“Has your sleeping posture always been this bad?”

Milly sat up with a blank expression, straightening the messy nightgown on her body.

Hearing Milly’s words, Stacy was taken aback, instinctively letting out a puzzled “Eh?” with her mouth agape.

But she quickly snapped out of it, though she really had no idea about her own sleeping posture.

“I… I don’t know.”

Stacy lowered her head, her fingers unconsciously twisting the hem of her nightgown.

“Having been chosen as the Saintess, I grew up in the Church since I was a child. I’ve always slept alone, so no one has ever told me what my sleeping posture is like…”

No wonder she had never known about her sleeping habits.

However, there had to be a reason why this girl liked to hug people when she fell into a deep sleep.

Perhaps she had been the type who liked to hug things to sleep when she was a child, unable to fall asleep without doing so.

Later on, as she grew up and became the Saintess, she likely didn’t want others to see things like body pillows or plush dolls in the Saintess’s room, so she gave them up.

As a result, she still habitually wanted to hug something once she fell fast asleep.

This was why, no matter which version of Stacy she faced, Milly would always find herself pinned down and tightly embraced upon waking up.

The guess might not be entirely correct, but if she really followed this line of thought, this girl Stacy actually had a rather adorable side to her.

The thought of that Fell God once being unable to fall asleep without clutching a plush toy—a style so utterly incompatible with her character—made her burst out laughing.

“Hmm?”

Stacy tilted her head in confusion.

She couldn’t understand why Milly had suddenly burst out laughing at this moment.

Was her sleeping posture really that funny?

“It’s nothing. I just thought of some interesting things.”

“What kind of interesting things?”

Originally, Milly hadn’t intended to mention anything about her dream.

But since Stacy actively asked what interesting things she had thought of, it was perfect.

She could steer the conversation in that direction and see Stacy’s reaction.

If she missed this opportunity now, she might not get many chances in the future.

“Stacy, did you have some kind of dream last night?”

Stacy’s cheeks instantly burned hot.

‘A dream? No, no, I didn’t do anything, really, I didn’t do anything at all.’

Her reaction was far too obvious.

She really was terrible at lying.

But Milly didn’t even need to speak at a time like this.

She only needed to stare at that blushing face and keep applying pressure, and she would naturally open up and speak on her own.

Seeing that Milly remained silent and kept staring at her, Stacy’s face gradually flushed crimson.

Usually, she forgot her dreams very quickly, but now, the scenes were vividly surfacing in her mind, with every single detail displayed in precise clarity.

“Really, there was nothing at all… No, wait, it was a dream about praying to the Goddess. Yes, that’s right, it was a dream about praying to the Goddess to defeat the Demon King.”

At the mention of the Goddess, Stacy’s face recovered slightly, and her voice gradually calmed down.

Still, as the Saintess, was it really alright for her to use the Goddess as a shield?

Milly didn’t directly expose her.

A wicked smile curled the corners of her lips.

“Is that so? But from what I heard of the Saintess’s sleep-talking this morning, it didn’t really sound like it was about prayers.”

‘Sleep-talking?’

She… she… as if having those thoughts wasn’t enough, how could she have actually spoken them in her sleep?

Thinking of the words she had muttered in that dream, picking out any single phrase would be enough to warrant her kneeling before the Goddess’s statue for an entire day to beg for forgiveness.

Fortunately, it was just a dream and hadn’t been spoken in reality, otherwise she really would have to beg the Goddess for forgiveness.

Still, sleep-talking usually only consisted of disjointed and incoherent murmurs.

Stacy believed that perhaps Milly had only heard a few fragments and not a single complete sentence.

“I… I shouldn’t have said anything, right…?”

“Hmm… strictly speaking, you indeed didn’t say much.”

Hearing Milly’s words, Stacy subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.

But how could Milly’s words possibly end there?

“Of course you didn’t say much. You just said…”

“So soft… Little Milly is so soft… so fragrant, I want to eat her up in one bite…”

“Ehehehehe…”

“Aaaah…!”

Imitating Stacy’s tone, Milly deliberately dragged out the end of her words.

She watched as Stacy fell into a daze, her face gradually turning pale as she stood there, entirely petrified.

“Stacy?”

Milly called her name several times, but she didn’t react at all, looking completely petrified.

Just as Milly was debating whether to poke her cheek, Stacy’s pale face suddenly turned beet-red, followed closely by a high-pitched, explosive shriek.

“Ah! Stop talking about it!”

She violently leapt up from the bed, neglecting to even put on her shoes as she pushed open the door and bolted out, leaving behind a final, hurried, “I’m going to wash up.”

‘Uh… is her reaction really that extreme?’

She truly hadn’t expected to see such a reaction from Stacy.

She really wondered just how many unimaginable things she would witness from Stacy if they continued down this path.

However, a sudden chill involuntarily welled up in the depths of Milly’s heart.

When the future Stacy discovered her real identity, renamed her Milly, and subjected her to all those things… wasn’t it all just to get revenge for this?

No, no, no… that couldn’t be it.

Stacy’s original purpose was merely to force her into obedience so she could find a way to leave the world.

It had nothing to do with her current actions.

Seriously, she shouldn’t scare herself like that.

Stepping off the bed, Milly tidied her messy nightgown in front of the vanity mirror and pushed the door open to step out.

Stacy’s room was situated at the very end of the corridor.

Usually, very few people came this way, and unless they had an urgent matter to request of the Saintess, no one would disturb her rest.

As for the washroom, it was located on the left just a short distance outside the Saintess’s room.

After taking a few steps in that direction, Milly spotted Stacy continuously splashing cold water onto her face, trying to cool her burning cheeks down.

“If you keep splashing like that, it’s going to be very bad for your skin.”

Hearing the voice coming from outside, Stacy paused her movements and looked toward Milly, her eyes appearing somewhat vacant.

“Milly, you misheard. It was an illusion, all an illusion. You must be hallucinating; I didn’t say anything at all.”

Uh…

She was still on about that.

Milly actually had no interest in pressing her further; for her, stopping at a subtle tease was the most appropriate approach.

Stacy merely stood in place, repeatedly chanting the exact same words.

“You misheard. I really didn’t say anything, nothing at all…”

The more she repeated it, the more Stacy’s eyes began to spin in dizzy spirals.

Immediately afterward, accompanied by another sudden shout, Stacy bolted back into the room, leaving Milly standing there completely dumbfounded.

Uh…

Was her reaction a bit too extreme?

Maybe she should just play along with Stacy’s wishes.

After a simple wash, Milly returned to the room and noticed Stacy sitting primly in front of the vanity mirror, though she kept her head lowered, hiding her expression.

“Haha, maybe it indeed was a bit…”

Just as she opened her mouth, a sudden knock on the door cut Milly off.

As she was about to turn around to open it, Stacy abruptly stood up.

“I’ll get the door!”

Her voice seemed to have recovered slightly, but Milly noticed her face was still rather red.

Moreover, after all the commotion, her nightgown was not only damp but also a bit disheveled despite her attempts to neaten it.

Was it really okay for her to open the door like this?

Maybe she should be the one to go… but at that exact moment, the door was already pulled open.

“Your Holiness…”

A familiar voice came from outside the door, but the words she was about to say suddenly ground to a halt, trailing off into silence.

“Candice? What brings you here? I was just about to look for you anyway. Hm?”

Candice’s gaze swept back and forth between Stacy’s damp collar and her flushed cheeks.

She subconsciously gripped her sword hilt, her scrutiny ultimately landing squarely on Milly.
