answer was that woman. But now, seeing that it was Lillian who came every night, she was surprised and a little confused.

She had no connection with Lillian. They had only met twice before she was imprisoned. Once at Tifna’s house, where they hadn’t even spoken, and once in the fortress, where she had threatened her.

As a Saintess, she had no motive to do this. She was a human Saintess. If she was discovered secretly caring for a demon, she would be stripped of her title, maybe even burned at the stake as a witch.

Why was she helping her?

Perhaps because she had just seen Lillian’s face, a few lines of text appeared in her mind, even though her eyes were closed.

[Lillian, Saintess of the Holy Radiance Church]
[Status: ???]
[Items: Water Bag x2, Wool Blanket x1]
[Spells Used: Healing, Bloodforge Eyes]

The format was different from the others. And it confirmed that the blanket had been brought by Lillian. Every night, she would come, heal the wounds from the holy water, and use that Bloodforge Eyes spell. That must be the magic to heal her eyes.

A strange spell name. The next moment, as if a real-time annotation had appeared, a few lines of explanatory text appeared after the words “Bloodforge Eyes.”

Reading the text, Milly instantly understood the principle. It used blood crystals to reconstruct and heal.

A rather unorthodox healing method. But it must have been very painful, as it involved destroying and then rebuilding. Yet, she had felt no pain when Lillian healed her. Had she been sleeping that soundly?

Or had the pain been transferred to someone else?

Lillian’s status was marked with question marks. She didn’t know what the problem was, but there was definitely a problem.

Was the current Lillian really Lillian?

She felt a hand gently brush the stray hairs from her forehead.

A finger traced her forehead. As it moved, Milly felt something appear on her forehead.

Ugh… her body suddenly went weak, as if all her strength had been drained.

Was it the old fool’s seal? Milly tried to move her magic, but it was as if it were bound by invisible chains, unable to flow.

It was definitely his doing. She could vaguely see a golden rune, emitting tiny golden particles, like chains that extended deep into her mind.

If she could break that golden rune, the seal should be broken.

Lillian’s finger was repelled the moment it touched the rune. She tried to break it, but failed several times. Strangely, Lillian’s figure appeared clearly in her mind. She could see her every move, as if her eyes were open.

After several failed attempts, Lillian released her finger.

Milly saw her take out the blanket, gently lift her and place her on it, tuck her in, and then gaze at her sleeping face.

Had she been discovered?

“Good night, Milly.”

Phew… she was just saying good night.

Lillian stood up and left the cell. Watching her go, until she disappeared, Milly finally opened her eyes.

Wait?

She suddenly realized something was wrong.

From the moment she had seen Lillian’s face, she had never opened her eyes. So how had she seen her so clearly?

What had just happened wasn’t a dream. Lillian had really come into her cell and done those things.

And the golden rune on her forehead, how had she “seen” it? She could even remember its shape, and the chains of light that extended into her mind. It was as if she had seen it all from a third-person perspective.

Besides the appraisal skill, had her rebuilt eyes unlocked other abilities?

She closed her eyes. If so, she might be able to see her own body.

At first, it was dark. But as she concentrated, the darkness gradually cleared. Her perspective was strangely floating at the ceiling, looking down at herself, wrapped in a blanket.

She could clearly see the white-haired girl with her eyes closed, every strand of hair visible.

What was happening?

She opened her eyes. Her vision returned to normal. She saw her two pale hands and the blanket wrapped around her.

God’s perspective?

The description was apt. With her eyes closed, she could see herself from a third-person perspective. The range seemed to be limited to the inside of the cell.

She had just willed to see herself. What if she willed to see the entire dungeon?

She closed her eyes. A sharp pain in her eyes. Was it too much?

Just as she was about to give up, a three-dimensional map of the entire dungeon appeared in her mind.

She gasped. She “saw” that she was in the deepest part of the dungeon. Besides her, it was empty. The only guard was the one who had passed out. She didn’t know how many were outside.

Could she expand the range?

She tried. The pain in her eyes made her stop.

The entire dungeon was her limit for now. If she pushed it, her newly healed eyes might be damaged again.

Even with her eyes open, the map was still in her mind.

Besides her level, it also showed the structure below. Though only a part, it looked like there were tunnels.

An abandoned drainage system?

She wanted to investigate further, but the pain in her eyes returned. She had to rest.

If there were tunnels, she could escape through them. She just had to break through the floor. The noise would be loud. Before that, she had to make sure the guard outside wouldn’t wake up.

She got out of the blanket and kicked the iron bars.
