Chapter 145 : Isn’t This Shady?

The beast’s green eyes were filled with disbelief. It couldn’t comprehend how it had been pierced.

Its tough scales, usually impenetrable, were like paper before the black tentacle, offering no resistance.

No… this was wrong. It was the predator. The small figure before it should have been torn to pieces, a delicious meal.

It was only pierced. It could still escape. It could turn into a shadow and slip away. The wound wouldn’t heal, but if it ate Milly, if it devoured her flesh and blood, it would recover.

If only it could…

Suddenly, its body stiffened. Then, it began to shrivel, as if the tentacle piercing it was sucking it dry.

Its roar turned into a whimper. As its body withered, the last cry faded into the mist.

Milly retracted the tentacle. The massive beast was now a pile of dry bones and loose skin. Its flesh and blood had been completely consumed.

She looked at the tentacle writhing in her palm. It moved like a child waiting for praise. Though Milly knew it obeyed her, the trauma of the past kept her from offering any.

The tentacle seemed to deflate, flailing around as if throwing a tantrum. It had come from her, but who had it learned this behavior from?

Milly smiled helplessly. Remembering how summoning it had nearly drained her magic, she was about to retract it when something happened.

She noticed that wherever the tentacle passed, the fog vanished, as if erased by an eraser, revealing the forest beneath. And the fog didn’t return. The surrounding mist seemed frozen in place, unable to fill the void.

What was happening?

Milly tested it again. Wherever the tentacle swept, the fog disappeared.

Not dispersed, not absorbed, but erased. Gone.

The cleared areas remained empty, the surrounding fog holding back as if by an invisible wall. It was as if that part of the world had simply ceased to exist.

Milly closed her eyes and activated her God’s perspective. The fog-shrouded areas were still invisible, except for the path cleared by the tentacle.

She used her appraisal skill on the cleared area. She didn’t expect much, but the text that appeared made her pause.

[Interference Deleted]

“Deleted?”

She understood “interference.” The fog had blocked her God’s perspective, preventing her from mapping the area.

But “deleted”? That word was… strange.

Not cleared, not erased, but deleted. Milly didn’t want to nitpick, but in this strange other world, the word “deleted” felt out of place.

She looked at the writhing tentacle with mixed feelings. She retracted it, watching it disappear into her palm.

The tentacle could do more than she imagined.

Not only could it insta-kill the Shadowblade Beast like a cheat code, but it could also erase the fog, directly affecting the environment.

Isn’t this shady?

She couldn’t help but think of the past. That person loved to bind her with tentacles, to play with her… no, never mind.

Thinking of the rose-red stain on the bed, Milly blushed. She slapped her cheeks, forcing herself to calm down.

The tentacle’s form was probably due to Stacy’s twisted taste. A single tentacle could do so much. And this was just a half-baked version summoned from her. What about the ones Stacy summoned herself?

At least, the ones Milly had seen were only used for teasing. She had never seen Stacy serious.

No, no… she shook her head. She was getting ahead of herself. Until she reached the demon territory and confirmed the truth, these were just guesses.

She looked back. The cleared area might fill up later, but for now, it was clear. If she used the tentacle to clear a path, combined with her God’s perspective, she wouldn’t get lost.

But in her current state, she would be exhausted after a minute of summoning. And the tentacle’s range was limited. She couldn’t clear the whole forest at once.

Considering the person who could… no, she was still immersed in her act. And Milly didn’t plan to ask for help.

But she could trick her. Milly was looking forward to her performance.

Before Lisa arrived, Milly noticed something else. After the tentacle absorbed the beast, her electricity had recovered significantly.

“Because my abilities are sealed, the absorbed energy can only be converted into electricity?”

She looked at the sparks on her fingertips. They were much stronger than before. If she released them now, it would make a lot of noise and attract monsters.

But if the absorbed energy could replenish the tentacle, she wouldn’t have to worry about the cost. She just had to attract monsters, let the tentacle absorb them, and use the energy to clear the fog.

A perfect cycle. She wouldn’t need to ask that person for help.

“Milly… is it over?”

A trembling voice from behind. Lisa appeared, her body shaking as she looked at the withered corpse of the Shadowblade Beast.

So real. The fear in her eyes was flawless.

“Yes, it’s over.”

Lisa walked toward her, reaching for her hand. Before she could, Milly reached out and grabbed her chin.

Caught off guard, Lisa was forced to look up as Milly applied pressure.

“Have you acted enough?” Milly stared into her green eyes, enunciating each syllable. “Sta-cy.”
